The Lavatory is the name behind luxury portable restroom rentals in Chico
Get another quote first if you like. Then send it to us, and we will go through it with you line by line at no charge. We see the same games on paper every season in Butte County. Some quotes call a plastic box with a hand pump a luxury unit. Others leave delivery off the first page and add it back after you sign. Our quote names the exact trailer and the service plan in plain words. The unit on the paper is the one that pulls up, because we own every trailer in our fleet. Brands like Google, Tesla and BMW have used our restrooms at their own events. Call us today or request a quote, and we will show you what a complete one looks like.
The trailer on the quote is the trailer you get
We are a direct fleet, not a reseller passing your order to a stranger. More than 250 luxury trailers sit in our own fleet, so the model and room count on your paperwork are exactly what arrive.
Photos before the truck rolls
We ask for pictures of the gate, the lane and the spot before we book. Orchard rows and old Avenues alleys hide surprises, and a few photos catch most of them.
Cool rooms in July, warm rooms in January
Every unit has AC and heat on a thermostat. We start it early so the rooms are comfortable when your first guest opens the door.
We plan around fire season and road closures
From July through October we watch Red Flag warnings and PG&E shutoff notices across the ridge. When Highway 32 or the Skyway closes, we take Highway 99 instead and confirm your delivery window again the day before.

“Our north Chico fundraiser had a luxury restroom trailer this time, and guests kept saying how fresh it stayed. Big thanks to the whole team for looking after us.”

“On a Saturday night wedding near Chico, a broken water valve shut down every toilet on the property. My sister-in-law phoned The Lavatory, and less than an hour later a trailer was rolling in. Quick, kind people, and the unit was spotless. They understand what an emergency means, and our family will not forget it.”

“Excellent restroom trailer and excellent people. Sal made our Chico delivery easy, and he was great to work with from the first minute. Highly recommended.”
Proof from the homeowners who have booked our temporary restroom trailers
The companies that could rent anything still call us for restrooms, because a cheap plastic unit at a launch party or a shareholder event ruins everything the day is meant to say. The Lavatory has provided luxury restrooms for names like Google, Tesla, BMW, Mercedes, eBay, and Target, for hospitality at Caesars Palace, and for pro sports including the Golden State Warriors, Oakland A’s, and Las Vegas Raiders.

The reason those bookings repeat is simple. A luxury restroom is the one vendor a guest uses and remembers, for better or worse, so the trailer has to be stocked, clean and working from the first guest to the last. That is how we run every unit in the fleet, and it is the same standard behind every Chico booking, from a backyard engagement party to a festival gate.
Three decades in event and equipment rental, running the largest luxury restroom trailer fleet in the Western U.S. Every unit ours, never a broker’s.
Portable restroom trailer rentals for Chico home remodels and restaurant projects
For a Chico orchard or ranch wedding of 150 to 300 guests, the 5-Station is the unit we place most often. A Bidwell Park race or a big fairgrounds weekend moves up to the 9-Station or two units set apart, while a one-bath remodel in the Avenues usually needs only a 2-Station in the driveway.

