Tell us the head count and the venue. The Lavatory sizes the accessible rooms to that number and adds them to the same delivery, so the accessible part of your plan becomes one line on one order. Our team brings over 30 years in event and equipment rental, and eight years staging trailers in this market. That experience shows up in the small calls, like where a ramp should land on a sloped lawn.
Units staged close by
Accessible trailers are staged within reach of the county, so same-day delivery covers downtown, Mission Valley, the coast and the South Bay. Short-notice orders in San Diego go out through the same 24/7 dispatch line.

“We rented the ADA shower and restroom combo for a family weekend near Mission Bay so my dad could shower from his wheelchair. It felt like a small hotel room by the water, and it stayed spotless all three days.”

“Our attendant was professional and polite all night. He kept every room clean and helped our older guests up the ramp whenever they needed it. He went well past his job, and I would book The Lavatory again without a second thought.”

“Great customer service, clean bathrooms and real flexibility when our festival dates moved. The team worked around every change. Highly recommend them!”
Brands that trust our luxury restroom trailers
Large companies book us again and again because an accessible room that works is part of hosting people well. Google, Tesla, Mercedes and Caesars Palace trust The Lavatory with company events and guest-facing restrooms, the same kind of work behind galas on the San Diego waterfront.

Businesses in San Diego that book event series every year come back because the upkeep stays the same. An accessible room gets noticed most when it is missing, so we keep every unit clean, stocked and easy to reach each day of the job, on every San Diego booking.
The ADA restroom and shower trailer lineup for San Diego
Most San Diego weddings and galas under about 200 guests fit the ADA + 2. Larger crowds step up to the ADA + 6.

The ADA + 2 Restroom Trailer is the deluxe pick for most mid-size events. Wheelchair users get a room of their own at the end of a self contained ramp, separate from the women’s and men’s sides. It suits San Diego events of up to about 200 guests and job sites with up to about 30 crew. Onboard tanks hold 210 gallons of fresh water and 300 gallons of waste, and it draws power from two 120 V 20 A circuits.
For bigger San Diego gatherings and job sites, we bring the ADA + 6 Restroom Trailer, a single unit with seven rooms that carries its own ramp so everyone can roll or walk straight in. That makes it a good fit for a crowd of up to about 300 people, since it carries 200 gallons of fresh water and a 475 gallon waste tank. For showers, the ADA + 2 Private Shower Trailer pairs two private shower rooms with one accessible shower room on an integrated ramp. It is sized for about 50 users, with 1.5 GPM metered hot and cold heads.
For guests who need both a toilet and a shower, this single unit has grab bars beside the toilet, a roll-in shower with a seat and wand, and an accessible sink. Every model has AC and heat, a gel-coated fiberglass interior and real flushing china toilets, and our team stocks and services each one. The same lineup backs our accessible restroom trailer rentals in California.
A walk through the ADA room
Self-contained ramp
The ramp and its rails come attached to the trailer, so nothing extra is rented or built for a sandy beach path or a sloped park lawn.
Roomy accessible stall
At a large gala, the unisex room has grab bars, a porcelain toilet and floor space to turn a wheelchair fully around.
Accessible shower option
Crews on a bayfront job get a roll in shower with a built in seat, a spray wand and separate hot and cold controls.
Heat and air conditioning
Heating and air conditioning in every trailer handle warm fall afternoons and cool winter nights near the water.
Runs with or without hookups
Onboard tanks and a staged generator suit beach and canyon sites with no hookups, though hookups work fine too.
Serviced and stocked
Each trailer arrives stocked, and we return during a multi day festival to pump waste, restock supplies and clean.
Picking between our accessible trailers
Planners in San Diego often ask how many accessible rooms a gala or a game day crowd needs, so we offer four accessible units, from one restroom for a small group up to a 300 guest event, and we pick one once you tell us the head count and whether crews need showers.

