Los Angeles’s Most-Requested Temporary Laundry Facility Rentals
The Lavatory sends laundry, shower and restroom trailers out of the same fleet on one delivery schedule, so a base camp or relief site gets set up by one team with one phone number. You get one site walk, one service route and one invoice, not three vendors trading calls while the dirty clothes stack up. Pair the washers with our shower trailer rentals in Southern California and a restroom unit, and the whole camp is handled. The same service truck that pumps the laundry tank can take care of the showers and restrooms on that visit, so a 60-person crew camp in Wilmington or a fire recovery site in Altadena sees one truck instead of three. Call us to walk your base camp or relief site, or send a quote request and we will answer with the units that fit your crew.
Why The Lavatory Leads in Portable Laundry Unit Rentals
Our own trailers, every time
A backup comes from the same fleet.
Machines made for work clothes
Industrial washers handle daily loads of muddy jeans, towels and linens, and the basin sink takes the first rinse so grit stays out of the drums.
Service built into the rental
Delivery, setup, cleaning, restocking, waste pumping and pickup are part of the plan. Your team never calls a pump truck.
Dispatch that answers
Proprietary AI dispatch software and trailer monitoring track every unit, and a real person picks up the phone.
Proof on paper
Over 99% of jobs finish without an incident.
Ready for Los Angeles permit maps
The 26 foot 4 inch length, power draw and waste plan go in your quote in writing, so a FilmLA permit or a property manager’s site plan shows exactly where the trailer sits.

“The attendant who set up our laundry trailer was professional and easy to work with. Eight washers kept up with a whole day of extras. I recommend them highly.”

“Convenient having laundry right on the lot. Setup was quick and the team was helpful.”

“Professional, friendly service during our shutdown. They pumped the tank on schedule every time.”
Companies That Trust The Lavatory With Their Trailer Rentals
Large companies book our laundry trailers again and again for long jobs. The Lavatory has provided trailers for names like eBay, Target, Google, Tesla, BMW and Mercedes. The Oakland A’s and Las Vegas Raiders and Caesars Palace have booked us as well.

Washer and Dryer Trailer Rentals Sized for Real Volume
We hold some trailers back for emergencies such as wildfire response, but none is promised ahead of time, so call early with your dates and head count.

The 8-Station is our signature commercial laundry trailer. It carries 8 industrial washers and 8 dryers that run full wash and dry cycles, a large basin sink for stain work and rinsing, a folding table, LED lighting and 2 HVAC units that keep the room comfortable in a Valley heat wave or a cold January morning near the coast. A 750 gallon waste tank holds the wash water until our service truck pumps it. The whole trailer measures 26 feet 4 inches with the tongue, so it fits a standard base camp lane or the edge of a job site lot.
With all 16 machines going at once, a sign-up sheet or one attendant keeps the line short even at shift change. A stacked pair tucked in a corner cannot keep up with that kind of volume; a real laundry room on wheels can.
Smaller sites often do better with the 4-Station Shower, Restroom and Laundry Combo. Inside are four private bathrooms with a toilet, sink, shower and outlet each, and a stacked washer and dryer sits in its own room, so a small housing site needs just one delivery. For a small housing site in Los Angeles, the 4-Station Combo sleeps easy on one delivery: it serves about 30 people, stores 105 gallons of fresh water and drains into a 750 gallon waste tank. Farm crews, small relief teams and remote ranch jobs use it because one delivery covers showers, toilets and clean clothes.
Our own team stocks and services every unit before and during the rental. The 8-Station draws power from two 240 V 50 A circuits, while the combo takes one 220 V 50 A hookup or two 110 V 20 A circuits, and our water and power plan covers any lot that has neither. That is the same setup behind our commercial laundry trailer rentals in Los Angeles. Some Los Angeles jobs last only a weekend and others stretch for many months, and each rental covers delivery, setup, scheduled pumping, restocking and pickup from start to finish. Tell us how many people, how many days and what the site has, and we will size it on the first call.
What every 8-station trailer comes with
Eight washers, eight dryers
Industrial machines for a full wash and dry cycle, built for steady use.
Basin sink and folding table
A large basin sink for pre-soaking work clothes and a table to fold on.
Heat and air conditioning
Two HVAC units keep the room comfortable through a summer job or a winter response.
LED lighting
Bright, even light inside for night shifts and early mornings.
Large waste tank
A 750-gallon waste tank, with pumping scheduled on longer jobs.
Clear power needs
Two 50A/240V circuits within 100 feet, or a generator we stage when the site has none.
Picking between our laundry units
Pick by head count: about 30 people or fewer usually means the combo, and bigger camps get one or more 8-Stations.

