Self-Contained Shower Unit Rentals in Orem With Ramped, Roll-In Rooms for Every Person on Site
Every self-contained shower unit rental in Orem can include a ramped, accessible room, because The Lavatory keeps its ADA trailers in the active lineup instead of hunting for one after you book. The ADA + 2 Private Shower Trailer pairs two standard rooms with one ADA room behind a self-contained ramp. For anyone booking in Orem, the Single-Station ADA Shower and Restroom Combo packs a roll-in shower with a seat and hand wand, an ADA toilet with grab bars and a ramp into one trailer that sets up in minutes. Either one parks beside a larger trailer, so a camp, an outreach line or a job site covers every person on day one. Dates in busy weeks go first, so many customers lock theirs in months out, and a quieter week booked early will usually carry the lowest rate. An emergency reserve stays ready to roll on short notice, but no single trailer is ever guaranteed, so call now or request your free quote today.
Why Choose The Lavatory for Portable Showers in Orem
Every trailer is ours
The Lavatory is a direct rental company that never sub-rents or brokers. The unit on your site belongs to us, gets cleaned by our team and follows our service plan.
A real answer at any hour
Our dispatch line answers every call 24/7, and proprietary AI dispatch software plans routes and service visits. Same-day delivery is the goal on every urgent order.
Deluxe finish, work-site tough
Inside, you get AC and heat on a smart thermostat, with smooth fiberglass on every wall, the ceiling and the floor. Nice enough for a film set or a glamping weekend, tough enough for a fire camp or a road crew.
Photos of the real unit
Ask for pictures and you get our own job photos of the trailer you are renting, never stock images. What you see in the photo is what backs up to your site.
One plan for town and canyon
A site up American Fork Canyon or along the Alpine Loop gets the same service plan as a lot on State Street. Tell us the road and the last turn, and we size the trailer to fit.

“We had their trailer on our yard for months, and the team stayed responsive the whole way. When our night schedule changed, they moved the service visits without any fuss. The rooms stayed clean and the hot water never quit.”

“We brought these up for girls camp and the girls loved them. Private rooms, real hot water, and they kept them tidy because it felt like a real bathroom. Well cared for, and the people behind it are kind.”

“Clean showers and a toilet that actually flushes on a campout. Easy to book. Five stars.”
National Brands Behind Our Private Shower Suites
Our repeat clients include some of the biggest names in business, because a bad shower at a base camp or a film set becomes the story of the whole job. Google, Tesla, Target and BMW count on The Lavatory for large job sites, and the same owned fleet stages showers for road and utility work in Orem.

Around Orem we regularly work with road, utility and building contractors, outreach programs, churches and shelter partners, as well as orchard growers, ranches and fair organizers.
People ask for us again because the trailer shows up stocked and heated and stays that way. For a crew on a Geneva Road job yard, a team at a Timpanogos canyon camp or a two week remodel, it stays on a set service plan. Every unit we send holds that same standard, whatever city or site it goes to.
The Private Shower Trailer Lineup Ready for Utah Valley Jobs
Most sites in Orem have water and power close by, so the 8-Station can tie into hookups and serve a full day, and the smaller combos park wherever a house or shop circuit reaches.