A bathroom remodel looks simple on paper until the old toilet comes out. Many homes in the Avenues and Chapmantown were built with one bathroom, so the day demolition starts is the day the family loses its only toilet and shower sink. Remodels in older homes also tend to run long. Crews open a wall and find old pipe or a damaged floor, and a three week job turns into six.
A 2-Station in the driveway solves that. It gives the household a clean women’s room and men’s room with running water, a mirror and real lighting, a few steps from the back door. The trailer uses its own fresh and waste tanks, so it never ties into the plumbing your contractor has torn apart. We plug it into one outdoor outlet, set it level and come back on a regular day to pump the tank and restock supplies.
Restaurants face the same problem with more at stake. Downtown Chico is full of older buildings along Broadway, Main, 2nd and 3rd streets, and a restroom remodel there can close a dining room for weeks. Health rules expect working restrooms for staff and customers, so many owners either shut down or rent. A 3-Station or a 5-Station parked in a back lot or an alley keeps the doors open. We have learned to measure the alley before booking, because some of the oldest blocks downtown leave only a few feet of turning room.
Backyard ADU builds are the third kind of remodel call. The city offers free permit-ready ADU plans, and those projects put a small crew on a residential lot for months. A trailer gives the crew a decent place to go without walking through the owner’s kitchen. If you are planning work in the Sacramento area too, our Sacramento luxury bathroom trailer rentals team sets up long remodel rentals the same way.
The fittings inside a restroom trailer
Flushing china toilets
Real porcelain toilets with a foot flush, the same fixtures your guests use at home, not a chemical tank.
Running-water sinks
Stainless steel sinks with real running water, hand soap, and towels, fed by onboard water tanks so you are covered even without a hookup.
Climate control
Air conditioning for a summer afternoon and heat for a cold evening, so the trailer stays comfortable no matter the season.
Framed mirrors and lighting
Oversized framed vanity mirrors, warm interior lighting, and finished flooring that reads like a venue restroom, not a jobsite.
Fully stocked, always fresh
Premium toilet paper, towels, soap, and fragrance, restocked and pumped so the unit stays fresh from the first guest to the last.
Power and water handled
Onboard water tanks plus a generator when your site has no hookup, so the trailer runs anywhere from a vineyard to an open field.
Full specifications for every unit are on the 5-Station spec page and its four sister pages, or call and we will spec it to your Chico guest count.

Sizing temporary restroom trailers to a Chico guest count
Five sizes cover everything from a single ADA-compliant suite to a festival crowd. Every one has flushing china toilets, running water and climate control. Tell us your guest count and how long the event runs, and we will size it.

2-Station Restroom Trailer
One women’s suite and one men’s suite for up to about 150 guests, in a compact box that fits into a driveway or garden path. 105 gallons of fresh water, a 300-gallon waste tank and a single 20A/120V circuit make it the pick for backyard weddings and engagement parties.

3-Station Restroom Trailer
Two women’s suites and one men’s suite for up to about 225 guests, sized for the everyday mid-size gathering, from a milestone birthday to a company off-site. 200 gallons of fresh water, a 400-gallon waste tank, one 20A/120V circuit.

5-Station Restroom Trailer
Women’s side with 3 stalls and 2 sinks, men’s side with 1 stall, 1 urinal and 1 sink, built for 150 to 450 guests so a full reception never waits. 200 gallons of fresh water, a 520-gallon waste tank, one 20A/120V circuit within 100 feet.

9-Station Restroom Trailer
Women’s side with 5 stalls and 2 sinks, men’s side with 2 stalls, 2 urinals and 1 sink, sized for 400 to 900 guests so hundreds of people can move through the line at once. Two AC units, two 20A/120V circuits, a 750-gallon waste tank.

ADA + 2 Restroom Trailer
One women’s suite, one men’s suite and one ADA unisex suite with a self-contained ramp, built to federal and California ADA requirements. Sized for events up to about 200 guests or job sites up to about 30 crew, with 210 gallons of fresh water on board.
An 8-Station Private Stall Deluxe and an ADA + 6 configuration are also in the fleet for big productions and larger guest counts. If you are between sizes, we spec it to your guest count rather than nudge you into more trailer than the day calls for.
For events beyond this city, our California restroom trailer service area lists every region we deliver to.
What a bathroom trailer saves a Chico event

