Why choose The Lavatory for portable laundry trailer rentals in Utah

Work in Utah sends people a long way from home. A turnaround crew in North Salt Lake, a solar build outside Green River, an oil camp near Vernal and a fire camp in the Fishlake National Forest all end up with the same problem by the end of week one: a pile of dirty work clothes and no good place to wash them. Small towns along those jobs have one coin laundry, or none, and a camp of a few hundred people would swamp it in a day.
A self-contained laundry unit on site fixes that with one delivery. The 8-Station puts eight industrial washers and eight dryers under one roof, with a large basin sink, a folding table and LED lighting. Eight loads wash at once, all day, a few steps from the bunkhouses. For a smaller team that also needs bathrooms, the 4-Station Combo pairs four private baths with showers and a separate laundry room in a single footprint.
You work with one company for the whole rental. The Lavatory quotes the job, sizes it, delivers it, levels it, connects it, services the tanks and hauls it out when the work is done. Our dispatch team plans the Wasatch Front, the Wasatch Back, the Uinta Basin, the west desert and southern Utah on one calendar, so the right unit reaches the right gate.
Industrial machines, not home appliances
Eight washers and eight dryers let a full camp wash in rounds instead of lining up at two household machines. The 8-Station is built for long days of heavy loads: red dirt, oil, soot and wet snow gear included.
One unit for showers, toilets and laundry
The 4-Station Combo gives a survey team, a drill crew or a long-stay group four private baths with hot showers, plus a stacked washer and dryer in its own room. One footprint, one hookup plan, one service schedule.
Planned for mountain and desert sites
Utah sites swing between snow at 7,000 feet and dry heat in the Basin and Range. We check ground, grade, gate width, power and water before the truck leaves, so the unit is ready to run on day one.

Large companies book our laundry trailers again and again for long jobs. The Lavatory has provided trailers for names like Google, Tesla, BMW, Mercedes, eBay, and Target, for hospitality at Caesars Palace, and for pro sports including the Golden State Warriors, Oakland A’s, and Las Vegas Raiders.

“I worked directly with the Utah team on a project that ran for several months, and the laundry trailer at our camp was excellent from start to finish. The people were quick to answer, planned every service visit ahead and made our whole crew’s life easier.”

“I read plenty of bad stories about rental companies before we booked. These folks are the real deal. Our laundry unit near Vernal was clean, the machines never quit and the service tech came on schedule every time.”
Where our mobile laundry units work across Utah, region by region
We serve all of Utah. Each part of the state brings its own work, roads, weather and reasons people end up living on a site for weeks. Send us the address, the head count and the length of the job, and we will match the unit and the service plan to that location.

The Wasatch Front: Salt Lake City, Ogden, Provo and the cities between
Most of the state's people live along a narrow strip at the foot of the Wasatch Range, in Salt Lake City, West Valley City, Sandy, South Jordan, Lehi, Layton, Ogden, Provo and Orem. The north end holds Utah's refinery row. The North Salt Lake refinery processes about 54,720 barrels a day and the Woods Cross plant about 39,330, and a large turnaround at a Salt Lake City refinery can last around six weeks. Shutdowns like that bring hundreds of outside workers into Davis and Salt Lake counties, and their flame-resistant clothing needs washing on a schedule. Shelter and outreach programs downtown add winter demand when cold snaps and bad air push more people indoors than the buildings can hold.
Park City and the Wasatch Back
Park City, Heber and Kamas sit on the east side of the range, where ski resorts, lodge projects and road work keep building through the year. Resorts house seasonal staff, and staff housing is never big enough in a peak winter. A temporary laundry unit at a staff camp or a construction village takes pressure off a small town's coin laundries. Winter delivery up Parleys Canyon and around the resorts means we check cleared roads, grade and the spot the unit will sit before the truck heads up the canyon.
The west desert and central Utah
West of the Oquirrh Mountains the state opens into long, empty country. The Bingham Canyon copper mine employs a workforce above 2,000, and a 25 megawatt solar expansion there adds about 64,000 panels on 1,260 acres. Tooele Army Depot and Dugway Proving Ground anchor the west desert. Farther south, the Intermountain Power Project near Delta peaked around 1,200 workers, and room and board in town were hard to find. Planned solar and storage builds in Millard and Beaver counties point to more of the same: big crews, small towns and long drives to anything with a washing machine.
Eastern Utah and the Uinta Basin
The Uinta Basin around Vernal and Roosevelt carried about 3,745 mining and extraction payroll jobs in 2024, roughly a third of the state's total for that sector. Drill and completion crews work rotations and live in camps or hotels that fill quickly. South of the Basin, Price and Green River serve energy country of their own. The Green River Energy Center, a 400 megawatt solar plant with 1,600 megawatt hours of storage, brought about 500 temporary construction jobs to Emery County. Moab adds film shoots and national park traffic to the mix.
Southern Utah: St. George, Cedar City and the park towns
St. George and Cedar City are some of the fastest growing places in the state, with new subdivisions, roads and utility work every season. The national park gateway towns of Springdale, Kanab and Moab house large seasonal staffs each summer, and housing for those workers is tight. Red rock country also draws film and commercial shoots that stay on location for days at a time. Summer heat in the Dixie area is real, so we plan service visits around the hottest stretches of a long rental.

