Chosen by Google and Tesla: why The Lavatory leads on upscale bathroom trailer rentals in Redwood City
Google, Tesla and the Golden State Warriors could hire anyone for their events. They put their guests in our trailers. Fortune 500 teams like these vet a vendor hard before it gets near a client tent or a team party, and we pass that test year after year. Your graduation party or garden wedding gets the same unit, the same cleaning list and the same crew those brands get. We are the largest fleet of luxury restroom trailer rentals in the Western U.S., with more than 250 units that we own outright, so nobody resells your date to a stranger. We hold an A+ BBB rating, a wall of 5-star Google reviews and 30+ years in event rentals. Call us now with your date, or ask for a free quote online and get it back fast.
We own every unit
We are a direct fleet, not a reseller. No broker sits between you and the trailer, and the unit in your quote is the one our own driver tows to your address.
Only luxury units in the yard
We do not own plastic stalls, so there is nothing cheaper to swap in on a busy weekend.
Climate control in every room
Each unit has its own AC and heater, which matters on a hot June patio and a wet December night alike.
Hill road delivery plans
Emerald Hills, Farm Hill and Skyline Boulevard have narrow, steep roads and tight driveways. We walk the route ahead of time so the trailer gets in on the first try.

“We put a two-room trailer behind the garage for my son’s graduation open house off Farm Hill Boulevard. Setting it up took one short phone call. Everybody commented on how fresh it smelled, and the office staff checked in with us twice before the date.”

“Our Emerald Hills retirement party had about ninety people, and nobody had to walk through our house. The rooms had real sinks and good lighting. We plan to book the same restroom trailer for my parents’ anniversary.”

“Our school auction near Redwood City ran past ten at night with a full bar, and the attendant wiped down the sinks and refilled paper the entire evening. Guests noticed.”
Big brands that have booked our upscale restroom trailers
The companies that could rent anything still call us for restrooms, because a cheap plastic unit at a launch party or a shareholder event ruins everything the day is meant to say. The Lavatory has provided luxury restrooms for names like Google, Tesla, BMW, Mercedes, eBay, and Target, for hospitality at Caesars Palace, and for pro sports including the Golden State Warriors, Oakland A’s, and Las Vegas Raiders.

The reason those bookings repeat is simple. A luxury restroom is the one vendor a guest uses and remembers, for better or worse, so the trailer has to be stocked, clean and working from the first guest to the last. That is how we run every unit in the fleet, and it is the same standard behind every Redwood City booking, from a backyard engagement party to a festival gate.
Three decades in event and equipment rental, running the largest luxury restroom trailer fleet in the Western U.S. Every unit ours, never a broker’s.
Temporary bathroom rentals for graduation parties, fundraisers and park events
For most Redwood City backyards, the 3-Station is the sweet spot: it fits a sloped Emerald Hills driveway and plugs into one standard house circuit. Bigger company lawns in Redwood Shores usually get a 5-Station or a 9-Station.

June is graduation season on the Peninsula, and it hits all at once. Sequoia High, Woodside High, Summit, Everest and Cañada College all hand out diplomas within a few weeks, and families throw the backyard party the same Saturday afternoon. A guest list of 80 to 200 people over five or six hours will overwhelm one house bathroom in the first hour. A 2-Station or 3-Station in the driveway keeps guests out of the hallway and off the good towels. Those Saturdays book first, so we tell families to call in March or April.
Fundraisers are a quieter kind of crowd. A school foundation auction or a service club dinner often lands at a donor’s home in Emerald Hills, Atherton or Woodside. The guests are dressed up, a little older, and staying three or four hours with an open bar. We plan an ADA + 2 or a 5-Station for these, with a low step or a ramp, path lights and an attendant who keeps the sinks dry and the paper stocked. Organizers usually want the unit set the afternoon before so volunteers can build the tables around it.
City parks are the third piece. Redwood City has nine parks with picnic areas you can reserve, including Red Morton Park and Stafford Park, and any group of 25 or more needs a picnic permit. Residents can book a year ahead. The park restroom building is sized for a normal weekday. A big family reunion is another story. A trailer near the picnic area cuts the walk and the lines. We check with you that the park office has cleared extra equipment before we drive in.
Bigger community days need a bit more math. A school carnival, a church festival or a fun run on the Bay Trail can pull a few hundred people with food booths. San Mateo County asks for one toilet per 15 food handlers within 200 feet of the booths, with handwashing at the restroom. Our trailers have running water at every sink, which covers that handwashing rule. Give us the peak crowd and the hours, and we will tell you how many units you need and where to put them.
Inside the trailer, item by item
Flushing china toilets
Real porcelain toilets with a foot flush, the same fixtures your guests use at home, not a chemical tank.
Running-water sinks
Stainless steel sinks with real running water, hand soap, and towels, fed by onboard water tanks so you are covered even without a hookup.
Climate control
Air conditioning for a summer afternoon and heat for a cold evening, so the trailer stays comfortable no matter the season.
Framed mirrors and lighting
Oversized framed vanity mirrors, warm interior lighting, and finished flooring that reads like a venue restroom, not a jobsite.
Fully stocked, always fresh
Premium toilet paper, towels, soap, and fragrance, restocked and pumped so the unit stays fresh from the first guest to the last.
Power and water handled
Onboard water tanks plus a generator when your site has no hookup, so the trailer runs anywhere from a vineyard to an open field.
Full specifications for every unit are on the 5-Station spec page and its four sister pages, or call and we will spec it to your Redwood City guest count.
Every configuration lives on the luxury restroom trailer service page. Here is how we match one to a California event.
Sizing deluxe restroom trailers to a Redwood City guest count
Five sizes cover everything from a single ADA-compliant suite to a festival crowd. Every one has flushing china toilets, running water and climate control. Tell us your guest count and how long the event runs, and we will size it.