Think about what a Chico event actually costs to put on. The venue, the catering, the flowers, the photographer, the hours of planning. Then picture a guest walking out of a hot plastic box in the middle of all of it. Nobody plans for that. The restroom is the one vendor every single guest uses, often more than once, and it is the detail they quietly judge the whole event by.
A luxury restroom trailer protects everything else you spent on. It reads like an extension of the venue, holds up through a full day of guests, and gives people one less thing to remember for the wrong reason. Set against the total cost of the day, it is a small line item that quietly carries a lot of the impression, which is exactly why the hosts who have been burned once book the trailer first the next time.
Accessibility and venue rules for portable restroom trailers around Chico
Large community events in city parks, including Bidwell Park, need a City of Chico permit, and the city asks for the application at least 60 days ahead. Under the park event rules, a large public event must add portable restrooms, with one accessible unit for each additional 400 participants. City Plaza events handle restrooms through a separate fee once a reservation tops 200 people. Parks run by the Chico Area Recreation and Park District go through that district’s own rental packet.
Private events on private land are simpler. A wedding on a private ranch or in a backyard usually needs no city permit for the trailer itself, though the venue’s rules and any HOA rules still apply. Events that sell or serve food to the public go through Butte County Environmental Health in Oroville, which reviews handwashing, water and wastewater plans for food booths. We pump and haul all waste through permitted channels, so you never have to line that up.
For anything open to the public, plan at least one accessible unit. Federal ADA rules set the floor, and California Title 24 adds its own clearance and fixture details. Our ADA + 2 trailer is built to the California standard. On construction sites, Cal/OSHA ties the number of toilets to the size of the crew on each shift, and we size long jobs to that count. If you are not sure which rule touches your event, call us and we will walk through it.

The ADA and pad prep details we take care of
- ADA-accessible units with a self-contained ramp, wide door, grab bars, and turning room.
- Guidance on where to place the trailer so it is easy to reach and easy to service.
- Water and power sorted before delivery, with a generator staged when the site has no hookup.
- Licensed and insured on every unit we put on the road.
One thing we always say plainly: some venues and city permits have their own rules on placement, accessibility, and event restrooms. Tell us your venue and we will help you plan around them, but confirm any permit requirements with the venue or the city as well.
Other jobs for our upscale bathroom trailers around Chico
Three kinds of calls fill most of our Chico calendar. Each one calls for its own trailer size and service plan, and after years of placing units around Butte County we plan each one its own way.

Silver Dollar Fair and speedway nights
The Silver Dollar Fair fills the fairgrounds over Memorial Day weekend, and speedway nights draw up to 7,000 fans. Sponsor tents and VIP rows far from the fixed restrooms are the right spot for a deluxe unit.

Chico State graduation weekend
May commencement packs restaurants and hotels, so many families throw the party at home. A 2-Station keeps 60 to 100 relatives out of the hallway bathroom all afternoon.

Bidwell Park races and reunions
The Bidwell Classic and the Almond Bowl start in Lower Bidwell Park, where the fixed restrooms sit far apart across more than 3,600 acres. A trailer near the start line cuts the morning lines.

Highway 99 corridor company events
Company picnics, client days and plant events along the Highway 99 corridor need restrooms that look like the rest of the event. We match the unit to the guest list and place it near the tent.

Thursday Night Market vendor rows
More than 200 vendors set up downtown on summer Thursdays. Vendors and staff who cannot leave a booth for long get a close, clean option on a private lot nearby.

Film shoots in Upper Bidwell Park
Productions still shoot westerns in the canyons above town. A unit at base camp gives cast and crew a real restroom miles from the nearest building.
What ties these together is the guest experience. Nobody remembers a restroom that worked, but everybody remembers one that did not. Because our units sit staged across the region instead of a couple counties away, getting a luxury trailer to a Chico date, even a last-minute one, is an ordinary ask here, not a scramble.
Four steps to a deluxe restroom trailer on a Chico event
Booking should be the easy part of planning an event. Four steps, a straight answer, and one team that owns the whole thing.
Tell us about the event
Share your date, your rough guest count, and the venue. That is enough for us to point you to the right size trailer.
We match the trailer and site
We pair you with a unit, confirm whether the site has water and power or needs a generator, and pin the exact spot so delivery is one clean trip.
Delivery and setup
We arrive on your schedule, level and set the trailer, connect it, and stock it so it is ready and fresh before the first guest.
Enjoy it, we handle pickup
The trailer holds up through your whole event while our line stays open. When you are done, we come back and take it away.