Two temporary laundry units for Utah sites of any size
Our Utah laundry rentals come down to two units. The 8-Station handles big camps, turnarounds and relief sites with eight washers, eight dryers and two HVAC units. The 4-Station Combo pairs one stacked washer and dryer with four private baths for a small group that needs everything in one place. Either one fits on the same site plan as our restroom and shower trailers.
8-Station Laundry Trailer
Eight industrial washers and eight dryers with a full wash and dry cycle, plus a large basin sink, a folding table, LED lighting and two HVAC units. The box measures 8 feet 5 inches by 21 feet, and the unit is 26 feet 4 inches long with the tongue and 12 feet 4 inches wide with the stairs set. It carries a 750 gallon waste tank and needs two 50 amp, 240 volt circuits within 100 feet, or a generator plan we arrange.
4-Station Restroom, Shower and Laundry Combo
Four private baths, each with a toilet, sink, shower and outlet, plus a separate laundry room with a stacked washer and dryer. It serves crews and long-stay groups of up to about 30 people. The combo is 26 feet 4 inches long with the tongue, 12 feet 4 inches wide with stairs and 11 feet 4 inches tall with its AC. It holds 105 gallons of fresh water and 750 gallons of waste, with 1.5 GPM metered shower heads running hot and cold. One AC unit with a smart thermostat sets the room temperature. Power is one 220 volt, 50 amp circuit or two 110 volt, 20 amp circuits within 100 feet.
Not sure which unit fits your Utah site? Tell us how many people live there, how long they stay and what they are washing. We will size it straight with you, and if the site also needs restrooms or showers, those can come out of the same fleet on the same truck schedule.
Sizing a portable laundry setup for your head count in Utah

Every Utah quote starts with a handful of numbers: people on site, days on site, how dirty the work is and what the ground offers for power and water. These are the figures we use to size a job with you.
Survey parties and base camps of 30 or fewer
The 4-Station Combo covers a small team with four private baths, hot showers and a stacked washer and dryer. It suits a seismic survey crew in the west desert or a trail and range crew working out of one base for a season.
Large camps and turnaround crews
The 8-Station washes eight loads and dries eight more at the same time. For a big camp, the math is loads per person per week, plus extra for oily work clothes, mud or soot that needs a wash after every shift. We run those numbers with you and add a second unit if one cannot keep up.
Power on site
The 8-Station needs two 240 volt circuits rated at 50 amps each, within 100 feet of where it parks. The combo draws less. Plenty of Utah sites, from Basin well pads to west desert solar fields, have no grid power at all, and we plan a generator for those.
Water and waste
The 8-Station has a 750 gallon waste tank. The combo carries 105 gallons of fresh water on board along with its own 750 gallon waste tank. Where a water line and sewer connection exist, we hook up to them. Where they do not, we bring water and pump waste on a fixed schedule, and the head count and tank size set how often.
Ground, space and access
Plan for a firm, fairly level spot about 26 feet 4 inches long and 12 feet 4 inches wide with the stairs out, plus a clear path for the truck. Gravel pads, packed dirt and paved lots all work. Soft spring mud in the valleys and steep canyon roads are the two things we look at hardest.
Shift patterns and the busiest hour
Turnaround and fire camp crews often work day and night shifts, so the machines run around the clock and the wait for a washer stays short. Staff housing is the opposite: it peaks in the evening and on days off. Tell us the shift pattern, and we size the setup to the busiest hour of the day, not the daily average.
Laundry plus showers and restrooms
A crew that needs clean clothes almost always needs hot showers and clean toilets too. We pair the laundry unit with shower and restroom trailers on one layout and one service route, so a single call covers the whole camp.
Top industries using our commercial laundry trailers in Utah
Laundry units are for people who live on a site for days, weeks or months. These are the Utah uses we hear about most, each with its own sizing, placement and service plan.

