Peak season dates book months ahead, above all for weddings, and pricing is demand-based, so book early. Last-minute date? Emergency reserve ADA trailers stay ready to go out at a moment’s notice, though no specific unit is guaranteed, so the sooner you call the better. Call (415) 212-7550 or request a quote and we will size the trailer to your San Francisco dates.

Placement planned first

ADA accessible restroom trailer rentals in San Francisco, placed on level ground from the start

The Lavatory plans where the ramp lands before delivery day, not after the truck pulls up. In a city of hills, the most level spot is usually a wide driveway or a parking lot rather than the sloped curb out front. Our team looks at your photos for level ground, a clear path from the parking or the tent, and turning room at the door for a wheelchair and a caregiver. After years of setting accessible units on San Francisco lots, lawns and waterfront pads, we have the plan ready before the trailer is. Call now to talk it through, or request a free quote and send a photo of the spot.

The Lavatory difference on ADA restroom trailer rentals in San Francisco

One call, quote to pickup

Whoever picks up your first call stays with you through setup and pickup, so no one hands you off to another company. You never chase a second company for service or pickup.

A ramp on every ADA model

The ramp is built into each accessible trailer, and that includes the Single-Station combo, so nothing has to be hauled in or assembled separately. The ramp folds out in minutes, so there are no stairs between a wheelchair and the door.

China toilets and grab bars

Guests find a real flushing china toilet and running water at the sink in every room. The ADA room adds grab bars placed for a safe transfer.

Private rooms that lock

Every restroom behind its own door locks from the inside, so each guest gets privacy and room to take their time. A guest who needs extra time is never rushed by a knock or a shared stall.

Service visits on a schedule

During the rental our team cleans each room, tops off the paper and soap and pumps out the waste tank, on days we pick with you based on how many people use it. Long rentals get the same care on week four as on day one.

Eight years staging trailers here

Our crews have spent 8 years staging trailers in this market, from hillside streets to waterfront lots. That local history shows up in the planning, not the sales pitch.

Ready for guests of every age

A San Francisco family party can include a toddler, a teenager and a 90-year-old in one line. The ADA room gives the oldest guest a private, steady space with room for a helper.

Around San Francisco we regularly work with wedding couples and their planners, senior centers, churches and community halls, as well as festival producers, contractors and facility managers.

Repeat bookings come from steady upkeep, and an accessible room is the one guests notice most when it is missing. Every unit has to be clean, stocked and easy to get to each day of the job. That holds for every San Francisco booking, including the neighborhood street fairs that return each year.

Inside the trailer

Luxury ADA restroom and shower trailers sized for San Francisco sites

On a tight San Francisco lot, the ADA + 2 Restroom Trailer is the easiest fit, with three rooms in a footprint that suits a church lot or a wide driveway.

ADA trailer set up on a San Francisco Bay Area site

The smallest accessible unit is the Single-Station ADA Shower and Restroom Combo, and the largest is the seven-room ADA + 6 Restroom Trailer. Most San Francisco parties start with the ADA + 2 Restroom Trailer, which pairs standard rooms for women and men with one ADA unisex room. For a Saturday wedding with about 200 guests, or a job site crew of about 30 workers, this trailer gives everyone a room to use, including one with a ramp.

When a San Francisco festival draws a crowd of around 300, the ADA + 6 Restroom Trailer gives everyone one place to line up, with four men’s rooms, two women’s rooms and a unisex ADA room inside the same unit. Its tanks hold 200 gallons of fresh water and 475 gallons of waste, which is plenty for a long festival day. Like the rest of the line, it draws power from two 120 V 20 A circuits, and every room has a gel-coated fiberglass interior that wipes clean between service visits.

Two units carry showers. The ADA + 2 Private Shower Trailer has 2 standard private shower rooms and 1 ADA shower room with 1.5 GPM metered heads, for about 50 users. When a shelter guest needs a roll-in shower, the Single-Station combo puts a toilet, a sink, a seat and a hand wand in one trailer. Compare every model on our page for CA portable ADA restroom and shower trailer rental service, then call us to match one to your guest list.