The Lavatory’s lineup covers every size of job, from a one-room accessible combo for a small crew to an 8-station camp trailer. Inside each unit you get AC and heat on a smart thermostat, and the smooth fiberglass surfaces wipe clean quickly between users. Each one is stocked and serviced by our team and works self-contained or on site hookups. Look through our private shower trailer rentals across Utah, then call with your head count and we will pick the unit that fits.
The 8-Station Private Shower Trailer is the big camp unit. Only the 8-Station has an exterior bank of four hand wash sinks, so a big camp gets its handwashing outside the shower rooms. It draws power from one 50 amp 220 volt circuit and takes a septic tie-in when a job runs for months.
For smaller jobs, the 4-Station Shower, Restroom and Laundry Combo gives four private bathrooms, each with a toilet, sink, shower and outlet, plus a washer and dryer in a separate room. Its rating of about 30 people means a crew that lives with the unit, using the toilets, showers and laundry all day, so the number reads lower than a shower-only trailer. The ADA + 2 Private Shower Trailer has shower rooms only, so its rating counts shower visits in a day, and its three rooms handle about 50 of those. The 2-Station Shower and Restroom Combo puts two private bathrooms in an 11 foot box on two 120 volt 20 amp circuits, a good fit for a remodel driveway. Any of these can share one site.
What every shower unit comes with
Private rooms with a lockable door
Each shower is its own closed room that locks from inside, never a stall behind a curtain, which a road crew on the 1600 North job notices after a long shift.
Hot and cold water controls
A water heater and the onboard tanks send hot and cold water to separate controls in every room, and the 1.5 GPM heads are sized so a full crew finishing together on a long day still gets a warm rinse.
Air conditioning and heat
August afternoons in Utah County can pass 100 degrees and January mornings near the foothills turn bitter, so every trailer carries both heating and air conditioning to keep crews and wildfire responders comfortable in the room.
One-piece gel-coated fiberglass
The walls, ceiling and floor form one molded gel-coated fiberglass surface with no seams, which suits a busy day at a UVU event or a work site where dozens of people cycle through, because a quick wipe leaves it fresh.
Runs with or without hookups
Fresh and waste tanks on board, a generator when the site has no power, and the option to tie into on-site septic on a long deployment.
Serviced, stocked and pumped
On a job that lasts months, like the 1600 North widening or a building project at UVU, we come back to pump the waste tank, restock supplies and clean, so the trailer looks the same on day twelve as it did on the first morning.
From one accessible room to a full camp: our shower trailers in Orem
The lineup starts with a single accessible room and reaches camps that serve 200 people a day. Tell us whether you have a ten person framing crew or a large gathering near UVU, how long it lasts, and what water and power the site offers, and we will size it.

Why program managers budget for an on-site shower trailer first

Every rental from The Lavatory includes delivery, leveling, hookup, cleaning, restocking, pumping and pickup, so the quote you get is the whole job. Nothing lands on your own staff.
A crew that showers on site skips the drive to a gym or a motel, and on a 30 person crew that saves paid time every single day. Call with your head count and dates, and you get a free quote that shows exactly what is included.
Booking a portable shower trailer for the area in four steps
The Lavatory keeps booking to four steps, with honest answers and one team that stays with you from the first call to pickup.
Give us the date and the place
Send your dates, a rough head count and where the trailer will sit, say a job yard off Geneva Road, and we will recommend the unit and number.
We pick the size and the spot
We confirm water and power, bring a generator and water if needed, and pick the spot ahead so a tight lot takes one trip.
We deliver and set it up
We level and connect it, heat the water and stock every room before the first person walks in.
We keep it clean, then haul it away
Our support line stays open for the whole job, and when the work wraps up the crew comes back and removes the trailer.
Temporary Shower Trailer Rentals for Orchard, Harvest and Ranch Work in Utah County

For orchard, packing and ranch crews in Utah County, The Lavatory parks a 4-Station combo at crew housing, with four private bathrooms and a washer and dryer, or a 2-Station combo beside a packing shed for an added shift. We plan water and pumping around the longest days, so the trailer is full and clean when work ends.
The orchards south of Orem around Payson, Santaquin and Spanish Fork usually pick tart cherries from mid-July into early August. A spring freeze cut the 2026 crop and kept crews small this year. A normal season brings full crews back, and we size the order to the crew you actually hire.
Fair and rodeo week at the Spanish Fork Fairgrounds brings exhibitors and livestock hands who stay several days. A combo unit near the barns gives them a hot shower without a drive to town.
Farms and ranches with no spare bathroom get the same plan. Tell us the head count, the water source and how long the work lasts, then call or request a free quote.
Mobile Shower Units for Road, Utility and Construction Work on the Wasatch Front