Los Angeles 8-Station Laundry Trailer specs
Key specs: Power: Two 50A/240V circuits within 100 ft; Cycle: Full wash & dry; Length w/ Tongue: 26′ 4″; Waste Tank: 750 Gallons. Sizing runs off your head count; we work it out on the call.

Los Angeles 4-Station Restroom, Shower and Laundry Combo specs
A good match for up to 30 crew. Key specs: AC Units: 1 (Smart thermostat); Stations: 4 private baths (toilet + sink + shower + outlet) + laundry room; Length w/ Tongue: 26′ 4″.
Workforce housing and large base camps in Los Angeles often add our shower and restroom trailers, so one team delivers and services the whole setup.

Industrial Laundry Trailer Rentals for Construction and Plant Crews

Rebuilding in Pacific Palisades after the January 2025 fire put long-term crews on hillside lots with no working utilities and a lot of ash and dust in their clothes. Crews on tunnel and station work for the Metro D Line extension under Wilshire come up filthy at shift change. Refinery and terminal shutdowns in the Harbor area add hundreds of contract workers for a few weeks at a time. All three jobs share one problem: work clothes that need washing on site, not at a coin laundry across town at the end of a 12-hour shift.
For a camp of 60 to 120 workers, one 8-Station usually carries the load if the camp runs two shifts and spreads wash times across the day. Above that, we add a second unit and place them side by side so one service truck handles both. The 750 gallon waste tank gets pumped on a schedule we set from your head count, so nothing backs up during a turnaround when nobody has time to deal with it.
Dust and contamination control is the reason a lot of plant and safety managers call. Clothes that get washed on site do not ride home in personal cars, and the basin sink handles a first rinse for grease and soot. The folding table and LED lighting give workers a clean, bright room to sort and fold, whether the job is in the San Fernando Valley in August or the Harbor in a winter fog.
Self-Contained Laundry Trailer Rentals for Harvest and Ranch Crews

Los Angeles County still farms. The Antelope Valley around Lancaster and Palmdale grows carrots, onions and hay, and ranch country runs through Acton, Agua Dulce and the Santa Clarita Valley. Just over the county line, the Oxnard Plain strawberry harvest draws large seasonal crews every spring. Housing for those workers is often a converted motel or a ranch bunkhouse, and laundry is usually the piece nobody planned.
Harvest work leaves clothes covered in soil, pesticide residue and sweat, and Antelope Valley summer afternoons often climb past 100 degrees. Workers who can wash their clothes every night at the housing site stay healthier and more comfortable through a long season. At an Antelope Valley housing site, one 4-Station combo handles roughly 30 workers, with 4 bathrooms and a stacked washer and dryer. For a bigger camp, we park an 8-Station beside the restroom and shower trailers so the whole crew can wash their field clothes at night.
Remote ranch ground often has no sewer, and sometimes no water line. On a bare ranch lot we bring 105 gallons of fresh water per combo and a 750 gallon waste tank for each, and our water and power plan fills in whatever the site lacks. We set a water delivery and pumping route that matches the harvest schedule, which shifts week to week with the crop, and pickup at season’s end is one call.