2-Station Restroom Trailer
One women’s suite and one men’s suite for up to about 150 guests, in a compact box that fits into a driveway or garden path. 105 gallons of fresh water, a 300-gallon waste tank and a single 20A/120V circuit make it the pick for backyard weddings and engagement parties.

3-Station Restroom Trailer
Two women’s suites and one men’s suite for up to about 225 guests, sized for the everyday mid-size gathering, from a milestone birthday to a company off-site. 200 gallons of fresh water, a 400-gallon waste tank, one 20A/120V circuit.

5-Station Restroom Trailer
Women’s side with 3 stalls and 2 sinks, men’s side with 1 stall, 1 urinal and 1 sink, built for 150 to 450 guests so a full reception never waits. 200 gallons of fresh water, a 520-gallon waste tank, one 20A/120V circuit within 100 feet.

9-Station Restroom Trailer
Women’s side with 5 stalls and 2 sinks, men’s side with 2 stalls, 2 urinals and 1 sink, sized for 400 to 900 guests so hundreds of people can move through the line at once. Two AC units, two 20A/120V circuits, a 750-gallon waste tank.

ADA + 2 Restroom Trailer
One women’s suite, one men’s suite and one ADA unisex suite with a self-contained ramp, built to federal and California ADA requirements. Sized for events up to about 200 guests or job sites up to about 30 crew, with 210 gallons of fresh water on board.
An 8-Station Private Stall Deluxe and an ADA + 6 configuration are also in the fleet for big productions and larger guest counts. If you are between sizes, we spec it to your guest count rather than nudge you into more trailer than the day calls for.
Statewide coverage runs through our California restroom trailer hub, with units sized to the guest count.

VIP restroom trailer rentals for sponsor tents, green rooms and stage crews

Downtown Redwood City throws some of the biggest street events on the Peninsula. The Fourth of July parade has run since 1939 and bills itself as the largest Independence Day parade in Northern California, with a 1.3 mile route, a festival on Broadway, Hamilton Street and Middlefield Road, and fireworks over the Port at night. The Salsa Festival, Music on the Square, Hometown Holidays and Rock the Dock at the Port fill the rest of the calendar. The public restroom bank at these events is usually a separate contract. Our job is the area that needs better.
That area looks different at every event. It might be a sponsor lounge near the reviewing stand, a green room behind a stage on Hamilton Street, a volunteer hub that opens at dawn, or a staff area behind a nonprofit beer booth. Each one needs a private restroom that stays clean all day, close to the people who are working. A 2-Station or 3-Station handles a green room of 20 to 60 people. A sponsor area of a few hundred over a full day calls for a 5-Station, and a VIP list past 400 calls for the 9-Station.
Street closures shape the delivery. The trailer has to be on the city site map, out of fire lanes and set before barricades go up, which on the Fourth means very early morning. Power comes from a stage generator or a nearby building outlet on one 20 amp circuit. Pickup happens after the streets reopen. We plan all of that with the event producer weeks ahead, so on the day nobody is calling around looking for a truck.
Corporate VIP tents follow the same pattern. Redwood Shores campuses host client events, launches and holiday parties on their lawns, and Stanford Redwood City has a town square built for gatherings. Facilities teams want a restroom that looks like their own lobby. We set a gate time with security, lay ground protection on the turf, and keep an attendant on site for evening events. An 8-Station Private Stall Deluxe is the pick when every guest should get a fully private room. Call us to plan your tent, or request a free quote online.
Waste tank pumping for VIP restroom trailers on Redwood City jobs