For road, utility and building crews in Orem, The Lavatory sets a hot-water shower trailer by the yard gate on firm, level ground, with cleaning timed around your shifts. For the 1600 North widening, one 4-Station combo with private bathrooms and a washer and dryer works well for a crew of 20 to 30 coming off the same shift. When 100 or more people work staggered shifts, one 8-Station covers the whole camp.
Orem has steady work for these crews. UDOT’s 1600 North widening between 1200 West and State Street runs through late fall 2027, with day crews and night utility crews. When the night crew finishes as the day crew arrives, we clean and restock between the two so both find the rooms ready.
Campus and retail building adds more. UVU broke ground on its Scott M. Smith College of Engineering and Technology building, and a Home Depot was approved for University Place. Crews who travel in for months need a place to clean up close to the work.
Call with your crew size and shift times for a free quote, and add a second unit the day the crew grows.
Top Industries We Serve With Portable Shower Trailers in Orem
Orem is a built-up city with water and sewer on most blocks, so a portable shower trailer here usually goes where the bathrooms are not finished yet or where there are not enough of them. After years of placing units along the Wasatch Front, three kinds of work bring the most requests, and each one gets planned a little differently. The list stays open: youth camps, film sets, fire support, remodels and events follow below.
Hot-Water Shower Rooms for Outreach and Hygiene Programs Around Orem

Our shower trailers bring hot, private showers to outreach and hygiene programs around Orem, set up where the people are. Last winter the Utah County Winter Task Force, with Orem as a sponsoring city, ran one overnight warming center in Provo, and the county found more than 90 percent of the unsheltered people it located in Provo, Orem and Springville.
The fixed showers that exist are already busy. The Food and Care Coalition in Provo reported 50,769 showers offered in 2025, along with 11,189 loads of laundry, all at its own site. We found no mobile shower program in the county. A rented trailer fills that gap for a clinic day, a church outreach event, a cold snap or any program that needs showers where a fixed building cannot reach.
Privacy comes first in our planning. Each room on the 8-Station has its own locking door, so one person showers at a time with hot water and heat. Lines move because eight rooms work at once. For a program that also washes bedding and clothes, the 4-Station Shower, Restroom and Laundry Combo adds a washer and dryer in a separate room, which helps on a long winter day.
After years of hygiene days, the most common problem is supply: towels, soap, socks and a volunteer to keep the line calm. Programs bring the people and the towels. The Lavatory brings clean, stocked units, sets the water and waste plan, and services them on the schedule you choose. A shower never replaces housing, and we never pretend it does. It does give someone a hot shower and a little dignity during a hard week.
More Jobs Our Deluxe Shower Trailers Cover Around Utah Valley
Youth camps up the canyons above Orem
Multi-day camps in the canyons get private, heated showers in place of a cold creek. A 2-Station or 4-Station combo fits most camp roads and gives each camper a room that locks.
Film and TV base camps in Utah Valley
Productions shooting around the valley need a clean, good-looking unit near the trailers and catering. Gel-coated rooms and smart thermostats suit cast and crew on long shoot days.
Campground evacuations and fire support
The Timp Fire in July 2026 forced evacuations at Timpooneke Campground and Mutual Dell in American Fork Canyon.
Remodels with the only bathroom torn out
A family mid-remodel can park a 2-Station combo in the driveway and keep showering at home. It draws power from two household 20 amp circuits and takes water from a hose bib.
Load-in crews at the UCCU Center and campus venues
Concert and graduation load-ins at the UCCU Center, about 8,000 seats on the UVU campus, make for long days. A mobile shower trailer near the loading dock lets a touring crew clean up between the build and the show.
If your job is not on this list, call anyway. Plenty of the requests we get in Utah Valley start with a site we have never seen, and we plan each one from photos and a map pin.
Inside and out: our private shower trailers near the Orem area
Photos of our shower trailers on the job, at base camps, jobsites, race weekends, productions and relief sites, the same long stays you see on work around Orem.