On long Los Angeles bookings, like a rebuild that goes through winter, we service and restock on schedule.
Portable Laundry Trailer Rentals Across Los Angeles Work Sites
After years of placing trailers around Los Angeles, three kinds of jobs ask for laundry most often: film and TV base camps, construction and industrial crew camps, and farm crews working the edges of the county. A base camp, a crew camp and a farm housing site each need different power, water and space, so we plan each one on its own.
Mobile Laundry Trailer Rentals for Film and TV Base Camps

A Los Angeles base camp is a line of production vehicles parked as tight as the permit allows: equipment trucks, restroom trailers, a catering setup and a wardrobe trailer. Those wardrobe trailers are often 35 to 53 feet long and carry a small laundry area meant for costume care, according to the Costume Designers Guild. They are not built for volume. A shoot with 40 extras in period clothes and a stunt team going through three shirts a day needs far more machines than a wardrobe trailer holds.
That is where the 8-Station comes in. Eight washers and eight dryers wash crew towels, base layers and extras’ clothes in batches, so the costume team keeps its own trailer for fittings, steaming and repairs. We set the unit at the far end of the line, close enough for a wardrobe PA to walk a cart over and far enough that the dryers are never heard on a sound take. Base camps at places like The Brewery in Lincoln Heights or the studio lots around Van Nuys and Burbank each have their own power drops, and we plan the hookup before the truck leaves.
Permits matter here more than in most cities. Filming on City of Los Angeles streets runs through FilmLA, and West Hollywood requires its own permit for base camp activity, so the trailer’s footprint goes on the right map. Our 26 foot 4 inch length plus tongue clearance is the number your location manager needs. We give it to you in the quote, along with the two 240 V 50 A circuits the unit draws, so the generator company can size the feed.
Other Jobs Our Mobile Laundry Units Cover in Los Angeles
Eaton and Palisades fire recovery sites
Families displaced by the January 2025 fires still need a place to wash clothes while homes are rebuilt. An 8-Station at a church lot or school gives a neighborhood working machines again.
Winter shelter and interim housing seasons
Shelter providers add laundry for a set season or a new interim housing site, with service on a fixed schedule.
Apartment laundry room renovations
When an older building’s laundry room is torn out for a remodel, a trailer in the parking lot keeps machines available until the new room opens.
Harbor refinery and terminal shutdowns
Planned maintenance at Wilmington and San Pedro plants brings large contract crews for short stretches. On-site laundry keeps dirty work clothes out of personal cars.
Agency and military field operations
Agencies get the paperwork they need with the units.
Whatever the use, the point is saving time. Our units are staged across the Western states with trailers close to Los Angeles, so a delivery to a base camp or rebuild site here is a routine request.
Permits, Power and Water for On-Site Laundry Trailer Rentals in Los Angeles
Los Angeles is not one permit office. Filming on City of Los Angeles property goes through FilmLA, while West Hollywood, Burbank, Pasadena and Long Beach run their own offices, and Altadena is unincorporated county land. For a lot you own or lease, the signature from the owner or property manager is all we need before we set up. We give you the trailer’s exact size and setup for whoever signs off.
Wash water is the rule most first-time renters miss. Los Angeles stormwater rules bar anything but rain from street gutters and storm drains, so every drop stays in the tank until our truck pumps it.
Power is planned before delivery. For sites anywhere in the state, our portable laundry trailer rentals across California follow the same checklist: two 240 V 50 A circuits for the 8-Station, or a 220 V 50 A or two 110 V 20 A circuits for the combo.
Hookups for Los Angeles covered before the truck leaves
- We arrange power first, two 50A/240V circuits for the 8-Station or a staged generator for sites without hookups.