Refinery and plant turnarounds
Turnarounds on the north end of the Salt Lake Valley bring large temporary crews for a few intense weeks. Flame-resistant clothing and coveralls need regular washing, and a few hundred extra workers would overwhelm the coin laundries in Woods Cross and Bountiful. An 8-Station parked near the contractor village or the crew lot keeps that washing on site, on the shift schedule.
Mining, solar and power plant construction
Copper mining in the Oquirrhs, the power plant near Delta and solar and storage builds in Emery, Millard, Beaver and Iron counties keep crews living near the work for months. A mobile laundry unit at the man camp saves an hour of driving to town after a long shift. Clean clothes also keep fine desert dust out of trucks, bunks and break rooms.
Oil and gas in the Uinta Basin
Drill, completion and pipeline crews in the Basin work hitches far from home, often in camps between Vernal, Roosevelt and the well pads. Oil, drilling mud and winter slush end up on every layer. A commercial laundry unit at the camp lets each hitch start in clean gear without a trip to town.
Wildfire camps and disaster relief
The 2025 season burned about 73,700 acres in the Monroe Canyon Fire across Sevier and Piute counties and 34,943 acres in the France Canyon Fire in Garfield County. Fire camps on incidents like those run long rotations, and firefighters come off the line with soot in everything. After a strong earthquake or a flood, displaced households and relief workers face the same need while homes and laundromats sit without water. A laundry unit at the camp or the relief yard gives them clean clothes every day.
Film and TV wardrobe
The Utah Film Commission counted 36 incentive-supported productions in 14 counties in 2025, with more than 2,600 jobs. Location shoots in the mountains and the red rock country run costumes through wash after wash, often hours from a studio. Extra washers and dryers at base camp take the load off the wardrobe department's own trailer.
Shelters, outreach and public health
Shelters, warming centers and outreach programs rent a portable laundry unit for a winter season or a set contract. Clean clothes help with health, job interviews and basic dignity, and a unit on site reaches people who cannot get to a laundromat. We plan placement, power and service around the program's hours.
Resorts, parks and seasonal staff housing
Ski resorts around Park City and the Cottonwood canyons, and the park towns of Springdale, Kanab and Moab, all house seasonal staff. Staff housing tends to have too few machines for the people living there. A self-contained laundry unit at a staff camp handles the overflow for the whole season.
Lay out the job, the crew and the dates. Call (801) 788-4080 or request a quote and we will match the trailer to the job.
Utah winter, wildfire and earthquake plan for temporary laundry units

Winter is the first thing to plan for on most Utah laundry rentals. Valley nights sit below freezing for weeks, and mountain sites near Park City, Heber or the Uinta foothills stay cold for months. Freeze planning for tanks, hoses and supply lines goes into the site plan before delivery.
Snow changes access too. Canyon roads, ranch tracks and Basin lease roads can be icy or drifted, so we confirm a plowed route to the pad and a spot where the unit will not sit in a snowmelt puddle come spring. Inversions settle into the Salt Lake Valley in the coldest stretches, which is also when shelter and warming programs feel the most pressure.
Summer and fall are fire season. Fires in the Fishlake, Dixie and Manti-La Sal forests can run for weeks, and fire camps need laundry for the length of the incident. Agencies and contractors that line up laundry before the season begins have one less call to make when a camp goes up.
Earthquakes keep no calendar. The Wasatch Fault runs the length of the Wasatch Front, and the magnitude 5.7 Magna earthquake on March 18, 2020 brought 2,590 aftershocks and more than 30,000 felt reports. After a strong quake, broken water mains can leave whole neighborhoods without water, and relief crews and displaced families still need clean clothes. If weather, fire or a quake affects your site, we will call you, secure or move the unit as needed and put it back to work once roads are safe.

How renting a self-contained laundry unit works

1. Send us your dates and site
Give us the site address, the start date, the head count and how long the job lasts. A few photos of the spot help, especially on a lease road or a mountain lot.
2. We review power, water and access
We match the unit to your numbers and look at ground, slope, gate width, power, water and winter access. If the site has no power, we build the generator plan into the quote.
3. On-site delivery and install
Our team delivers the unit, levels it, connects power, water and waste where they exist, starts the climate system, runs a test load and walks your site lead through the machines.
4. We service it and haul it out
On long rentals we pump waste and bring water on a set schedule and change it as the head count grows or shrinks. When the job wraps up, we haul the unit out and leave the pad clean.
Permits, sanitation rules and placement for laundry trailers in Utah