Keeping private shower trailers clean through a long Orem-area job
Setup matters on a tight staging lot or a sloped canyon pad, so our crew delivers, levels and sets the trailer, connects water and power or stages a generator and water supply, starts the heater and stocks every room before first use, then hauls it away when the job ends.
Longer or busy bookings get scheduled pumping and restocking visits, which suits a job that lasts many months. For a fire response camp near the Timpanogos foothills, or any site where people use the showers all day, an attendant can stay on to keep the units clean from the first morning to the last.
Water, Waste and ADA Basics for On-Site Shower Trailers in Utah
A rental trailer works differently. Shower water drains into the unit’s own waste tank, and that waste is pumped on a schedule and hauled to approved disposal, or tied into the site’s sewer or septic on a long job. The local health office has the final word on any waste plan, and we follow its call.
Accessible rooms on our ADA units are built to federal ADA requirements. If a job carries its own accessibility spec, such as an agency contract or a campus standard, send it with your quote request and we match the unit to it before delivery.
Federal workplace safety rules can require washing facilities on construction and farm jobs, and your site’s safety plan is what settles whether a shower is needed. Event rules from the Utah County Health Department set sanitation and drinking water minimums at large gatherings. Our hot-water shower trailer rentals in Utah County are planned around whichever rules apply to your site, and we ask about them on the first call.
The accessibility and placement details we take care of in Orem
- When the public gathers at a UVU campus event, our accessible unit offers a ramp, roll in shower, fold down seat, hand wand, grab bars and a lower sink.
- We help pick ground that is flat, simple to reach and easy to service, which matters on the tight lots along State Street and the sloped edges near the foothills.
- We arrange water and power ahead of delivery, and we bring a generator and water supply when a new subdivision lot has neither yet.
- Every unit we send is licensed and insured.
Where a trailer can sit, how it handles accessibility and where its wastewater goes may be decided by the property owner, Orem city staff or Utah County health officials. Once we know your site we can plan around those points, but please check permit needs with them directly before the trailer arrives.
How self-contained shower units gets planned for the jobs we see most in greater Orem
Road project manager with night utility crews
When a night crew and a day crew share one yard, we time the service visit between shifts so the rooms are clean and stocked before the next crew walks in. The trailer sits near the gate on level ground so trucks never block it.
Youth camp director up a canyon road
When a camp sits up a narrow canyon road, we check the turns and grade first, then pick the trailer that fits. A 2-Station or 4-Station combo usually suits a camp of a few dozen, and we fill fresh water before it arrives.
Relief coordinator after a campground evacuation
If an agency is paying for the camp, we already hold the registration it asks for.

Compare each layout in our UT portable VIP shower trailers. The same fleet reaches events and jobsites well beyond this city through our deluxe climate-controlled shower trailer rental in UT. For a venue elsewhere in the state, start from our private shower trailer rentals near Orem.
University Place and State Street
Retail and office work around University Place and along State Street brings tenant buildouts where restrooms stay torn out for weeks. A 2-Station combo fits a tight lot behind a store.
Geneva Road corridor
Industrial and tech park work along Geneva Road means bigger lots and longer jobs. The 8-Station has room to park here, with space left for a water truck.
Center Street west of Geneva
The city is widening Center Street from Geneva Road to 1330 West, so road and utility crews work this stretch. A trailer on a side lot keeps the lanes clear.
UVU and University Parkway
Campus building and events at the UCCU Center bring long load-ins and construction days. Units park near a loading dock or a staging yard with hookups close by.
Orem North, Cascade and Suncrest
These are mostly home neighborhoods, so requests are remodels where the only bathroom is gutted. Driveway placement on house power is the usual plan.
Orem, Provo and Nearby Cities Where We Deliver Shower Units
North Utah County
Lehi’s new freeway link between Mountain View Corridor and I-15 and the big builds in Eagle Mountain keep long-term crews in the north end.
Provo, Vineyard and Lindon
The county warming center and the busiest fixed showers sit in Provo, while Vineyard and Lindon add new homes and road work next door to Orem.
South Utah County
Interchange and widening work between Spanish Fork and Springville plus the orchards around Payson and Santaquin drive requests here.
Canyons and Foothills
Youth camps, retreats and fire-season support sit up American Fork Canyon, along the Alpine Loop and above Alpine, Pleasant Grove, Cedar Hills and Mapleton.