- We guide you to level ground with clearance for steps and service, even on tight hillside lots.
- We arrange water and schedule waste pumping across the full length of a long rebuild job.
- Every unit we dispatch is licensed and insured, as studio lots and plant sites often require.
Some Los Angeles sites carry their own greywater and placement rules, and a church lot or studio lot will not always match a city street. Please also confirm permit requirements with the property.
The budget math on laundry trailers
A wildfire rebuild crew working in the hills pays for every laundromat trip in wages and fuel.
A trailer on site gives those hours back and cleans work clothes daily.
Three kinds of jobs, and how we plan laundry units for each
Location manager, three-day shoot in Lincoln Heights
When a production adds a large day of extras in period wardrobe, we set an 8-Station at the end of base camp the day before, tie it to the production’s generator, and schedule a mid-shoot pump.
Shelter provider opening a winter site
When a nonprofit opens a seasonal shelter, we pick level ground with a short power run and place the washer trailer beside showers and restrooms. Service follows a fixed weekly route all season.
Plant manager planning a Harbor shutdown
When a refinery schedules a turnaround, we size laundry to the peak contractor count, place the unit near the badge gate, and set pumping around shift change.
Los Angeles Neighborhoods Where We Place Mobile Laundry Trailers
If your site is on the map below, or anywhere near it, call and we will confirm the plan on the first call.
We cover Los Angeles laundry trailers across California. Towns and job corridors we serve include Downtown, Chinatown, Lincoln Heights, Boyle Heights, Echo Park, Silver Lake, Hollywood, Koreatown, Van Nuys, Sun Valley, North Hollywood, Sylmar, Pacoima, Chatsworth, Canoga Park, Westwood, Pacific Palisades, Venice, Playa Vista, South LA, Exposition Park, Watts, San Pedro, Wilmington.
Machine counts and power needs for each unit are on our Los Angeles 8-Station laundry trailer spec page, or call and we will size it to your Los Angeles crew. Planning a headcount? Compare each layout in our CA commercial laundry unit rental. The same fleet reaches events and jobsites well beyond this city through our temporary laundry trailers in California. For a venue elsewhere in the state, start from our portable laundry units for rent serving Los Angeles.
Downtown and Chinatown
LAist reported that Chinatown has no public laundry at all. A trailer on a parking lot or church property puts machines back within walking distance.
Lincoln Heights and Boyle Heights
Production base camps cluster near The Brewery and the industrial streets along the river. Footprint and power get worked out before the permit is filed.
Van Nuys, Sun Valley and the East Valley
Studio lots and warehouse work fill this side of the San Fernando Valley.
Pacific Palisades and the Westside
Fire rebuild crews work hillside lots with few utilities. A self-contained unit with its own waste tank fits sites where nothing is hooked up yet.
San Pedro and Wilmington
Port terminals and refineries bring short, large shutdown crews. On-site laundry near the gate keeps work clothes contained.
South LA and Exposition Park
Large temporary builds and community programs fill this area. Units usually sit on paved lots with easy truck access.
Temporary Laundry Trailer Rentals Beyond the City of Los Angeles
Antelope Valley
Farm housing near Lancaster and Palmdale and solar jobs along Highway 14 use laundry through long seasons. Flat, open ground here makes for easy placement.
Santa Clarita Valley
Ranch work, film ranches and new housing tracts around Valencia and Newhall ask for combos and full laundry units. Ranch roads off the 5 and the 14 need a quick check for truck clearance.
San Gabriel Valley and Altadena
Eaton fire recovery in Altadena and Pasadena keeps relief and rebuild demand steady. Church lots and school parking areas make good level pads.
South Bay and Long Beach
Port work, aerospace plants and shipyard jobs bring large crews to Long Beach, Carson and Torrance. Gated plant sites usually want the unit near the badge entrance.