Accessible bathroom trailer rentals for every kind of San Diego event
San Diego hosts big events in every month of the year, and most of them happen outside a building’s own restrooms. These are the three kinds of work where an accessible trailer does the most good here.
Luxury ADA bathroom trailer rentals for galas, conferences and company events

For a company event, The Lavatory adds the accessible rooms to the same order as the rest of the restrooms, with five-star service and trailers that look right at a sponsor party. Comic-Con week shows why. The San Diego Convention Center has its own restrooms. The parties, brand events and fan events on Gaslamp lots, piers and closed streets do not, and that is where a trailer with a ramp earns its spot.
Galas follow the same pattern. A dinner under a tent on the lawn near the Rady Shell at Jacobs Park, or a reception set up beside a bayfront hotel, often sits a long walk away from the building’s restrooms. A luxury accessible trailer placed near the tent keeps every guest close to a clean restroom with real china toilets, AC and soft lighting that looks right at a black-tie dinner.
Meeting space keeps growing south of downtown. The Gaylord Pacific resort in Chula Vista added 1,600 rooms and more than 477,000 square feet of meeting space, which brings more outdoor receptions and company programs to the South Bay. After eight years staging trailers in this market, the first thing our team asks about a corporate site is how many separate restroom spots it has.
Long conference days need steady service. For multi-day programs, our service team restocks paper and soap and checks the tanks on a schedule built around session breaks, so the rooms stay fresh at the busy hour. The same steady service comes with all of our mobile restroom trailer rentals across California.
Temporary accessible restroom rentals for schools, agencies and more
Graduations and campus events
Outdoor graduations, open houses and field days at schools and colleges around the county bring families of every age. An accessible trailer near the stands or the lawn keeps older relatives close to a clean restroom.
Office restrooms down for a remodel
A closed bathroom, whether from a remodel or a broken pipe, leaves staff and visitors with nowhere to go. A trailer near the entrance, serviced weekly, covers the gap until the work is done.
Flood relief in Southcrest and Mountain View
The January 22, 2024 storm dropped 2.73 inches on San Diego, the fourth heaviest day of rain since 1850, and left more than 100 homes in Southcrest and Mountain View unsafe to live in. Relief sites after a storm like that need restrooms and showers that wheelchair users and older residents can reach.
Fire evacuation centers
Santa Ana winds drove the Lilac and Pala fires near Bonsall in January 2025, with evacuation orders across north county. Evacuees often include older residents and people in wheelchairs, and a shelter in a school gym rarely has enough accessible showers for them. An ADA shower trailer or a single-station combo in the parking lot gives them a private place to wash and use the restroom.
Del Mar Fairgrounds events
The San Diego County Fair at the Del Mar Fairgrounds runs for weeks each summer, and the grounds host shows and festivals the rest of the year. Long days and lots of walking make an accessible trailer near the main paths a smart add.
Airport and office-site construction
Phase two of the new Terminal 1 at San Diego International Airport runs into 2028. A build that stretches into 2028 keeps workers and visitors on site for years, and they need an accessible restroom close to the office trailers.
Everyone on site uses the same room, and with units staged across the region, adding an ADA trailer is routine for businesses in San Diego, from harbor venues to schools and construction sites.
The budget math on accessible restroom trailers

A San Diego gala or wedding already pays for the venue, the caterer and the crew, so one accessible room is a small part of the total. It decides whether every guest can stay through the last toast.
Add it to the tables and tents you already rent, and you get one delivery, one service schedule and one contact.
Delivery, setup and service for ADA-compliant trailers

One coordinator holds your order in San Diego from the first quote to the final pickup. If a venue changes its loading window or a guest count grows the week before, you call that same person, and the change goes straight to the crew assigned to your date.
On multi day events in San Diego, we schedule service visits and restock supplies, so the trailer stays in the same condition from the first day to the last.
Getting ADA trailers to your site
Reserving an accessible trailer should not add work, so we handle it in four steps, with one team and a straight answer throughout.
Send us the details
To get a quote, give us the event dates, about how many guests you expect and the spot you have in mind for the accessible trailer, even if it is the only flat clearing in a hillside park, and we will suggest the unit type and how many you need.
We pick the size and the spot
We check the spot for water and power, arrange a generator and water if needed, and mark the placement so delivery takes one trip along the waterfront service road.
We deliver and set it up
We set the trailer before a morning gate opens, level it, hook up the utilities and stock it.
We keep it clean, then haul it away
The trailer stays for the whole job, even a long summer run, while our line stays open and we return at the end to remove it.
Portable ADA restroom rentals for stadium overflow and tournament weekends