Before you book self-contained shower units
How do your portable shower trailers line up with CAL FIRE and Forest Service requirements if a fire camp opens near Orem?
CAL FIRE is California’s fire agency, so a fire in Utah County is usually run by the U.S. Forest Service or state fire officials. Our 8-Station carries CAL FIRE approval as proof it meets a large agency’s standards, and The Lavatory also supports U.S. Forest Service and FEMA work. Each incident sets its own camp needs for water, waste and hygiene, and we match the order to that request. Tell us the camp’s head count and shift hours, and we plan water and pumping around them.
Do you clean and restock the trailer during a multi-week job, or do we need our own attendant?
Cleaning, restocking, fresh water and pumping come with the rental on a set schedule that fits your shifts. On a long job most customers pick the days and times that work around shift changes. If your site needs more frequent visits, tell us when you book and we plan the service around it. You never have to scrub the rooms yourself.
Will one 8-station trailer cover a crew of 120 that all changes shifts at the same time?
Probably not in a single hour. Eight rooms with seven-minute showers handle roughly 60 to 70 people an hour, so 120 people at once means a long line. Staggering shift ends by half an hour, or adding a second unit, fixes it. The 8-Station’s daily capacity assumes water hookups or refills through the day, so tell us your water source too.
Can you deliver a mobile shower trailer to a narrow lot or a canyon camp road in Orem today?
Drop a map pin and a few photos showing where the trailer goes and how the truck gets in. We need a fairly level pad, clearance for the truck to back in and no low branches or soft dirt. Our team levels the trailer on arrival and connects water and power if the site has them.
Is a hot-water shower trailer usable during an Orem cold snap or a July heat wave?
Yes. Orem’s January lows sit near 20 degrees and the record low is minus 20, set in February 1989, so the weak point in winter is the outside supply hose; we insulate it and keep the unit powered. Summer runs the other way: July highs average in the low 90s and hit 107 on July 12, 2026, which pushes water use up, so we plan more refills on hot weeks.
Where does the gray water go, and how often is the waste tank pumped?
Shower water drains into the trailer’s own waste tank, which holds 950 gallons on the 8-Station, more than four times its fresh tank. Our team pumps the tank on a schedule based on your head count and hours, then hauls the water to an approved disposal site. When a job lasts for months, we can connect the trailer to a septic or sewer line so the tank needs pumping much less often. None of it goes onto the ground or into a storm drain, and the local health office makes the final call.
What does it take to scale up to a camp with several temporary shower trailers?
Three things: a water plan, a power plan and a waste plan for the whole camp, plus a layout so lines do not cross. We look at the site map, place units near sleeping or staging areas and keep a clear lane for the service truck. Adding trailers as a camp grows is normal work for us. Call early for big camps so we can stage everything on time.
When does the cost of a private shower trailer rental go up or down?
Busy dates cost more, so asking early about a slower date is how you get the best rate. The other drivers are the number of units and rooms, how long you keep them, distance and road access, whether the site has hookups, how often we service and any accessible units. We never quote a number on a web page; call with your details and you get a real quote fast.
Do the shower rooms have a private toilet too?
Yes, on the combo units: every private room in the 4-Station, 2-Station and Single-Station ADA models comes with its own toilet, sink and shower. The 8-Station and the ADA + 2 are shower rooms only. If you want restrooms on site as well, we pair a restroom trailer from the same fleet.
What is the smallest shower unit you rent?
The Single-Station ADA combo is our smallest unit and has one accessible room. After that comes the 2-Station combo, which sits in an 11 foot trailer body. Both suit a remodel, a small crew or a short camp, and both draw from regular 120 volt circuits.
Will a generator be too loud next to homes in North Orem?
Most sites in Orem have power close by, so a generator is often not needed at all. The combos draw from two 120 volt 20 amp circuits, and the 8-Station uses one 50 amp 220 volt circuit, which an electrician can set up at most job yards. If a generator is the only choice, we place it as far from homes as the site allows.
Planning Guides for Multi-Station Shower Trailer Rentals in Orem
Our planning guides below help hosts and site managers size a trailer, pick a spot and time delivery, including how many showers a long road project or a big event near campus needs.
What to Ask Before You Rent a Portable Shower Trailer for a Job in Orem
A good rental starts with a good phone call. After years of placing units around Utah Valley, the jobs that go smoothly are the ones where both sides asked the right questions early. This list is what our dispatch team walks through on every call, and it helps to have your answers ready before you pick up the phone or fill out a quote form.
