Sleeper bunkhouse trailer rentals for Utah job sites, camps and events, any job, any size

Utah is spread out in an odd way. One dense strip of cities runs along the Wasatch Front, and the rest of the work sits in far corners: oil fields in the Uintah Basin, wind and solar ground in the middle of the state, race grounds on the western salt flats and trail events in canyon country. In all of them the nearest bed can be an hour or more from the work. A sleeper bunkhouse trailer puts the bed on the site.
The Lavatory plans each order around the place. Dispatch looks at the road in, the ground, the altitude and the length of the stay, then matches a trailer to the job. Because the fleet is ours, a unit finishing on the Wasatch Front can be routed to the next site in the southwest without a middleman.
Customers tell us a bunkhouse trailer is easier to plan than a block of hotel rooms in a town that fills up. Nobody chases a shuttle, nobody is split across three motels, and the day starts at the work.
Utah weather asks for some thought too. Mountain sites see snow and steep grades, the far southwest runs hot, and the western desert brings dust and wind. Our team asks about all of it before anything is hitched, so the trailer is placed where it makes sense.
Longer jobs get even more from this setup. A state audit estimated that Utah needs about 28,000 new homes a year, and a tight housing market makes temporary worker housing more useful to builders and infrastructure teams. A bunkhouse trailer gives a core crew a bed without waiting on local rooms.
Sleep next to the job
A bunkhouse trailer parks on or beside the site, so a long shift ends a few steps from a bed. That matters on remote road, pipeline, wind and solar work, where the closest room can be a long drive away.
Tough on dirt lots and long stays
These are working trailers, durable enough for gravel pads, fairgrounds and fire camps and comfortable enough that people are glad to come back to them. Restroom and shower trailers pair with them when a site needs the full set.
One phone number from quote to pickup
You deal with The Lavatory from the first call through setup, service and pickup. We ask about the road, the ground and the power up front, so the trailer shows up ready to use.
Working in the Salt Lake Valley? See our Salt Lake City sleeper bunkhouse trailer rentals page for local detail.
The full layout is on our Utah 12-Station bunkhouse sleeper trailer spec page, or call and we will plan beds, showers and laundry around your Utah crew.
Our repeat clients include some of the biggest names in business, because a rested crew is a safer crew. The Lavatory has provided trailers for names like Google, Tesla, BMW, Mercedes, eBay, and Target, for hospitality at Caesars Palace, and for pro sports including the Golden State Warriors, Oakland A’s, and Las Vegas Raiders.

“We needed beds close to a big event and the trailer was a really good idea. It solved a problem hotels could not, and the whole team stayed together.”

“So glad to have found this company. The trailer was clean, comfortable and set up right where we needed it. They are super easy to work with and definitely deserve five stars.”
Where Utah teams use bunkhouse trailers, region by region
We serve the whole state. These are the regions where bunkhouse trailers get the most use, each with its own roads, weather and kind of work. Give us the address and the dates, and we will match the trailer to the site.