Upscale restroom rentals for orchard, vineyard and ranch weddings around Chico

Weddings are the biggest part of our work around Chico, and most of them happen outdoors. The Barn at Pheasant Trail Ranch sits in the walnut orchards on the edge of North Chico with room for more than 250 guests. Patrick Ranch spreads across the lawns on the Midway between Chico and Durham. Gale Vineyards and Bella Rosa Farm in Durham, White Ranch with its big willow, TJ Farms Estates west of downtown and Centerville Estate on Honey Run Road all host receptions that live outside from the ceremony to the last dance.
Those settings are beautiful. They are also short on bathrooms. A farmhouse with two indoor restrooms was never built for 200 guests, an open bar and five hours of dancing. Lines form, the septic system takes a beating and guests end up waiting in the dark. A 5-Station placed at the edge of the lawn takes that load off the house and gives guests three women’s stalls with two sinks and a full men’s side.
Heat is the other big factor. Chico’s July afternoons average about 95 degrees, and plenty of wedding weekends top 100. We start the AC well before guests arrive so the rooms are cool when the ceremony ends. In the cool months we flip the same units to heat for fall and spring dates, when evenings by the creek in Butte Creek Canyon can drop fast after sunset.
Placement takes some planning on farm venues. Orchard lanes are often gravel or packed dirt, and some barns sit at the end of long rows with tight turns. We ask for photos of the route and the spot before we book the truck. A level pad, a clear path from the reception and a power source within about 100 feet are all we need. For couples marrying at a backyard in California Park or Canyon Oaks, a 2-Station or 3-Station often fits a side yard with room to spare.
Mobile restroom trailers for evacuation shelters and disaster relief in Butte County

Chico is where Butte County goes when the hills burn. During the 2018 Camp Fire, Neighborhood Church on Notre Dame Boulevard planned to shelter about 200 people and saw about 370 arrive. Evacuees filled the Chico Elks Lodge on Manzanita Avenue and camped for weeks in a parking lot on the south side of town. The building restrooms at every one of those sites were made for a Sunday crowd, not hundreds of people around the clock.
The pattern came back in July 2024. The Park Fire started near Alligator Hole in Upper Bidwell Park, about four miles from downtown, and grew to more than 392,000 acres across four counties. Orders covered Cohasset Ridge, Keefer Ridge, Butte Meadows and Jonesville, with Forest Ranch under warning, and about 4,200 Butte County residents were told to leave. Shelters opened again at Neighborhood Church in Chico and at the Butte County Fairgrounds in Gridley.
A shelter needs restrooms that work day and night for weeks, and it needs at least one room a person with a walker or a wheelchair can use. Our ADA + 2 trailer brings a ramp and a roomy accessible room with it. For a fire camp or a large staging area, the 9-Station handles long lines of crews at shift change. Every unit carries its own tanks, and we bring generators when PG&E has the power off, which happens often on the ridge during wildfire weather.
We take these calls on a 24/7 line and plan routes around road closures. During the Park Fire, Highway 32 closed from Bruce Road to Highway 36, so we stage from the south side of town and come in by Highway 99 when the foothill roads are shut. County offices, Cal Fire incident teams, the Red Cross, churches and school districts can call us directly. We are SAM.gov registered and set up nightly pumping and restocking for as long as the shelter stays open.
The service behind every one of our portable restroom trailers in Chico

We handle the whole thing, not just the drop-off. Our team delivers the trailer, levels and sets it, connects water and power or stages a generator, and stocks it before your first guest arrives. When the event wraps, we come back and haul it away. You never touch the logistics. That part is on us.
For longer or higher-traffic bookings in Chico, we offer an on-site attendant who keeps the trailer stocked and spotless through the event, and we pump and refresh the unit so it holds up from the first guest to the last. That always-fresh standard is the difference between a restroom guests use once and one they are glad to use all night.
Chico neighborhoods where we deliver deluxe restroom trailers