Inside the ADA room, item by item

Self-contained ramp

Our ADA restroom and shower trailers arrive with their own ramp and handrails, so there is no separate ramp to rent or build on site.

Roomy accessible stall

At a busy reunion, the unisex room has grab bars, a porcelain toilet and space to turn a wheelchair around.

Accessible shower option

Crews on a SoMa build roll into the shower unit, sit on the seat and use the wand, with separate hot and cold controls.

Heat and air conditioning

Heat and air conditioning work year round, so a foggy, windy evening stays comfortable inside.

Runs with or without hookups

Onboard fresh and waste tanks, with a generator staged when the site has no power.

Serviced and stocked

It arrives stocked, and if the festival goes on for several days our crew comes back to pump waste, restock and clean.

Which of our ADA-compliant trailers fits your job

Choose from four accessible units, starting with one restroom for a small Richmond District gathering and reaching a crowd of about 300 in a city park. Share guest or crew numbers and any shower need, and we pick the fit.

Uses across the city

Temporary accessible bathroom trailers for parties, weddings, festivals and more in San Francisco

Three kinds of events ask for an accessible room most often here. Each brings its own guests, its own ground and its own timing, so each one gets its own plan.

Portable ADA restroom trailers for senior centers and family celebrations

ADA trailer staged outside San Francisco

About 20% of San Francisco residents are 60 or older, according to the city’s Human Services Agency, and that share keeps growing. A family party here often puts a grandma with a walker and a cousin in a wheelchair at the same table.

The ADA + 2 Restroom Trailer is our pick for milestone birthdays, family reunions, memorial gatherings and church hall lunches. The ADA room has grab bars, a china toilet and space for a helper to step in too. Guests who might skip a party because the house bathroom sits up a steep Victorian staircase can come and stay late.

Senior centers and care homes book the same unit for outdoor lunches, holiday open houses and anniversary events. On Lok’s 30th Street Senior Center serves more than 5,000 older adults a year, which shows how many people in this city rely on sites like these.

For a large community party with a few hundred guests, step up to the ADA + 6 Restroom Trailer. Tell us the guest count and send a photo of the lawn or lot, and we will say which trailer fits.

More ways we help

More uses for ADA-compliant restroom trailer rentals in San Francisco

Transbay and Mission Bay job sites

Construction work around the Salesforce Transit Center, including the under-ramp park slated to start in 2026, needs an accessible room for workers, inspectors and visitors. Workers, inspectors and visitors can all share one ADA + 2 Restroom Trailer on that site, as long as the number of people working there stays at about 30 or fewer.

Office and clinic restrooms under repair

When a building’s restrooms close for a remodel or a broken pipe, a trailer in the loading zone or the back lot lets staff and patients keep working. The ADA + 6 Restroom Trailer gives a busy floor seven rooms to share, so the line stays short.

Schools and city facility sites

Public sites need an accessible option any time the main restrooms are offline. We plan the unit around school bell times and city work orders, with service visits on a set schedule.

Film and photo shoots

Productions shooting on location around the city run long days with cast and staff on site. On a shoot that lasts several days, the Single-Station combo gives cast and crew a roll-in shower and a toilet without taking much space at the location.

After a Bay Area earthquake

The USGS puts the chance of a magnitude 6.7 or larger Bay Area quake in the next 30 years at 72%. When pipes break, ADA restroom and shower trailers can serve shelters and care sites while repairs happen.

Youth league days at city fields

Tournament days at city fields bring players, parents and grandparents to the sidelines for hours. An ADA + 2 Restroom Trailer near the parking lot spares everyone the walk to a distant field house.

Our Bay Area stock means a San Francisco festival or job site can add an ADA trailer to its order without a special request, and guests and crews all walk into the same room.

Festivals, concerts and fairs

Mobile ADA restroom trailers for festivals, concerts, fairs and races

ADA trailer set up on a San Francisco Bay Area site, wider view

Bay to Breakers drew more than 30,000 registered runners and walkers to its 114th race on May 17, 2026, finishing on the Great Highway at Ocean Beach. Crowds that size need accessible rooms near the finish line and the team tents, and at the start too.