Your questions about laundry units, answered
Can I keep a mobile laundry unit in Los Angeles for a full season or a multi-month build?
Yes. Rentals run from a few days for a shoot to monthly terms for rebuilds, harvests and shelter programs, with service included. Extending is one call.
Is the rental price based on the trailer alone, or on the whole job?
The whole job. Length, unit type, unit count, distance, pumping and any water or power we bring all move the quote. A flexible start date often gets a better rate.
Where should the washer trailer sit if I also rent shower and restroom trailers?
Usually in a row with them on one level strip, so one truck services all three. On film base camps the laundry goes at the far end, away from sound.
How big is the waste tank, and how often do you pump it?
Both the 8-Station and the 4-Station combo drain into a 750 gallon waste tank, so pumping depends on how many people are using the site. We set pumping from your head count and adjust after the first few days.
When does one 8-Station stop being enough for my camp?
One 8-Station covers roughly 60 to 120 people washing at different times. Past that, or when one shift washes at once, we add a second unit side by side.
How do you set up a laundry trailer for a Valley heat wave or a cold Antelope Valley night?
On hot inland lots we face the door away from the afternoon sun when the ground allows and keep the water hose out of direct sun. On cold desert nights we keep the water line run short so it stays easy to manage. Dryer exhaust gets clear space on every site.
Do your people set up the trailer and handle pickup, or do we?
Our own team delivers, levels, connects and tests the trailer, then walks your site contact through the machines. When the job ends, pickup is one call and we leave the pad clean.
Will I need a city permit to park a portable laundry trailer?
If the trailer sits on private land, the person who owns or manages that lot is the only one who has to say yes. A street or park falls under whichever city or county office controls it, and FilmLA is the one to call for filming on City of Los Angeles property.
Do you provide quotes for government bids or agency purchase orders?
Yes. Send the bid package and we return specs and service terms.
Does the trailer need water and power on site?
It works best with a water hookup and the right circuits. On a bare lot, our water and power plan covers both, and the combo trailer brings its own 105 gallons of fresh water.
Can I rent monthly instead of buying machines for a long-term program?
Many Los Angeles programs do. Renting means no machines to buy or repair, and a failed washer gets swapped from our own fleet.
Temporary Laundry Trailer Planning Guides for Los Angeles
Our guides answer planning questions like how many stations a rebuild crew needs and where to place them.
How Many Washers Does a Los Angeles Job Need? A Sizing Guide
The first question on most calls is simple: how many machines do we need? The answer comes down to four numbers: how many people, how many days, how dirty the work is, and whether everyone washes at once.
A worker on a dusty job site or a harvest crew usually fills one load every two or three days. Film extras in wardrobe are different, because the costume team may wash every garment after every shooting day. Relief guests often arrive with everything needing a wash, so the first week runs heavy.
Peak timing changes everything. Two shifts spread wash times across the day. A whole crew clocking out at 6 p.m. creates a rush one trailer cannot clear quickly, so a second unit or a sign-up sheet makes more sense.
Delicate costumes stay in the wardrobe trailer. Our machines take the volume: crew towels, base layers, socks and T-shirts.
The 8-Station and the 4-Station combo each hold 750 gallons of waste water, so pumping frequency is part of sizing. We set the first pump from your estimate, then adjust.
Have your head count, dates, shift times and address ready, and our team can size and quote the job in one call.
Site Checklist Before a Mobile Laundry Unit Arrives in Los Angeles
Most delays we see in Los Angeles come from four things: the wrong permit office, short power, no plan for wash water, and no room for the truck to swing in.
Find out which city you are actually in. Los Angeles County has 88 incorporated cities, and Burbank, Glendale, Culver City, Santa Monica and West Hollywood all run their own permits. Altadena and East Los Angeles fall under the county.
For a film shoot, mark the trailer’s spot on the permit site map. Plan 26 feet 4 inches with the tongue on the 8-Station, plus room for the door and steps.
Check power early. If the panel or a production generator cannot supply the circuits listed in your quote, our water and power plan covers it.