We deliver across all of Chico, from downtown and the Avenues to North Chico, California Park, Meriam Park and the airport area. Our trucks make regular runs to Oroville, Paradise, Magalia, Durham, Orland, Gridley and Red Bluff, and up the Skyway and Cohasset Road into the foothills. For events anywhere else in the state, we handle restroom trailer rentals throughout California from the same team, and we serve customers in all 50 states. Send us an address and a date, and we will confirm the delivery window.
We cover Chico luxury restroom trailer rentals across California. Neighborhoods and towns we serve include Downtown Chico, The Avenues, Chapmantown, South Campus, North Chico, California Park, Canyon Oaks, Meriam Park, Bidwell Park, The Esplanade, Chico Airport area, Durham, Oroville, Paradise, Magalia, Cohasset, Forest Ranch, Orland, Gridley, Biggs, Hamilton City, Red Bluff, Corning, Willows.
Events outside town are covered too; the California restroom trailer coverage map shows every corridor.
Downtown and the Avenues
Big trees, narrow alleys and older homes with one bathroom define this part of town. We measure the driveway or the alley first and often place a 2-Station close to the back door.
Chapmantown and South Campus
Small lots and older houses bring us remodel rentals and family parties. Curb space is tight near campus, so we plan delivery for early morning before the street fills.
California Park and Canyon Oaks
Foothill homes with big yards host weddings, graduation parties and milestone birthdays. Sloped lots need a level spot, which we pick from your photos before the truck arrives.
North Chico and the Esplanade
Orchard venues, larger lots and newer homes north of Lassen Avenue keep us busy every wedding season. Gravel lanes are common, and our drivers handle them every week.
Meriam Park and the east side
New streets off Bruce Road bring a steady run of housewarming parties and crew restrooms on lots still under construction. Weekly service keeps a long rental clean.
The airport area and Cohasset Road
Shops and warehouses near Chico Municipal Airport call us for long crew rentals and plant events. Cohasset Road also leads to the foothill homes that evacuated in 2024.
Most Chico rentals can be delivered the same day, and our dispatch line answers 24/7 for last-minute and emergency dates. See also: restroom trailer rentals in Elk Grove.

What corporate planners ask about luxury restroom trailers in Chico

Where does the attendant stay during my Chico wedding, and who restocks the trailer?
For bigger receptions we can staff an attendant who stays near the trailer and checks the rooms about every half hour. The attendant wipes counters, refills paper and soap and keeps the floors dry. For a smaller party, we deliver the trailer fully stocked with enough supplies for the night and show the host where the extras are kept. Multi-day events get a cleaning and restock visit each evening.
What makes a luxury restroom trailer different from a porta potty at an outdoor event?
A porta potty is a plastic booth over a tank with a hand pump at best. Our trailers have flushing china toilets, sinks with running water, mirrors, lighting and air conditioning and heat, with separate women’s and men’s rooms that lock. Guests walk up a short set of steps into a room that feels like a nice indoor restroom. At a ranch or orchard venue, that difference is what guests talk about afterward.
When Chico hits 100 degrees in July, will the bathroom trailer stay cool inside?
Yes. Every unit has its own AC, and the 9-Station carries two units. We start the cooling about three hours before guests arrive and park in shade when the site allows it. In winter the same units switch to heat, which keeps rooms comfortable on frosty December mornings and rainy spring evenings.
How early do you deliver for a Saturday event, and when do you pick up?
Most Saturday deliveries happen Friday afternoon or Saturday morning, depending on the venue’s load-in rules. Setup takes about an hour once the truck is on site: we level the trailer, connect power, check the water and stock the rooms. Pickup follows your schedule, including Monday for venues that ask us to wait. Tell us the venue’s rules and we will build the times around them.
Do you rent private restroom trailers for long remodels and construction jobs in Chico?
We do, and long rentals are a big part of our work here. Homeowners keep a 2-Station through a bathroom remodel, restaurants keep a larger unit during a remodel, and crews keep one on a jobsite for months. We set a weekly or twice-weekly service day for pumping and restocking. You can extend the rental with a phone call if the project runs long.
Will a portable restroom work off one outdoor outlet, or do I need a generator?
Most of our units draw from one standard 20 amp, 120 volt circuit within about 100 feet, which a garage or barn outlet usually covers. The 9-Station and the ADA + 2 need two circuits. If the venue has no power near the spot, or PG&E has a shutoff in place, we bring a quiet generator and set it away from guests.
Can you place two or three trailers for a big crowd at the fairgrounds or in Bidwell Park?
Yes. For crowds above about 900, or for a long event spread across a large site, we place more than one unit so no one walks too far. A common layout is a 9-Station near the main crowd and a 5-Station or an ADA trailer at the far end. We plan the spacing from a site map and deliver everything on one schedule.
Is one waste tank enough for a two-day festival, or will it need pumping?
It depends on the crowd and the hours. A 5-Station holds 520 gallons of waste and the 9-Station holds 750, which covers a long single event for the guest counts they are rated for. For a two-day festival or a weekend tournament, we pump and restock overnight so the trailer is fresh the next morning. We set that schedule when you book.
How do the gravel lanes at orchard and farm venues around Chico affect delivery?
Gravel and packed dirt are fine. Our drivers work orchard lanes and ranch roads every week. What matters is width, tight turns, low branches and soft ground after rain. Send us photos of the route and the spot, and we will tell you up front if anything needs to change.
How fast can you get a trailer to a shelter or evacuation center in Butte County?
Our emergency line is open 24/7. We confirm the unit, the spot and the power plan on the first call and get a truck moving the same day whenever we can. During fire weather we plan routes around closures on Highway 32, the Skyway and Cohasset Road. Shelters usually start with an ADA + 2 and add a larger unit as the count grows.
How far ahead should I book a luxury bathroom trailer for a Chico wedding or graduation party?
Book three to six months ahead for May through October. Chico State graduation weekend, Pioneer Days and the fall wedding season fill our calendar early. Short-notice dates are still worth a call, because we can often move a unit from another job. A quote holds your date while you finish planning.