Snapdragon Stadium in Mission Valley seats about 35,000 and expands to about 55,000. SDSU Aztecs football, San Diego Wave FC and San Diego FC matches, bowl games and concerts all fill it. The stadium has restrooms inside. Tailgate lots, fan zones and watch parties outside the gates often do not, and the nearest accessible restroom can be a long walk through a crowd.
Downtown, Petco Park holds nearly 40,000, and the Padres drew more than 3 million fans in 2025. Charity runs, block parties and festivals on the lots and streets around the ballpark in East Village bring in their own portable toilet orders. Those orders often leave out the accessible count. An accessible trailer added to that bank closes the gap.
Tournament weekends at fields and parks across the county run long, often two or three days of games with families on site all day. A portable ADA + 6 near the main field puts seven rooms in one footprint. A Single-Station ADA Shower and Restroom Combo can sit near a second field cluster. Holiday Bowl week adds a parade, a 5K and fan events along the downtown bayfront.
Placement decides how well a stadium-side trailer works. Our team keeps the ramp out of the main walking flow and leaves a clear path wide enough for a wheelchair. Service rounds land at halftime, set breaks and the end of each game. Exterior lights stay on after dark, so the walk back to the parking lot feels safe.

Private accessible restroom trailers for weddings and receptions
A wedding guest list usually spans every age. Anyone on a walker or crutches needs a restroom they can reach without help. A standard portable toilet box is hard or impossible for them. A trailer with a ramp, handrails and a roomy accessible room fixes that, and nobody has to ask for special help.
Balboa Park is a favorite for garden ceremonies, with spots like the Japanese Friendship Garden, which wedding listings put at up to 248 guests. Historic grounds come with narrow roads and strict care near old buildings. Our drivers walk the route first, then set the trailer where the ramp lands on firm, level ground and the path to it stays clear.
Coastal weddings bring their own limits. Around La Jolla, bluff streets are tight and parking is scarce, and a site right on the beach like the Scripps Seaside Forum leaves little spare room. A compact ADA + 2 often fits where a bigger unit cannot. Guests still get separate men’s and women’s rooms along with a private accessible room that has its own sink.
Our team stocks every room before the first guest arrives. The same finish ships with our ADA bathroom trailer rentals in San Diego.
What the city asks of ADA portable restroom rentals at events
Events that use city streets, sidewalks, parks or other public property in San Diego go through the city’s Office of Special Events, along with events that serve alcohol, cook or sell food, or put up large temporary structures. The city’s guideline makes portable restrooms mandatory unless the organizer can show enough nearby restrooms, accessible and standard, that stay open to the public during the event.
The guideline also sets a minimum share of accessible units and asks for level ground under each one. Our counting guide in the resource library below works through the numbers. These are city guidelines, so confirm the current version with your permit.
Every unit in our lineup meets federal ADA requirements and California’s accessibility standard. For spill control, the guideline asks for a liner under standard units, while accessible units may use sandbags or a similar barrier, since a liner can get in the way of a wheelchair. Private venues and HOAs set their own rules on top of the city’s. You handle the permit; our team sets placement, ramp access and the delivery path to fit it.
Ramps, rooms and placement on San Diego sites
- Each unit has an attached ramp, rails, grab bars and a roomy unisex stall for galas and weddings.
- We advise on ramp placement: the trailer goes on firm pavement or turf, with a mat path across sand or soft grass.
- Water and power are set before delivery, with a generator staged for park sites without hookups.
- Every unit we send out is licensed and insured, as venue managers expect.
The Office of Special Events, a waterfront venue or a school district may each set its own rules for where accessible restrooms go, so send us the site and we plan around them, then confirm your permit needs with the venue too.
How ADA-compliant trailers get planned for common jobs