The Wasatch Front: Salt Lake, Davis, Utah and Weber counties
This is the population and event core of the state. Sandy hosts big indoor shows at the Mountain America Expo Center, and Draper is home to the state wildland fire operations center. Refineries in North Salt Lake and Woods Cross bring contractor teams for scheduled shutdowns, and Hill Air Force Base near Ogden hosts an air show that is listed for June 2027. We have service pages for Salt Lake City, West Valley City and West Jordan, and we also work in Magna, Kearns, Sandy, Draper, Ogden and the towns between. Listings for 2027 include the Utah International Auto Expo from January 15 to 18 and the Salt Lake Home and Garden Show from March 12 to 14, both in Sandy, plus a sportsmen's exposition from March 18 to 21. The Hill Air Force Base show, listed as Warriors over the Wasatch, is on the calendar for June 19 and 20, 2027, though dates can change. Housing growth keeps builders busy along the whole corridor, so crews often need a bed close to a site that is still being built.
The Wasatch Back: Park City, Heber and Summit County
Resort, second home and road work keeps builders busy in the mountains east of Salt Lake. Summit County has debated limits on RVs on residential lots, so local rules are tight, and we ask about them on the first call. Dry summers bring fire restrictions that can affect how a site is set up.
Southwest Utah: St. George, Cedar City and Hurricane
St. George hosts a run of endurance and senior sports events, and Cedar City hosts the Utah Summer Games at Southern Utah University, with a tentative 2027 calendar of 48 events. Growth in Washington and Iron counties also keeps construction teams busy. Heat is the main planning factor here, so shade and placement matter in summer. The Summer Games list an opening ceremony on June 4, 2027. St. George also hosts a senior games each October and a point to point marathon that ends in town, so rooms there get scarce in spring and fall.
Canyon country: Moab, Monticello and Bluff
Trail events, guide teams and park traffic fill this corner of the state. Moab's spring off-road week has run for 60 years, and the five national parks drew roughly 11 million visits in 2025. Rooms in small gateway towns fill fast, which makes on-site beds a practical answer for event and wedding groups. Zion alone logged more than 4.9 million visits in 2025. Moab's off-road week ran from March 28 to April 5 in 2026, and we have not seen 2027 dates yet.
The Uintah Basin: Vernal, Roosevelt and Duchesne
Oil and gas work in the basin has long meant field teams living in man camps, RV parks and hotels, and local hotels are often booked by field workers. A bunkhouse trailer next to a pad or yard keeps a team together and cuts the commute down to a few steps. The state workforce office counts about 25,369 jobs in the basin in its 2026 report, and the work is spread over long distances between towns.
The West Desert: Tooele, Wendover and the Bonneville Salt Flats
Land speed racing brings teams, officials and vendors to the flats for weeks at a time, and the flats close to general access during permitted events. Tooele County has updated its rules for a removable temporary dwelling, so we point customers to the county office early. Wind and dust shape how a trailer is set here. The BLM listed three Bonneville events for 2026: a speed week from July 27 to August 8, a second event from August 30 to September 8 and a finals event from September 23 to 29. Teams that arrive early or stay late need beds that follow the permit schedule, not the hotel calendar.

Sanpete, Sevier and central Utah's wind and solar country
Small towns, ranches and energy construction sites sit far from a motel. Farm and ranch gatherings also happen here, usually on private land with no lodging at all. Send us the address and a photo of the spot, and we will check the route in.

The sleeper bunkhouse trailers we rent in Utah
Our bunkhouse trailers give a team a place to sleep on site. Every layout has its own spec page, so you can check the sleeping setup against your head count before you call. Our team helps you pick the right layout, and we pair bunkhouses with restroom and shower trailers when a site needs them.
Sleeper Bunkhouse Trailer
Our sleeper bunkhouse trailers put real beds on your job site, fire camp or event ground. Open the lineup to see each layout, its photos and its spec sheet, then call for a quote sized to your head count.
Unsure which layout to pick? Tell us how many people are staying, for how many nights, and what power and ground the site offers. We will give you a straight answer on size, even if that is fewer trailers than you had in mind.
How to size a bunkhouse setup for a Utah site