Start with people and hours. How many people will shower, and in what window? Forty people who all finish at the same moment need more rooms than forty people who clean up at different times of the day. Tell us about shift changes, which days the job works and whether anyone works nights. Shift timing matters more than total head count when we pick the number of rooms.
Next, water. Is there a hose bib, hydrant or building tap within reach of where the trailer will park? If so, the unit can run on hookups all day. If not, it works self-contained from its fresh tank, and we plan refills. Ask how many showers a full tank covers for your crew, and ask what happens if the site supply drops in the middle of a shift.
Then power. Ask which circuit the unit needs and where it will plug in. A long extension cord from a house panel is not the same as a dedicated circuit, and an undersized feed is the most common setup problem we see. If the site has no power, ask about a generator and where it should sit so it stays away from homes, offices and sleeping areas.
Ask about waste early. Where will the shower water go, and who handles it? Ask how often the tank gets pumped, whether a septic or sewer hookup fits a long job, and whether the local health office has to approve the plan. A clear waste plan keeps the trailer open for the whole job. A vague one is how trailers end up locked on day three.
Look hard at the ground. Is the spot level or close to it, and can a truck back a trailer in without tight turns, low branches or soft dirt? Send photos and a map pin. Canyon roads above Orem, gravel yards and lots behind stores all work, but each gets planned differently.
Ask what the people using it will notice. Is every room private with a locking door? Are the walls a hard surface that cleans well, or something that holds grime?
Ask what service includes and how often it comes. Good service means cleaning, restocking and pumping visits that are timed to when your people are on site. Ask how long the rental runs, what happens if the job runs long and how quickly a second unit can join if the crew grows.
We also provide mobile shower unit rentals throughout the West, so the same team that plans your Orem job can plan the next one out of state. Have your head count, dates and a site photo ready, then call or request a free quote.
Temporary Showers and Utah County Event Permits: What the Health Office Decides
People planning a camp, retreat or big gathering in Utah County often ask whether a shower trailer needs a permit. The honest answer depends on the size of the gathering, and the person who decides is the local health officer, not the rental company. Here is what the county’s mass gathering rules cover and where showers fit.
The trigger is attendance. Utah’s temporary mass gathering rule, R392-400, applies to 1,000 or more people for two or more hours a day. Utah County’s application says events with 999 or fewer total attendees are exempt from permitting. A youth camp of 150 or a crew camp of 80 sits well under that line.
Above the line, the permit comes from the Utah County Health Department. The rule sets minimums for toilets, sanitation, drinking water, trash and waste. Toilet counts climb with both crowd size and hours on site, and the county adds 40 percent where alcohol is served. The county also requires that five percent of toilets be accessible, and never fewer than one.
Portable toilets have to sit at least 100 feet from any food service, and no more than 300 feet from where people are gathered, so we plan the spacing before the event starts. If you rent a combo trailer with toilets inside, ask the health office whether it counts toward your toilet total, and plan its spot with those distances in mind.
Showers are a different story. We did not find a shower minimum in the state rule or in the county application. Showers are something you add because people are staying for days, working hard or camping on site. Any trailer that holds waste still falls under the health office’s say on disposal, so put the shower trailer in your written plan along with the toilets.
Time limits matter for long events. A temporary mass gathering may not run more than 16 days in a row without the health officer’s approval. Multi-week events and anything close to that limit should talk to the county early. Some Utah health districts ask for applications 30 days ahead, so ask Utah County for its timeline before you lock dates.
Hygiene days and outreach events at a church or park are usually small enough that they rarely reach the permit line. They still need a waste plan and a clear path for the line, and a short call to the health office heads off surprises on the day.
Private ground is simplest. If the trailer will sit on a street, in a public lot or in a city park, check with the city about where it can park and for how long. Parks and public lots often carry their own reservation steps that have nothing to do with health rules.
The Lavatory helps with the paperwork side by sending unit specs, tank sizes and service plans whenever a health office asks for them. Call with your attendance estimate, the number of days and the site address, and we will match the trailers to what the county requires.