Activities director planning an outdoor concert at a senior living community in La Mesa
When most of the audience uses walkers or wheelchairs, we place an ADA + 2 on paved ground close to the seating, keep the ramp landing clear of chairs and set the AC before the first song. Residents reach a clean room in a few steps, and staff never have to walk anyone back inside.
Couple planning a backyard reception on an HOA street in Scripps Ranch
When a trailer has to sit in a driveway, we ask the couple to clear it with the HOA first, then measure the driveway slope. A ramp needs gentle ground, so on a steep driveway we pick a flatter patch near the curb and lay a firm path from there to the yard.
Church volunteer hosting a weekend parish festival in Linda Vista
When a festival runs from Friday night through Sunday afternoon, we set an ADA + 6 near the food booths, plan a service visit each morning before gates open and point the ramp toward the main walkway. Older parishioners and families with strollers use the same accessible room all weekend.
Neighborhoods we serve with deluxe ADA restroom trailers
That covers the neighborhoods below plus Coronado, Chula Vista, La Mesa, El Cajon, Poway, Escondido, Carlsbad and Del Mar.
In and around San Diego, we deliver ADA trailers to Downtown, Gaslamp Quarter, East Village, Little Italy, Barrio Logan, Golden Hill, North Park, South Park, Hillcrest, Mission Hills, Old Town, Point Loma, Ocean Beach, Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, La Jolla, Mission Valley, Kearny Mesa, Clairemont, Linda Vista, Rancho Bernardo, Scripps Ranch, Carmel Valley, Otay Mesa and the rest of the region. Everywhere we deliver accessible restrooms in this area, we also offer private portable laundry trailer rentals in San Diego, California.
Full specifications are on the ADA + 2 restroom trailer spec page for San Diego and the other accessible unit pages, or call and we will spec it to your San Diego guest and crew count. The full range of layouts sits one page over in our private ADA restroom trailer rentals in CA. For a site in another part of the state, our portable ADA bathroom trailers for rent in California lists every region we deliver to. Events outside town are covered too; our luxury mobile ADA shower trailers near San Diego, California shows every corridor.
Gaslamp Quarter and East Village
Street closures and lot events near the Convention Center and Petco Park mean tight loading and crowds on every side. We plan curbside placement with the event permit in hand and keep the ramp facing away from foot traffic.
Hillcrest and North Park
Street fairs and block parties fill narrow streets lined with shops. A compact ADA + 2 fits a single parking lane, and our drivers check overhead wires and tree limbs before they back in.
Point Loma and Ocean Beach
Bayside receptions and beach-adjacent events here run on small lots and steep side streets. We scout the slope ahead of time, since a ramp needs flat ground at the bottom.
Mission Bay
Resort receptions, races and park events sit right next to sand and soft lawns. Trailers go on pavement or firm turf, with a clear path to the event area.
Rancho Bernardo and Scripps Ranch
Corporate campuses, company picnics and backyard weddings fill the inland north. HOA rules and long driveways shape placement, so we confirm both before delivery day.
Otay Mesa and San Ysidro
Business sites and community events near the border often need a unit on a working lot. Our team picks a level spot away from truck traffic and sets a service schedule that fits the site.
Regions we serve with temporary ADA restroom trailers
Downtown San Diego
Conference spillover, waterfront galas and ballpark events around the Gaslamp Quarter and East Village.
Mission Valley
Stadium lots, hotel events and new housing sites along the San Diego River.
La Jolla and the coast
Oceanfront weddings, beach events and company retreats in La Jolla, Pacific Beach and Point Loma. Our drivers plan around tight bluff streets and short parking.
North County Inland
Backyard weddings, corporate campuses and company picnics in Rancho Bernardo, Poway and Escondido. Units arrive ready for long driveways and HOA streets.
South Bay
Resort receptions, community events and business sites in Chula Vista, National City and San Ysidro.

“Amazing service. They brought out an accessible bathroom trailer for my sister’s birthday party and my grandma loved it.”
Accessible trailers: what people ask first