A quote for a Utah job begins with a few basics. We start with who is staying and for how long, then move to the ground and the power on the site.
Head count and shifts
Count everyone who needs a bed at the same time. Teams on split shifts can sometimes share, so tell us how the shifts run and we will size around that.
How long the stay runs
A weekend load in and a months long field job call for different plans. Longer stays get a service schedule for restocking and cleaning that moves with your head count.
Ground and the way in
The trailer needs firm, fairly level ground and a clear path for the tow vehicle. A photo of the spot and the gate or dirt road helps us check the route before anything leaves the yard.
Power and utilities
Power and wastewater plans depend on the unit, the site and local health rules. Mountain and desert sites often lack nearby hookups, so tell us what is there and we will plan a hookup or a quiet generator.
Restrooms and showers
A bed is only part of a camp. Most bunkhouse orders also add restroom or shower trailers nearby, and we schedule it all together.
Altitude, snow and heat
A trailer in St. George in July needs different placement than one in a Wasatch canyon in February. Tell us the nearest town and the month, and we will talk through shade, wind and where to set the door.
Camp layout
When an order includes several trailers, we think about walking paths, night lighting and where vehicles park, so people are not crossing a work zone in the dark.
Dates that might shift
Fire work, race weeks and shutdowns all move with weather and permits. Tell us how firm your dates are, and we will plan so a change of a few days does not mean starting over.
Job sites, fire camps, events and more: how Utah uses sleeper bunkhouse trailers
Utah bookings come from many kinds of work. These are the ones we plan for most, and each has its own timing.
Refinery shutdowns and energy field work
Scheduled shutdowns at Wasatch Front refineries bring contractor teams for weeks, and Uintah Basin crews work far from town. A bunkhouse on or near the yard saves the daily drive and gives people a place to rest between long shifts. Refineries in North Salt Lake and Woods Cross run scheduled turnarounds that bring contractor teams for weeks, usually in spring and fall.
Wildland fire support
The state wildland fire operations center in Draper is staffed April through November, and 2026 was described as one of the most severe fire seasons in recent history. Camp setup is directed by the incident team and the host agency, so call us and we will tell you what we can supply.
Construction and housing projects
A state audit put the need at about 28,000 new homes a year in Utah, and builders and infrastructure teams are working to keep up. A bunkhouse trailer near a subdivision, road or utility job gives a team a bed when local rooms are full.
Expos, festivals and large events
Build and strike teams for shows at the Sandy expo center work long days on either side of the doors opening. Listings for 2027 include an auto expo in January and a home and garden show in March. Beds on the grounds keep stage, booth and security teams close. Build and strike days are long, and a bed on the grounds keeps the last load out and the first load in close together.
Sports events and endurance races
Summer Games weekends in Cedar City and races in the St. George area bring officials, volunteers and vendors to towns with limited rooms. A bunkhouse trailer near the course keeps the support team together.
Extra beds when park and canyon town rooms fill
Guides, trail event staff and wedding groups near Moab, Zion and Bryce often find rooms full. A bunkhouse on private land near the town gives the group a place to sleep, subject to local rules.
Racing and desert events
Bonneville speed weeks run on permitted dates, and the flats close to general access during them. Teams staying near Wendover or on approved ground can use on-site beds, and we pair them with restroom trailers.
Family ranch events and private property gatherings
Reunions, ranch weddings and fall hunting camps happen where no lodging exists. A bunkhouse trailer on the property gives the group beds without a long drive back to town.
Olympic preparation work
Salt Lake City is planned to host the 2034 Winter Games, mostly on existing venues. Overlay, broadcast and security work is likely to grow as that date gets closer, and the years before it are an infrastructure build period.
Tell us about the job. Call (801) 788-4080 or request a quote, and our team will size the setup with you.
Utah seasonal plan for expo season, fire season, race weeks and mountain snow
January through March is indoor show season on the Wasatch Front, with an auto expo, a home and garden show and a sportsmen's exposition all listed for 2027. Mountain roads see snow and steep grades, so we plan routes with you.
April starts fire operations, with the state center staffed through November, and spring brings the Moab off-road week and the first outdoor events. In the far southwest, spring and fall are the comfortable seasons for sports.
June brings the Summer Games and an air show at Hill Air Force Base. July through September is peak wildfire season and the Bonneville racing weeks, and county fire restrictions can change how a site is set up.
Refinery and construction teams work year round, with shutdowns often in spring and fall. Tell us the town and the month, and we will plan around what that place is like.
September and October bring the St. George senior games and endurance events, and the salt flats host a finals event in late September. Rooms in the southwest and in gateway towns fill in these months, so tell us your dates as early as you can.

Booking, delivery, service and pickup, step by step
1. Send us your dates and site
Tell us the dates, the address, the head count and what the site has for power. A short call is usually enough to get a quote started.
2. We review power, water and access
We match the trailers to your team and look at the ground, the road in, power and water. Photos of the spot help, and remote sites get extra care.
3. On-site delivery and install
Our team delivers the trailer, sets it level and connects what the site offers. We walk you through how everything works before your first night.
4. We service it and haul it out
On longer stays we restock and clean on a set schedule. When the work wraps up, we pull the trailer and leave the ground as we found it.
Permits, housing rules and trailer hauling across Utah
Utah gives cities and counties wide control over land use, so the answer to whether a team can sleep in a trailer depends on the parcel. We found no single statewide rule for a sleeper trailer on a lot or job site. Start with the city or county planning office and ask about temporary use or construction camp rules before you book.
Local examples show how much the rules differ. Enoch City requires a conditional use permit for living in one RV per lot, issued for one year with owner consent. Iron County uses tiers for RVs on private land, a temporary use of 1 to 16 days and a seasonal use of 17 to 180 days per year, so confirm the current text. Garfield County treats temporary occupancy during construction as a construction camp.
Event sites often need a special event or temporary use permit from the city or county.
Other places word it their own way. Tooele County has updated its rules for a removable temporary dwelling with power, water and septic connections and an inspection, and Mount Pleasant defines an RV as a mobile detached accessory dwelling unit. Ask the local office which category a bunkhouse trailer falls into, since that answer sets the paperwork you need.
Summer fire restrictions, called Stage 1 and Stage 2, can limit open flame and some equipment on unincorporated and state land. Check the current county order before you set up.
For hauling, Utah legal width is 8 feet 6 inches and legal height is 14 feet. We check the route before the truck leaves, since canyon grades and narrow rural roads can be tighter than a highway.
For source information, see the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands for fire restrictions and the wildland fire operations center, the Utah Code on vehicle size limits for hauling, and the Utah Department of Workforce Services Uintah Basin report for energy jobs in the basin.