We handle the whole thing, not just the drop-off. Our team delivers the trailer, levels and sets it, connects water and power or stages a generator, and stocks it before your first guest arrives. When the event wraps, we come back and haul it away. You never touch the logistics. That part is on us.
For longer or higher-traffic bookings in Redwood City, we offer an on-site attendant who keeps the trailer stocked and spotless through the event, and we pump and refresh the unit so it holds up from the first guest to the last. That always-fresh standard is the difference between a restroom guests use once and one they are glad to use all night.
Working within Redwood City venue rules for mobile restroom trailers
A party on your own property usually needs no permit for a private restroom trailer in the driveway or the yard. Public space is different. The Redwood City Police Department issues special event permits for any event that closes a street and is run by a business, held for profit, or set on a non-residential street. Events on Courthouse Square go through the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department. Either way, the trailer belongs on the site map you file, along with stages, booths and generators.
Park events have their own rule. A picnic permit is required for any group of 25 or more in a Redwood City park, and residents can book 12 months ahead while non-residents can book six. Ask the picnic office about extra equipment before you add a trailer to the plan. Emerald Hills and North Fair Oaks are unincorporated, so San Mateo County, not the city, reviews street use there.
Food changes the math. San Mateo County Environmental Health requires a temporary event permit at least 14 calendar days before the event. The county asks for at least one toilet for every 15 food handlers, within 200 feet of the food booths, with handwashing at the restroom. Our sinks have running water and soap, which covers that rule. For public events, plan at least one accessible unit, and our ADA + 2 has a built-in ramp that meets the California standard. Call us before you file, and we will send a site sketch with your free quote.

Ramps, suites and venue access on the site
- ADA-accessible units with a self-contained ramp, wide door, grab bars, and turning room.
- Guidance on where to place the trailer so it is easy to reach and easy to service.
- Water and power sorted before delivery, with a generator staged when the site has no hookup.
- Licensed and insured on every unit we put on the road.
One thing we always say plainly: some venues and city permits have their own rules on placement, accessibility, and event restrooms. Tell us your venue and we will help you plan around them, but confirm any permit requirements with the venue or the city as well.
Planning the portable restroom trailers line of a Redwood City budget

Think about what a Redwood City event actually costs to put on. The venue, the catering, the flowers, the photographer, the hours of planning. Then picture a guest walking out of a hot plastic box in the middle of all of it. Nobody plans for that. The restroom is the one vendor every single guest uses, often more than once, and it is the detail they quietly judge the whole event by.
A luxury restroom trailer protects everything else you spent on. It reads like an extension of the venue, holds up through a full day of guests, and gives people one less thing to remember for the wrong reason. Set against the total cost of the day, it is a small line item that quietly carries a lot of the impression, which is exactly why the hosts who have been burned once book the trailer first the next time.
Luxury bathroom trailer rentals for estate gardens, wineries and hillside backyards

Weddings are the biggest reason people call us, and Redwood City sits in the middle of some of the best garden venues in the Bay Area. Filoli, just over Interstate 280 on Cañada Road, has 16 acres of formal gardens, a courtyard that seats 220, and full-estate buyouts that can host far more. Its built restrooms are planned for daytime visitors. A five hour buyout reception with a bar needs more room close to the tent and the dance floor, and that is where one of our trailers goes.
Smaller venues have the same problem on a smaller scale. La Honda Winery on Fair Oaks Avenue, Mountain Terrace up on Skyline Boulevard and Kohl Mansion in Burlingame all host private events with a few indoor restrooms. Skyline is long and winding, so we schedule an early delivery and send a driver who knows that road. On any venue with limited plumbing, we size the trailer to carry most of the load and put it on a lit path out of the ceremony photos.
Backyard weddings are where we do the most scouting. Emerald Hills lots are bigger than most on the Peninsula, but they are sloped, shaded by oaks and reached by narrow roads. First we look for a pad that is level side to side. Then we check that the truck can reach it without backing down a blind curve. Last comes power: an outlet within 100 feet with nothing else on the circuit. Our jacks handle the last few inches of slope. The trailer faces away from the property line so the neighbors stay friendly.
For 100 to 175 guests with a bar, a 3-Station or a 5-Station fits. Close to 200 guests with a late dance set calls for the 5-Station. If grandparents or a guest in a wheelchair are coming, add the ADA + 2 or pick it as the main unit. On a long reception, an attendant keeps the rooms looking like hour one at hour five. That last detail is what couples remember. Call us early in the planning, because June and September Saturdays go fast.
Other private restroom trailer rentals we handle around Redwood City
Most of our Redwood City work comes from three places: school and community events, weddings on private property, and VIP areas at the city’s bigger festivals. Each one needs its own plan, and the notes below come from setting trailers at exactly these kinds of sites. Call us to talk through yours, or get a free quote online.