When do I need a water hookup, and when can the trailer run on its own tanks?
A single day usually needs nothing beyond the tanks already on the trailer. Multi-day events, long-term sites and big crowds go further on a hookup with a standard hose connection. Tell us how far the trailer sits from the spigot and we confirm the hose run before delivery; with no water on site, our team refills and pumps on a set schedule.
How do permits, HOA rules and venue rules work for a trailer at a San Diego event?
The answer starts with whether the event is on public or private ground. Events on city streets, sidewalks, parks or other public property go through the City of San Diego’s special events permit, and the city’s restroom and accessibility guidelines come with it. Private venues and HOAs set their own rules on placement, insurance and loading, so check with them early. Send us the site and our team plans placement, ramp access and the delivery path around those rules.
Do public sites, schools and agencies in San Diego have extra requirements for a restroom trailer?
Often, yes. Our team also checks the route between the parking area or building and the ramp before delivery.
Will the ramp, handrails and turning room work for a guest in a wheelchair?
Yes. The ADA + 2, ADA + 6 and ADA + 2 Private Shower Trailer each come with a ramp and handrails, and the accessible room has space to turn a wheelchair plus grab bars by the toilet. The combo adds a shower a wheelchair can enter, with a built in seat and a hand wand. The ramp needs to land on firm, level ground, so our crew checks the spot before setting the trailer.
Can you help me work out how many accessible units my event needs?
Yes, and it is one of the most common calls we get. Start with peak attendance and the number of separate restroom spots on the site, since the city’s guideline asks for an accessible unit at each one. Send us the head count and a site map and we size the order with you. The step-by-step guide in our resource library below walks through the math.
Is one standard outlet enough to power an ADA trailer, or do I need a generator?
Usually a single household outlet is not enough. Each unit draws from two 120 V 20 A circuits, so it needs two dedicated circuits, not one shared kitchen plug. If the site cannot spare them, a properly sized generator covers it, and you can add one to the order. Send a photo of the panel or ask the venue’s electrician and we confirm.
Where does the cost of an ADA trailer rental come from?
A quote moves with a few things: the number and size of units, how many days you keep them, how far the site is, hookups versus self-contained, and how often the trailer needs service. Date demand matters too. Peak wedding weekends and big event weeks cost more than quieter dates, so an early booking on a lower-demand date gets the best rate. Delivery, setup, stocking and pickup are part of every rental.
What if I already have a large restroom trailer and only need to add an accessible room?
That is a common setup. The ADA + 2 and ADA + 6 already pair an accessible room with standard rooms, so for most events one trailer covers both. If a large standard trailer bank is already on site, a Single-Station ADA Shower and Restroom Combo can sit beside it. Our team places it close to the main bank so guests find it easily.
Are the accessible trailers air conditioned for a hot September event in Mission Valley?
Yes. Every unit has AC and heat, so the rooms stay comfortable on a warm afternoon at a stadium lot and on a cool evening by the bay. The climate control runs on the trailer’s power circuits. Our crew sets it before guests arrive.
Can you deliver the day before a Balboa Park wedding and pick up the day after?
Yes, most of the time. Many venues prefer it, since setup and pickup then stay out of the ceremony and the cleanup. Historic and park venues often set loading windows, so tell us the venue’s rules and we book delivery and pickup inside them.
What supplies come stocked in each room?
Each room comes stocked with toilet paper, paper towels and hand soap before the first guest walks in. For long events and multi-day rentals, our service team restocks on a schedule that fits your timeline. Ask about an on-site attendant for weddings and galas.