Golden Gate Park hosts free Bandshell shows for much of the year, and Stern Grove runs free Sunday concerts each summer, June 14 to August 16 in 2026. Those lawns fill with families and older fans, and the closest permanent restroom can sit a long walk across wet grass.

Rec and Park sites like Golden Gate Park have room for a bigger setup, so the ADA + 6 Restroom Trailer goes in alongside standard luxury units and the accessible room ends up steps from the others.

For street fairs, brand events near Moscone Center and side stages around big weekends, we stage units on flat ground in SoMa and Mission Bay and service them on the schedule you set. When festival staff stay on site for several days, the ADA + 2 Private Shower Trailer covers showers for about 50 people.

Why it pays

Weighing ADA-compliant trailers against the rest of the budget

ADA trailer set up on a San Francisco Bay Area site, closer view

Service visits are a big part of any quote. A one-day reception may need none, while a three-day fair needs a visit each morning to refill fresh water, pump out waste and restock paper and soap.

Site access drives the rest, since a lot right off the street is quick to set up, while a backyard behind a narrow garage takes more work and a lawn with no outlet nearby means we add a generator to the quote.

Getting started

Booking accessible trailers, step by step

Hosting is hard enough, so ordering is four steps with a straight answer and one team owning everything from call to pickup.

1

Call or ask for a quote

Before we send a quote, we ask where the ramp will land at your San Francisco site, since hills and curb cuts change which accessible unit fits and how many you need.

2

We plan power, water and placement

We confirm the power on site and mark the placement on your photos, so a tight block takes one trip.

3

We bring it and hook it up

For an evening reception we level the unit, connect utilities and stock it before guests arrive.

4

Use it, we handle service and pickup

It stays on site for a fall conference weekend or a month of building, our service line is open throughout, and we return to take it away.

Permits and access

Permit rules for accessible portable restroom rentals in San Francisco

A Recreation and Park special event permit puts the organizer in charge of restrooms for the expected crowd, and our planning guide below walks through the accessible count. Events with 1,000 or more participants complete online ADA forms. Any event with a peak crowd over 1,000 also needs an approved emergency medical plan.

Other permits may apply depending on the event. Rec and Park lists a fire permit for tents and assembly, a health permit and road closure approval, plus a certificate of insurance naming the City and the Recreation and Park Department. Foam food containers are banned, and events of 100 or more people face limits on bottled water sales. Only the permit review decides which provisions fit your event.

Our accessible units meet federal ADA requirements and California’s accessibility standards. You secure the permit and the property owner’s OK. We give you the unit dimensions, tank sizes and power needs the permit office asks for, so your application goes in complete.

Accessibility and siting in San Francisco, handled

  • ADA restroom and shower trailers with a self-contained ramp, handrails, grab bars and a roomy unisex stall.
  • Guidance on placing the ramp on a level, firm path that guests can reach.
  • Water and power sorted before delivery, with a generator staged when the site has none.
  • Licensed and insured on every unit we put on the road.

Recreation and Park permits, school districts and private venues can each have their own rules about where an accessible restroom is allowed to sit. Tell us the address and our team plans the placement around those rules, and you can double check permit needs with the venue.

Weddings and receptions

San Francisco weddings and receptions with an ADA room for every guest

ADA trailer set up near Sausalito for festivals, concerts and fairs

The County Clerk performs over 7,000 City Hall weddings a year, about 28 on a typical day. Many of those couples head next to a park, a restaurant patio, a backyard or a rented hall for the reception, and that second stop is where an accessible room is often missing.

Park venues stay popular for good reason. The Golden Gate Club at the Presidio holds up to 300 guests, and the San Francisco Botanical Garden has a lawn sized for a tent. At lawn sites like these, the nearest permanent restroom can be a long walk for a guest with a cane.