Shower Trailer, Gym Passes or Plumbed Temporary Showers: An Honest Comparison for Utah Valley Projects
Not every job needs a rented trailer. Some crews do fine with gym memberships, and some long projects plumb temporary showers into a building. After years of these calls, here is how the three options compare, plainly, so you can pick the right one for your site.
Gym passes work for small crews close to town with flexible hours. Orem has gyms near most job sites, and a crew of five that finishes at different times can use them. The catch is time. Every trip off site is lost time, and a crew of 30 leaving at once ties up trucks and parking. Gyms also close at night, so a crew finishing before dawn has few choices.
Plumbed temporary showers make sense on a long job inside a finished shell, where water, drains and power already sit in the walls. They cost a contractor labor and materials to build and tear out, and they stay in one place. If the work moves down the road, as road and utility jobs do, those showers stay behind.
A self-contained shower trailer sits between the two. It arrives ready, needs no building work and moves when the job moves. It works on hookups or its own tanks, so it fits a gravel yard, a canyon camp or a church parking lot. The tradeoff is space: you need a level spot and room for a truck to back in.
Privacy changes the choice for some groups. A gym locker room is shared. Our rooms lock, one person at a time, which is a must for outreach programs, mixed crews and youth camps where shared showers will not work.
Service is another real difference. With a gym, the gym cleans. With plumbed showers, your crew cleans or you pay someone to. With The Lavatory, the rental includes cleaning, restocking and pumping, all on the schedule you pick.
Weather tilts it too. Crews on the 1600 North widening start early and finish dusty, and a shower trailer parked at the job lets them rinse off and change on site instead of riding home in damp work clothes.
There are times a trailer is the wrong call. If the building already has working showers, we will tell you on the call that renting a trailer would only cost you money. We say so on the phone, because a customer who trusts our advice calls back for the next job.
A simple rule of thumb: count heads, count days and count the miles to the nearest shower. More than about ten people, more than a few days or more than a short drive, and a trailer usually wins. Call with those three numbers and we will tell you honestly which way to go.
Planning Shower Water Use in Orem During Utah’s 2026 Drought
Water is a public issue in Utah this year. Governor Spencer Cox declared a statewide drought emergency on May 21, 2026, after the warmest winter on record and the lowest snowpack ever measured. All 29 counties are in severe drought. For anyone planning showers for a crew or a camp, water use is a fair question, and it has a clear answer.
Each shower head on our trailers is metered to 1.5 gallons for every minute it runs. A crew of ten that takes five minutes each uses about 75 gallons, and at seven minutes each same crew uses about 105. Those numbers are low next to many home showers, and they make planning simple.
Our 8-Station trailer brings its own freshwater tank for the crew on the 1600 North widening, so the first shift can start without waiting on a hookup. At five minutes a person, a full tank covers roughly 26 showers before a refill; at seven minutes, about 19. That is enough to get a crew started, not enough for a full day with a big group. A site tap or scheduled water deliveries carry the rest of the day.
Our 105 gallon fresh tank on the 2-Station, 4-Station and Single-Station ADA combos is enough for a small crew or a short day, while the ADA + 2 carries 210 gallons because it serves three rooms. When a job at a spot like UVU or along the 1600 North widening goes longer, we hook up to a site tap, and most lots in Orem have one within reach. A small crew or a short day can get by on those tanks alone. For anything longer, a hookup to a site tap is the easy answer, and most lots in Orem have one within reach.
Shower length is the biggest lever you control. A posted five-minute guideline at the door and a short, orderly line keep use down. Programs that serve many people find that a gentle time limit keeps lines short and the water supply steady without making anyone feel rushed.
Waste water is the other side of the plan. Every gallon that goes in comes out as gray water into the waste tank, which is why big jobs schedule pumping alongside refills. When the two schedules match, the trailer stays open and nobody waits on a truck.
Heat changes the numbers. On July days in the 90s, more people shower and they stay in a little longer. Plan for extra water during the hottest weeks, especially for outdoor crews who finish covered in dust.
The drought order directs state agencies to follow the Division of Water Resources weekly watering guide, and cities and water districts may post their own limits. If yours posts limits that affect your site, tell us and we plan the tank and refill schedule around them.
Good water planning also keeps your costs steady, since fewer emergency refills mean fewer extra trips. Call with your head count and how long people tend to shower, and we will lay out a water and pumping plan that fits your site.