Resource library: planning guides for accessible restroom trailer rentals
These guides cover sizing, placement and timing for hosts and planners, including how many accessible units a San Diego event needs.
How to count accessible restrooms for a San Diego event, step by step
Most planners figure the total restroom count first and add accessible units at the end. That order causes the most common mistake we see on event plans in San Diego. Start with the site map instead. The number of separate places people go to use the restroom often decides the accessible count more than the head count does.
Step one is peak attendance, not total tickets. For sizing, San Diego County points to about one toilet per 250 people at peak, and the city’s special events office says the same. A daylong festival that sells 6,000 tickets might only have 3,000 people on the grounds at its busiest hour. Use the busiest hour, because that is when the lines form.
Step two is the total count. Divide peak attendance by 250 and round up. At 3,000 people that gives 12 toilets. Planners often go heavier for long events with drinks, and in our experience that is the right call for anything past four hours. A trailer room counts as one toilet, so a seven-room ADA + 6 covers seven of the twelve.
Step three is the accessible share. The city’s guideline asks for 10 percent of restroom facilities to be accessible. Twelve toilets times 10 percent is 1.2. Round up, always. That means two accessible rooms, never one.
Step four is the restroom spots. The guideline also asks for at least one accessible unit at every restroom location. If the 3,000-person festival has restroom clusters at the main stage, the food court and the far parking lot, that is three spots, so you need three accessible rooms even though the percentage said two.
Step five is to take the higher number. A 500-guest wedding with one restroom spot needs one accessible room. A 10,000-person event with 40 toilets needs four by the percentage, but if the site spreads across six clusters, it needs six. Write both numbers down and order the larger one.
Now turn rooms into trailers. Every ADA + 2 and ADA + 6 has one unisex accessible room built in, so each trailer counts toward both your total and your accessible number. For a site with three clusters, one trailer per cluster often solves the whole plan. Where a cluster already has standard units, a single-station ADA combo fills that spot.
Last, check the path. The guideline asks for an accessible route to each restroom and to each sink or sanitizer station, so the ground between the crowd and the ramp matters as much as the ramp. Send us your site map and head count, and our team returns a count with placements marked. Call or request a quote to start.
Questions to ask a San Diego restroom trailer company before you sign
Restroom trailers look alike in photos, and a lot of quotes read alike too. The differences show up on event day, when a tank runs low or a ramp lands on a slope. These are the questions we would ask if we were renting one for our own event in San Diego, and the answers you should expect.
Do you own the trailers? The answer you want is yes. The Lavatory owns and services every trailer in-house, so when a tank runs low or a door sticks, the person who answers your call sends our own crew.
Which unit has the ramp, and where will it land? Ask for the exact model and its room layout. A solid answer explains how the ramp reaches the accessible room and what rails line the way. Then ask who checks the ground. The ramp needs firm, level ground at the bottom, and someone should look at your site, or at least your photos, before delivery.
What does my site need to provide? You want a plain answer on water and power. Our units carry their own fresh and waste tanks and draw from two 120 V 20 A circuits. If the answer is vague, expect a surprise on setup day. Ask what happens if the venue cannot spare two circuits.
Who services the trailer, how often and what comes stocked? For a single evening, stocking before guests arrive may be enough. For a three-day festival or a long-term rental, ask for the service schedule in writing. Ask whether an attendant is available for a wedding or gala, and what supplies each room starts with.
Can you send insurance certificates and meet the venue’s rules? San Diego hotels, historic gardens and parks often ask for certificates and set loading windows. A company that does this often sends the paperwork with the quote and asks about loading windows before you mention them.
What happens if something breaks during the event? Ask for the after-hours number and who answers it.
What does the quote include? Delivery, setup, stocking, service and pickup should all be on it. Ask what would change the number: more days, more units, a farther site, extra service visits or a peak date. A clear quote lists the cost drivers so you can adjust them. Call us with these questions and you will get straight answers.
Placing an accessible trailer on slopes, sand, grass and curbs in San Diego
San Diego has a little of every kind of ground. Canyon parks, bluff-top lawns, beach sand, hillside estates and downtown curbs all show up on our delivery sheets. A trailer can be leveled almost anywhere. The ground where the ramp lands, and the path leading to it, is what decides whether a wheelchair user can actually get inside.
Start with slope. The city’s special events guideline asks for accessible units on level ground with a cross-slope of no more than 2 percent in any direction. That is about a quarter inch of drop per foot. Leveling jacks fix the trailer itself, but they do nothing for the landing at the bottom of the ramp, so that spot needs to be flat before we set the unit.
Next is the landing. Leave a firm, clear patch at the foot of the ramp, big enough to turn a wheelchair around. Keep tables, cables and planters out of it. On busy event sites we mark the landing with cones during setup, because it is the first spot other vendors use to stack gear.