For a reception with a guest list near 200, we would place the ADA + 2 Restroom Trailer so the ramp lands close to the tent and grandparents do not have to walk far. Inside, people find a private room with a flushing china toilet, a sink with running water and good lighting after sunset. Couples often tell us their older relatives stayed for the last dance because the bathroom was close and easy.

Once the guest list climbs toward 300, we bring the ADA + 6 Restroom Trailer so the line stays short, and it keeps the same finish as the smaller unit. We park it out of photo lines, behind a hedge or at the far edge of the tent, and pick it up once the party is over.

Delivery and service

Set, stocked and serviced: our ADA restroom trailers

Delivery in San Francisco often means working around street cleaning hours, tow-away lanes and Muni stops, so our dispatch team picks the truck route and the unloading window with you ahead of time. Your point person gets a call when the truck is close, and we return to take the unit away once the event is over. Our crew can plan power and water for both, including laundry trailers in San Francisco, California.

On a multi day festival or long building job in San Francisco, scheduled service and restocking keep the room the same on the last day as the first.

Typical jobs

Three job types and the ADA-compliant trailers setup for each

Family hosting a 90th birthday in an Outer Sunset backyard

When the backyard sits behind a narrow garage, we check the garage width and the driveway slope from your photos first. If the trailer cannot get into the yard, we park it on the most level part of the driveway and lay out a firm path to the party. The guest of honor reaches the ramp without crossing the lawn.

Planner setting up a tented reception on a Presidio lawn

When a reception sits on grass that stays damp from morning fog, we look for a paved edge or a firm pad near the tent. We line the ramp up with the tent opening so guests stay on a solid surface. The trailer stays out of the ceremony photos and close enough for guests using a cane.

Producer running a two-day street fair on a sloped block

When the block tilts, we look at the cross streets for the most level corner and the nearest curb cut. The ADA unit goes where a wheelchair can get to it from the sidewalk, and standard rooms fill in along the block. Service visits happen before the fair opens each morning.

SoMa and Mission Bay

Flat, wide blocks and large lots make SoMa one of the easiest places in the city to set a trailer. Brand events near Moscone Center and ongoing affordable housing work in Mission Bay keep accessible units busy here.

Civic Center and Hayes Valley

The Pride festival at Civic Center Plaza brings over 300 exhibitors and 20 stages each June. Receptions after City Hall weddings often land at halls and restaurants in nearby Hayes Valley.

Chinatown and North Beach

Narrow streets and a large older population make placement here a careful job. Family banquets after the Lunar New Year Parade fill halls and restaurants every year.

Golden Gate Park, Richmond and Sunset

Fog and wind off the ocean shape every setup west of Stanyan Street. Sunset Dunes, opened on the former Upper Great Highway in April 2025, is one of the rare long flat stretches in the west side.

Presidio and the Marina

The Presidio’s historic buildings and lawns host weddings for up to 300 guests. Marina Green holds the Fleet Week reviewing stand each October, on flat waterfront grass.

Bayview and Hunters Point

Hunters Point Shipyard redevelopment has new roads due in 2026 and about 7 acres of parks planned through 2030. Job sites here mix flat bayfront pads with hillside lots.

Short-notice orders in San Francisco are common for us, and dispatch is open around the clock.

Bay Area towns near San Francisco for portable ADA restroom rentals

Daly City

Just south of the county line, the Cow Palace hosts shows, fairs and expos most months of the year. Family parties in Westlake backyards and church lots round out the work here.

South San Francisco

The Industrial City sign on Sign Hill looks over a long row of biotech campuses east of Highway 101. Campus events and lab remodels both call for an accessible room.

Oakland

Lake Merritt draws weekend picnics, races and festivals to its 3.4 mile shoreline path. Uptown and Jack London Square add street fairs and private parties.

Sausalito

The Sausalito Art Festival fills the waterfront over Labor Day weekend each year. Bayside weddings and houseboat community events keep the rest of the calendar full.

Berkeley

UC Berkeley commencements and campus events bring families of every age across the bay each spring. Hillside homes in the Berkeley hills make flat parking for a trailer worth planning.