Questions Utah customers ask about renting a sleeper bunkhouse trailer
What is a sleeper bunkhouse trailer?
It is a towable trailer with beds, parked at or near a work site or event so a group can sleep close by. Each layout has its own spec page with photos and a full sheet.
Who books bunkhouse trailers in Utah?
Event organizers, contractors, energy and refinery teams, fire support groups and families on private land. Many pair the bunkhouse with restroom and shower trailers, and we quote it all together.
Do I need a permit to set up a bunkhouse trailer on my land?
It depends on the city or county. Some require a conditional or temporary use permit for sleeping in a trailer, and the rules differ widely. Ask the local planning office, then call us and we will help you prepare the questions.
Can people live in a trailer on a residential lot?
Many localities restrict long term occupancy, and a few limit the number of RVs per lot or require owner consent. A short job stay can be treated differently from a long one, so get the answer from the local office.
How many days can an RV sit on private land in Iron County?
The county adopted a temporary tier of 1 to 16 days and a seasonal tier of 17 to 180 days per year. Confirm the current text with the county before you plan around it.
How wide can a towed unit be in Utah?
Legal width is 8 feet 6 inches and legal height is 14 feet. We check the route before the truck leaves, including canyon grades and rural roads.
When is group lodging hardest to find in Utah?
Spring and fall around the parks and southwest sports events, and summer around outdoor festivals and fire season. Hotels in small towns fill first, so tell us your dates as soon as you have them.
Do fire restrictions matter before I set up?
Yes. Counties issue Stage 1 and Stage 2 restrictions in dry years, and Summit County had Stage 2 restrictions in 2026. They can limit open flame and some equipment.
Can a trailer go on public land?
Federal land has its own permit and closure rules, and areas such as the Bonneville Salt Flats close during permitted events. Check with the managing agency before you plan a site.
Can restrooms and showers be part of the same order?
Yes. A camp usually needs more than beds, and we schedule restroom and shower trailers, setup and service together under one quote.
Do you deliver to far off sites?
Yes. Send us the address, a photo of the spot and the road or gate in. We check the ground, the grade and the turns before we commit to a placement.
Do you serve the Salt Lake City area with bunkhouse trailers?
Yes, and we have service pages for Salt Lake City, West Valley City and West Jordan with local detail for each.
What should the site look like before the trailer arrives?
Firm, fairly level ground, a clear path for the tow vehicle and the power plan we agree on in advance. Keep the spot clear of rocks, standing water and overhead lines, and leave room for steps and a walkway.
Can one booking cover more than one site?
Yes. Teams moving from one site to the next can schedule moves with us. Send the address of every stop and who will meet the truck, and we will keep the plan in one place.
How do I start a quote?
Call or send the form with your dates, address and head count. Tell us if you also need restrooms, showers or service visits so the quote covers the whole camp.
What events fill Wasatch Front lodging in early 2027?
Listings show the Utah International Auto Expo from January 15 to 18, the Salt Lake Home and Garden Show from March 12 to 14 and a sportsmen's exposition from March 18 to 21. Build and strike teams for these shows often need beds close to the venue.
Will Salt Lake City host the Olympics?
Yes, it is planned. The 2034 Winter Games are set for mostly existing venues, and the years before them are an infrastructure build period.
How busy are Utah's national parks?
The five national parks logged roughly 11 million visits in 2025, with Zion above 4.9 million. Rooms in gateway towns are limited, so groups often look for beds on private land nearby, subject to local rules.
When do the Bonneville racing events happen?
The BLM listed three events for 2026, one from July 27 to August 8, one from August 30 to September 8 and a finals event from September 23 to 29. The flats close to general access during permitted events, so check the current schedule before you plan.
Does Utah have a statewide rule for sleeping in a trailer?
No single statewide rule turned up in our research. Cities and counties decide, so start with the planning office for your parcel.
Is the Uintah Basin a good place for crew housing?
Oil and gas teams there have long lived in man camps, RV parks and hotels, and local hotels are often booked by field workers. A bunkhouse trailer by the pad or yard keeps a team together and cuts the commute to a few steps.