Grass works when it is dry and firm. Irrigated lawns at parks and estates can turn soft under a loaded trailer and a wheelchair. Ask the venue to shut off sprinklers near the spot for a couple of days before delivery. For long paths across lawn, ground mats or plywood runs give wheels a steady surface.
Sand is the hardest surface. Around Mission Bay and Pacific Beach, sand will not hold a wheelchair, and it will not hold a trailer jack well either. The answer is almost always to place the trailer on the nearest pavement or parking lot edge and run a mat path toward the event. Plan for this early, because beach-adjacent lots fill fast on event days.
Curbs and street placements come up downtown and in older neighborhoods. A trailer at the curb on a closed street needs a curb ramp or a level street-side path so guests do not have to step up. Check the street closure permit to see where the trailer is allowed to sit, and send it to us with the site map.
Winter rain changes the plan. A lawn that was firm in October can be soft in January, and low spots hold water for days. For events between December and March, pick a paved backup spot when you choose the main one. If the ground is soaked on delivery day, our crew moves the trailer to the backup instead of risking a stuck unit.
The easiest fix is a site look before the order is final. Photos of the spot and the way in from the nearest pavement help, or you can ask us to walk the site. Our team has placed trailers on steep driveways, sandy lots and historic garden paths, and a few photos usually tell us which spot works. Call or request a quote and include them.
A booking timeline for San Diego weddings and galas
Mild weather lets San Diego weddings and outdoor galas happen in every month, but the calendar is not even. Late spring through fall is the busy stretch for weddings, and big convention weeks, bowl week and summer fair season stack more events on the same dates. Here is the timeline we suggest for locking in an accessible trailer.
Six to twelve months out, book the venue and then ask for a trailer quote right away. You do not need a final guest count yet. A rough number and the venue address are enough to hold the right unit.
Three to six months out, pin down the site details. Walk the venue with the coordinator and note where the trailer can sit, where the ramp will land and how far it is to water and power. Ask about loading windows, insurance certificates and any rules on vehicle access. Once we have your photos, we confirm where the trailer will sit.
One to two months out, settle the count. RSVP cards tell you how many older guests, wheelchair users and families with small children are coming. That is the moment to decide between an ADA + 2 and an ADA + 6, or to add a second trailer for a large guest list. Let us know if you want an attendant for the evening.
The week of the event, confirm the details. Make sure the delivery path is clear and the venue knows when our crew is coming. Ask your coordinator to keep the ramp landing free of rentals and decor during setup. Venues often want the trailer in place a day early and gone the day after.
A Friday or a winter weekend booked early gets the best rate. A Saturday in June near a big downtown event week sits at the other end. If your date is flexible, ask us which weekends are quieter before you sign with the venue.
Short notice still happens. A venue’s restrooms can fail the week of the event, and then you need a plan fast.
After the event, pickup is the last step. Our crew pumps, cleans and removes the trailer without leaving a mess on the lawn or the lot. If the venue has a strict load-out time, tell us when you book so pickup lands inside it. Reach out today with your date and venue, and we will book the trailer and plan pickup around your schedule.
Trailer or portable toilet: what each one gives guests with limited mobility
Portable toilets have a place at San Diego events, and plenty of good events use them. The question here is narrower: what does each option give a guest who uses a wheelchair, a walker or a cane, or who simply cannot manage a step? The answer shapes how you split a budget, not whether you spend one.
A standard accessible portable toilet is a single ground-level box with a wider door and more floor space than a regular unit. It usually has no running water, so hand washing happens at a separate sink or sanitizer station. It works for short events and spread-out sites, but the inside is basic and it can get hot in the afternoon sun.
An accessible restroom trailer adds more. A ramp with side rails leads into a roomy accessible room, where you get a flushing china toilet with grab bars and a sink with running water. The room has AC and heat, lighting and a gel-coated fiberglass interior that looks and feels like an indoor bathroom.
The sink is a bigger deal than most planners expect. The city’s restroom and sink guideline asks for an accessible route to each sink or sanitizer station, and at least one accessible sink where several are set up. With a sink inside the accessible room, a guest washes up in the same stop, without crossing a lawn to find a separate station.
Comfort counts on long events. A guest who is 80 years old, or who uses a power chair, is going to visit the restroom more than once during a five-hour reception or a full tournament day. A cool, lit, clean room with space to turn makes each of those trips easier, and it keeps those guests at the event longer.
A mixed plan works well for many events. Portable toilets cover the bulk of a large crowd, while an accessible trailer near the main area covers guests with limited mobility, older guests and families with small children. For a mid-size event, one ADA + 6 can cover the whole crowd and the accessible room in a single footprint.
Price is the first question on most calls, and a trailer does cost more than a basic box. We never knock anyone’s budget, and our team is happy to price a mixed plan side by side with an all-trailer plan.
If you are not sure which way to go, send us the guest count, the venue and how long the event runs. Our team suggests a plan for each budget and shows where the accessible rooms would sit. Call now or request a free quote, and you can compare both plans before you decide.