Placement rules for a laundry unit depend on the city, the county and whoever owns the land. We work through placement, utilities and the site plan as part of the quote, and we supply the unit dimensions and power needs for any application you file.
Utah runs its own workplace safety program, Utah Occupational Safety and Health, under the state Labor Commission, which covers most private employers in the state. On construction sites, the federal sanitation rule 29 CFR 1926.51 lists washing facilities alongside toilets and drinking water. Many contractors fold a laundry unit into that same sanitation plan on long jobs where workers live near the site.
Washer wastewater does not go on the ground. It collects in each unit's onboard waste tank and leaves through licensed hauling and permitted disposal. On sites with a sewer connection, we tie in where the owner allows it. Your local health department has the final say on disposal rules, and we plan around them.
For placement, each unit needs a firm, fairly level spot, a clear truck route and the right power within 100 feet. Fire camps and incident sites follow the incident's own layout, and the unit goes where the camp plan puts it. For earthquake planning on the Wasatch Front, the Utah Geological Survey publishes fault maps that many facility managers use when choosing a staging spot.
For the source material, see Utah Occupational Safety and Health at the Labor Commission, the federal construction sanitation rule 29 CFR 1926.51 and the Utah Geological Survey’s fault and hazard information.

“Very professional and on time with a clean unit. The combo trailer gave our survey team showers and a washer and dryer out in the west desert. Highly recommended.”

“What a relief to have a clean, well kept laundry unit for the guests in our winter program in Salt Lake County. Great support the whole season, and the crew showed our volunteers how every machine works.”

“Polite, professional and easy to work with every time. They set a laundry trailer at our turnaround in Davis County, handled the power and hookups and kept it spotless. That kind of reliability is why we keep calling them back.”

“Friendly people and a really nice trailer. Our wardrobe team used it on a long location shoot near Moab and it was cleaner than the laundromat in town. You guys are the best.”
Questions about laundry trailer rentals in Utah
Can the unit handle a Utah winter?
Yes. Winter work is routine for these units. On your side, keep the door side shoveled and salted so people carrying full baskets have safe footing on the stairs, and leave a clear lane so the service truck can reach the tank connections on every visit.
Our site is remote with no power. Can we still rent one?
Yes. The 8-Station needs two 50 amp, 240 volt circuits within 100 feet, and the combo needs one 220 volt, 50 amp circuit or two 110 volt, 20 amp circuits. Where none of that exists, as on many Basin and west desert sites, we arrange a generator plan as part of the rental.
How do water and waste work?
We connect to water and sewer where a site has them. Where it does not, we deliver water and pump the 750 gallon waste tank on a schedule set by your head count. Waste leaves by licensed hauling to permitted disposal.
We have a crew of 20 to 30 that also needs showers. What fits?
The 4-Station Combo. It gives you four private baths, each with a toilet, sink, shower and outlet, plus a separate laundry room with a stacked washer and dryer. It serves groups of up to about 30 people in one footprint.
What crew size fits one 8-Station?
That depends on loads per person per week and how dirty the work gets. Turnaround coveralls and fire camp clothing need washing after almost every shift, while staff housing may need far less. Tell us the head count and the type of work, and we will size it with you, adding a second unit when the numbers call for it.
How fast can you come for a fire, flood or earthquake?
Call the 24/7 line with the incident address and head count. We dispatch rapidly and offer same-day delivery when a unit is free, and we do our best to get it to you as quickly as possible.
How far ahead should we book a planned job?
As soon as your dates are firm. Summer construction and fire season are the busiest stretches in Utah, and turnaround dates are usually set months out, so put the laundry unit on the same schedule as the rest of the job.
Can a laundry unit stay on a job for the whole project?
Yes. Many contractors keep one for months. We set a pumping and water schedule, change it as the crew grows or shrinks and swap units if the job changes.
Can you get a unit up a canyon or onto a lease road?
Often, yes. Send us photos of the route and the pad. We check grade, turns, gate width and winter conditions before the truck leaves, and we will tell you plainly if a spot will not work and suggest one that will.
Does a film or TV production use these?
Yes. Wardrobe departments put a unit at base camp to wash costumes between scenes and shoot days, which helps most on long location runs in the mountains or the red rock country.
Can a shelter or outreach program rent one for the winter?
Yes. Shelters, warming centers and outreach programs rent units for a season or a contract term. We plan placement, power and service around the program's hours and the site's layout.
Are the machines commercial grade?
Yes. The 8-Station carries eight industrial washers and eight dryers with a full wash and dry cycle, built for heavy loads all day. The combo uses a stacked washer and dryer in its own room.
What should our site have ready before the truck pulls in?
Mark the pad with cones or paint, move parked equipment off the truck route and have one person on site who knows where the breaker panel, water spigot and sewer cleanout are. On a camp, tell the bunkhouse leads where the laundry will sit so the first evening goes smoothly.
Do you rent laundry units outside Utah?
This page covers Utah, where our laundry units work statewide. Out-of-state orders are handled by arrangement, with the West Coast as our core and emergency, disaster and long-term rentals farther out. Call with the address and dates, or see our nationwide laundry trailer page.