Wash water must never go into the street or a storm drain, so it stays in the tank until our truck pumps it.
Walk the ground. The trailer needs a reasonably level, firm pad with room for a truck to back in. Overhead wires, low limbs and narrow gates all count on Palisades hillside lots and tight Eastside streets.
Name one site contact with a working cell number for delivery and service calls. West Hollywood’s film office publishes its base camp permit details here.
When a Building’s Laundry Room Goes Down: A Temporary Fix for Los Angeles Property Managers
Los Angeles is a city of renters. Census estimates for 2019 to 2023 show about 36 percent of occupied homes are owner-occupied, which leaves close to two in three households renting.
Laundry rooms close for ordinary reasons. Most closures start with a remodel or a plumbing failure, though a fire or flood in the basement can do it too. A remodel can take weeks. In the meantime, tenants either haul bags to a laundromat or wash by hand in the sink.
The nearest laundromat may not be close. A 2017 analysis of Census data reported that laundry facilities in Los Angeles fell about 17 percent since 2005, and LAist has reported that Chinatown has no laundromat at all. Echo Park lost Lucy’s Laundromat on Sunset Boulevard after 17 years. For tenants without a car, a closed laundry room can mean a long bus ride with a heavy bag.
A rented washer and dryer trailer in the parking lot or courtyard solves the gap. For most mid-size buildings, 8 washers and 8 dryers is more machine capacity than the old laundry room had, which cuts waiting time during the renovation.
Plan the placement with your contractor. Before the trailer arrives, we need level ground to set it on, and the water hookup and power amount listed in your quote have to be ready. There is no drain work to do, and if parking is tight, a partial lot closure for the length of the job is usually enough.
Set the rules early. Post hours, decide whether machines are free or coin and card, and name who tenants should call if a machine stops. Our service team handles cleaning, restocking and repairs.
Tell tenants before the trailer arrives. A short notice with the dates, location and hours prevents confusion and complaints.
The same approach works for a nonprofit housing site or a dorm during a summer upgrade. Call with the building address, unit count and renovation dates, and we will size the trailer and quote the full term. Our hub for mobile laundry trailer rentals for Los Angeles County properties covers every option.
Planning Laundry for a Relief or Shelter Site Before It Is Needed
The January 2025 Eaton and Palisades fires showed how fast a neighborhood can lose its homes, its washers and its routine. In the weeks after, a nonprofit mobile laundry truck served Eaton survivors from a church parking lot, and volunteers set up free wash-and-fold in Pasadena. Those efforts helped. They also showed how much easier relief work goes when laundry is planned before the emergency, not during it.
Santa Ana winds in fall and winter push the region’s fire danger up, so those months are when displacement is most likely. That is also when shelter programs open winter beds. Agencies, churches and nonprofits that may host a relief or shelter site should sort out laundry ahead of time, the same way they plan cots, food and restrooms.
Start with a site. Pick a lot with level pavement, room for a truck to back in and a power source close by. A church parking lot is a good first choice because it is usually flat, open and already known to the neighborhood. Write the address, contact and power details on one page and keep it with your emergency plan.
Decide on scale. A family resource center or a small relief team can usually get by with the 4-Station combo, since it pairs showers and bathrooms with a stacked washer and dryer in one unit. When a shelter fills with evacuees or a relief base camp grows large, we bring one or more 8-Stations and set them beside the shower and restroom trailers.
Line up the paperwork. The Lavatory is registered there and can send specs and service terms ahead of time, so your vendor file is ready and the order can go out the moment it is needed.
Plan for dignity. People who have lost their homes, and people living without one, deserve a clean, private, well-lit place to do laundry. Staff the unit with someone who can explain the machines and help each person through the line kindly.
Know your numbers. The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority’s 2025 count found about 43,700 people experiencing homelessness in the City of Los Angeles. Even a small share of that number at one shelter means steady laundry demand for months.
Call before the season starts. We can walk your site, write a plan and keep it on file, so a single phone call starts delivery when the day comes.