Your questions about ADA restroom trailers, answered

When should I reserve an accessible restroom trailer for a San Francisco wedding or festival weekend?

Wedding Saturdays from spring through fall and the big festival weekends are the dates that go first. If your event closes a park road, Rec and Park needs at least four months to process that closure, so the restroom plan should start at the same time.

How does the water work at a park or lot in the Sunset with no spigot nearby?

Before we set up in San Francisco, we check how much water your guest count and event days will need. The ADA + 2 Restroom Trailer and the ADA + 2 Private Shower Trailer each hold 210 gallons of fresh water. Pick the ADA + 6 if you want 200 gallons of fresh water, or the Single-Station combo if a smaller 105 gallon tank is enough for your guest count. Waste goes to an onboard tank of 300 or 475 gallons, depending on the model. A nearby spigot lets us connect a hose instead of relying on the tank alone. On longer events we come back to refill the fresh water and pump out the waste tank, timed to how many days and how many guests you expect.

Do I need more than one accessible unit for a big crowd in Golden Gate Park?

Often, yes. Because every one of our ADA trailers holds a single accessible room, a San Francisco event that needs two or three of them simply gets more than one unit set side by side. Rec and Park’s ADA checklist asks for at least one accessible toilet in every bank of toilets. Accessible units may be grouped together if they sit a reasonable distance from the other toilets and carry clear signs.

Will an ADA trailer pair with a larger luxury restroom trailer we already booked?

Yes, and it is one of the most common setups we plan. The ADA unit sits beside the larger trailer on the same firm path, so wheelchair users and other guests share one restroom area. One service schedule covers both units. One trailer can serve a crowd of up to about 300, and we will tell you honestly if a second unit would work better for your site.

Can I rent an ADA shower trailer for a multi-day event, or only restroom units?

You can. The ADA + 2 Private Shower Trailer has 2 standard private shower rooms and 1 ADA shower room, sized for about 50 users. When someone on a San Francisco crew or team needs to rinse off, the Single-Station ADA Shower and Restroom Combo gives them a seated roll-in shower with a hand wand and a toilet in the same room. Shower units fit staff camps, shelters, film sets and sports teams, while parties and weddings get restroom units.

Is a sloped street or a soft park lawn okay for the ramp?

Usually not. Some San Francisco streets climb past a 37% grade, with Bradford Street above Tompkins ranked at 41%, so a trailer can rarely sit on the street itself. A paved lot, a school yard or a wide driveway works far better. Park lawns can work if the ground is firm, and we check that from your photos before delivery.

Where does the price of an accessible trailer rental come from?

Three things shape a quote: how many units you need, how many days they stay and how far we travel to your address. Once you send us those details for your address, we will put together a clear quote. A weekday date usually sees less demand than a wedding Saturday in September.

What happens on delivery day, and when do you pick up?

Many customers ask for delivery the day before the event and pickup the day after, and that is easy to plan. When the trailer arrives, our team levels it, sets the ramp and checks that water and power are working. Toilet paper, paper towels and hand soap are already in every room. After the event, we pump out the tanks and haul the unit away.

Can a trailer sit in a church or senior center parking lot in the Excelsior or the Richmond?

Yes, with the property owner’s permission. Most of these lots tilt slightly for rainwater, so we look for the most level corner close to the building entrance. The truck also needs room to back in, so a photo of the lot entrance and any gate helps.

Is a standard household outlet enough to power an ADA trailer?

Usually not. Two 120 V 20 A circuits feed each ADA unit, and they should be on separate breakers. A photo of your electrical panel and the nearest outlets tells us quickly what the site can supply.

Who handles the permit for an event in a San Francisco park?

The event organizer applies for the permit with Rec and Park or the City department that controls the site. Our part is the paperwork the permit office asks about: unit sizes, the ADA room count, tank capacities and power needs. Tell us your permit contact, and we will send those facts in one sheet.

Planning guides for accessible restroom trailer rentals in San Francisco

These guides help hosts and planners with sizing, timing and the questions to settle before booking.