How many restroom stations a Chico orchard or ranch wedding really needs
The question we hear most from couples is simple: how many stations do we need? The honest answer depends on more than the guest count. We look at five things before we pick a unit, and each one can push the answer up or down.
Start with the guest count, then look at the hours. A three hour garden party with 80 people puts far less load on a trailer than a six hour reception with the same crowd. Longer events mean more trips per guest, and the waste tank fills faster than most hosts expect when the dancing runs late.
Getting a trailer into a Chico farm or estate venue without surprises
Most of the problems we see at farm weddings happen before the first guest arrives. A truck meets a low walnut branch on the way in. Sometimes the only outlet sits 300 feet from the spot the couple picked. All of these are easy to fix with a little planning a few weeks out.
Begin with the route. Walk from the road to the spot and take photos of every gate, turn and branch along the way. Our trucks and trailers need a clear lane about 10 feet wide and about 13 feet of height. Orchard rows are often wide enough, though the turn at the end of a row can be tight. Photos let us plan the angle or pick a better spot.
Planning restrooms for a large event in Bidwell Park or another Chico park
Bidwell Park is one of the largest city parks in the country, with more than 3,600 acres running from downtown into the canyon. It hosts races like the Bidwell Classic and the Almond Bowl, reunions, church picnics and film shoots. Its fixed restrooms sit far apart, and most of them were built for a normal weekend, not a crowd of several hundred in one spot.
Start early. The City of Chico asks for large park event applications at least 60 days before the date, and the Parks Division, the Recreation Division and other departments all review them. Applications that come in late can be turned down. Booking the temporary restroom unit early lets you list it on the application, which helps the review go faster.
Living through a bathroom remodel in an older Chico home
Remodeling the only bathroom in the house is harder than most people expect. Many homes in the Avenues, Chapmantown and the older blocks near campus were built with one bathroom. Once the toilet comes out, the family needs a plan for every morning and every night until the job is done.
Ask your contractor for an honest timeline, then add a cushion. Older homes hide surprises behind the walls. Crews open a floor and find damaged framing, old galvanized pipe or wiring that has to be brought up to code. Each surprise adds days, and the city’s Building Division may need to inspect the new work before walls close.
Fire season backup plans for Chico weddings and outdoor events
Summer and fall are the busiest wedding months around Chico. They are also fire season. Hosts who plan an outdoor event between July and October should build a simple backup plan for smoke, heat and power shutoffs, the same way they plan for rain in spring.
Start with power. PG&E can turn off lines during high wind and dry weather, and foothill areas east of town see these shutoffs often. If your venue sits on the ridge, up Cohasset Road or in Butte Creek Canyon, ask the venue whether it has backup power. If it does not, tell us. We can bring a generator for the deluxe restroom so the AC, the lights and the water pump keep working.