Before the truck arrives: a site walk for an accessible trailer on a San Francisco hill, lot or lawn

A short walk around your site with a phone camera answers most of what our planners need to know. Here is the checklist we use, in the order the truck and your guests will meet each spot.

Start at the street. Our truck needs a clear route to the spot, so look at the street width, parked cars and anything overhead. In San Francisco that means Muni trolley wires, low tree limbs and the edges of garage roofs. Measure any gate on the way in, and photograph the wires or branches overhead so we can judge the clearance.

Next, measure the pad. Parking lots tilt slightly so rain runs off, which is normal. A level app on your phone gives a quick read of the corner you have in mind, so send us the number along with a photo.

Then check the surface between the seats and the trailer. Gravel, bark and grass that turns soft after a foggy morning are hard on a wheelchair and on a walker, so note any stretch that is not pavement or packed earth.

Look closely at curbs. If the path crosses a curb, note where the nearest curb cut is. A trailer set ten feet from the party but across a curb with no cut is farther away for a wheelchair user than one set fifty feet down a smooth sidewalk.

Now think about the door side. Picture the ramp folded out and a person in a wheelchair at the bottom of it, with a helper beside them. That landing area needs to stay clear of tables, coolers, tent stakes and extension cords for the whole event. If guests will use the trailer after dark, plan a light near the ramp as well.

Check power and water next. Photograph your electrical panel and the outlets nearest the spot. If you want to use a water hookup, photograph the spigot and note how far it sits from the pad. If there is no spigot, the onboard tanks handle the job.

Think about timing too. Tell us if the street has tow-away hours, a street cleaning day or a Muni stop near the spot, since each one changes when the truck can park and unload.

Last, cover people and permission. Tell the neighbors if the trailer will sit near a property line. Get the owner’s OK for a church, school or senior center lot. A spot in a city park or on a street needs the right permit, and the permit office may want to see your placement plan.

Send these photos with your quote request: the street, the gate, the pad, the path, the curb, the door side, the panel and the spigot. With those eight pictures, our team can plan your setup before anyone drives across town.

How many accessible toilets a San Francisco park event needs, with worked examples

Counting accessible toilets is one of the first questions a park permit raises, and it is easy to get wrong. San Francisco Recreation and Park sets general ratios in its special event provisions, and the permit office confirms the final count for each event. This guide walks through the math so you arrive at the permit review with a solid plan.

The provisions page lists two general ratios: one ADA toilet for every 10 toilets, and one ADA toilet for every 100 to 200 people. You can read the wording yourself on the Rec and Park page for other required provisions. The page does not say how the two ratios combine, so treat both as starting points and let the permit office decide.

Plan around your peak crowd, meaning the most people on site at once, not the ticket total. A day-long fair may sell 3,000 tickets but see 1,200 people on site at its busiest hour. Restrooms serve the busiest hour, so plan around that number, and tell the permit office how you estimated it.

Example one is a park reception for 150 guests. With 150 guests at a park reception, one accessible room is probably enough, because the usual guide is one for every 100 to 200 people. That keeps the whole reception on one unit, with one short path from the lawn to the ramp. One unit covers the whole party.

Example two is a community celebration for 280 people. With 280 people on the lawn, one trailer with seven rooms keeps the main lines short, and one of those rooms is the accessible one. The people ratio points to one or two ADA rooms. If the permit office asks for two, add an ADA + 2 Restroom Trailer on the far side of the lawn to spread the lines out.

Example three is a fair with a peak crowd of 1,200. The people ratio gives a range of 6 to 12 accessible toilets. Suppose your plan has 40 toilets in total; the toilet ratio gives 4. The two numbers disagree, which is exactly why you bring both to the review.

For a fair like that, several trailers spread across the site often beat one large bank. Six ADA + 2 Restroom Trailers placed near the stages, the food area and the main entrance give six ADA rooms and 12 standard rooms, and nobody walks the whole park to find an accessible door.

Placement counts as much as the number. An ADA room at the end of a long gravel path does not serve anyone well. Each accessible unit needs a firm, level spot with a clear path from the crowd. Mark the trailer spot on your site map before the permit review.

Bring three things to the permit office: your peak crowd estimate, a site map with every trailer marked and our unit sheet with room counts and tank sizes. Call us with the crowd number first, and we will help you build the count.

San Francisco Recreation and Park: other required provisions for special events

A San Francisco event calendar for planning accessible restrooms

San Francisco has an event almost every weekend, and some weekends shape the whole city. Knowing the big dates helps you plan an accessible restroom for your own event, whether it is a wedding, a family party or a fair. It also helps you avoid delivery days when streets are closed.

The year starts in earnest with the Lunar New Year Parade. In 2026 it ran on Saturday, March 7, from Second and Market around Union Square to Kearny and Columbus. Streets in the Financial District closed from mid-afternoon until about 9:30 p.m. Banquets and family gatherings across Chinatown and the Richmond follow the parade, and many include older relatives.

Spring brings wedding season and outdoor parties. Gardens and park lawns open up for receptions, and weekend dates at popular venues go first. Big spring races and street fairs close streets and reroute Muni, sometimes starting the evening before, so a delivery near a course may need a different route.

June belongs to Pride. The 56th parade ran on Sunday, June 28, 2026, and the weekend draws one of the largest crowds of the year to Market Street and Civic Center. Private parties and brand events all around downtown add to the demand for temporary restrooms that weekend.

Summer is concert season. Outside Lands took over Golden Gate Park August 7 to 9 in 2026, and side events, after-parties and vendor staging near the park all need restrooms while nearby park roads close.

Fall stays busy. Dreamforce filled the Moscone Center in mid-September 2026, and sponsor events spill onto plazas and lots across SoMa. Fleet Week arrives in early October with the Parade of Ships and the air show over the bay, and the Marina is crowded for days.

The holidays bring office parties, church events and family gatherings that run into December. Indoor venues fill up, and more hosts move parties into a backyard or a hall lot, where an accessible trailer becomes part of the plan.

Use the calendar in three ways. First, pick a date that does not fight a major closure near your site. Second, if your event needs a park permit, start that process first, since it often sets the timeline for everything else. Third, lock your restroom unit the same week you lock your venue, so the rest of your planning can move forward.

Restroom trailer or portable toilet for guests who use a wheelchair or walker

Many hosts start by pricing a standard portable toilet, and for some events that is a fine choice. For a reception, a family party or a full-day event with older guests, a restroom trailer with an ADA room gives people a very different experience. Here are the plain differences, so you can decide what fits your guests.

Start with the toilet itself. An ADA trailer room has a real flushing china toilet, set at a height built for a safe transfer from a wheelchair. Grab bars sit where a guest needs them. A plastic unit has a holding tank under a seat, with no flush, which many older guests find hard to use.

Next, look at the sink. Each trailer room has a sink with running water and soap. Guests wash their hands in the same room, with no trip to a separate station across the lawn. For anyone who moves slowly, that one detail saves a long, tiring walk.

Space matters for a wheelchair and for a helper. The ADA room gives a guest room to turn, and a family member can step in to help with the door closed. That privacy means a lot to an older parent who does not want to make a scene at a wedding.

Getting in is the other half. A guest rolls or walks up a gentle ramp to the door instead of climbing a step.

Lighting and finish also count. Trailer rooms have built-in lights, which helps on a dark fog-wrapped evening in the Sunset or the Richmond. The gel-coated fiberglass walls and floors wipe clean, and our service visits keep paper, soap and the tanks in order through the event.

Standard portable toilets still have a place at some gatherings. A short gathering of an hour or two, on firm ground, with young and able guests, may not need more. When grandparents, guests with walkers or anyone in a wheelchair will attend, the trailer makes the day easier for everyone. For the federal rules behind accessible design, the U.S. Department of Justice keeps its guidance at ADA.gov.

If you are weighing the two, tell us your guest count, the ages in the crowd and the site. We will tell you honestly which unit makes sense. Our accessible restroom rentals across California are all on one page, so you can look at each model next to the others.