Remodels in Mount Carmel and Redwood Oaks
Older homes with one bathroom lose it for weeks during a remodel. A 2-Station in the driveway keeps the family at home instead of in a hotel.

Restaurant renovations on Middlefield Road
Kitchens and dining rooms in North Fair Oaks and downtown get rebuilt between leases. A trailer by the back door keeps staff on the job.

Owner areas at Sequoia Station and Stanford Redwood City
Long builds need a clean restroom for owners, inspectors and tour groups. We set a 2-Station or 3-Station near the site office and service it weekly.

Water main breaks and storm damage
When a main breaks in Emerald Hills or a storm floods a ground floor, the trailer brings its own fresh water. We deliver fast and service it until repairs are done.

Film and commercial shoots
Production crews shoot downtown, at the Port and around the Shores lagoons. A clean unit near base camp keeps talent and crew close to set.

Holiday parties at Hometown Holidays time
December events need heat more than AC. Every unit has a heater, so guests step into a warm room on a cold, damp night.
What ties these together is the guest experience. Nobody remembers a restroom that worked, but everybody remembers one that did not. Because our units sit staged across the region instead of a couple counties away, getting a luxury trailer to a Redwood City date, even a last-minute one, is an ordinary ask here, not a scramble.
Room by room: the bathroom trailer rentals we bring to Redwood City
Our restroom trailers, and the kinds of events we set them up for. Backyard weddings, vineyard receptions, corporate lots, film sets, and the festival gates where the lines have to move.

Picking a setup for VIP restroom trailers in Redwood City

Typical setup: a 150 guest wedding on a sloped Emerald Hills lot
When a couple books a hillside backyard, we visit the site a week or two ahead to pick a level pad and find a free outlet. Delivery happens the afternoon before. The 5-Station goes behind the garage with lights along the path, and the AC comes on a few hours before guests arrive.
Typical setup: a sponsor lounge at a downtown festival
When a producer needs a private restroom for sponsors near the stage, we get the spot onto the city site map and deliver before the barricades go up. A 3-Station sits behind the tent on a building outlet. An attendant restocks through the afternoon, and pickup happens after the streets reopen.
Typical setup: an all-hands lunch on a Redwood Shores campus lawn
When a company plans a lawn event for a few hundred people, we set a delivery time with security and use the loading dock road. Ground mats protect the turf. Two 5-Station units go at opposite ends of the lawn so lines stay short, with an ADA + 2 on the accessible path.
Redwood City neighborhoods we serve with deluxe restroom trailers

We deliver across all of Redwood City, from downtown and the Port to Redwood Shores, Emerald Hills and Farm Hill, plus San Carlos, Atherton, Menlo Park and Woodside on the same routes. Our California restroom trailer rentals cover the whole state, including San Mateo restroom trailer rentals just up El Camino Real, San Jose luxury restroom trailers to the south, Sunnyvale portable restroom trailers along Highway 101 and San Francisco bathroom trailer rentals up the Peninsula. Heading south on El Camino Real, we also cover Palo Alto VIP restroom trailer rentals for backyard weddings and Research Park events.
We cover Redwood City luxury restroom trailer rentals across California. Neighborhoods and towns we serve include Downtown Redwood City, Redwood Shores, Emerald Hills, Farm Hill, Mount Carmel, Woodside Plaza, Friendly Acres, Roosevelt, Redwood Oaks, Centennial, Palm Park, Eagle Hill, Edgewood, North Fair Oaks, San Carlos, Belmont, Atherton, Menlo Park, Woodside, Portola Valley, San Mateo, East Palo Alto, Palo Alto, Redwood Village.
For a venue elsewhere in the state, start from the California restroom trailer page.
Downtown
Courthouse Square, Broadway and Theatre Way host most of the city’s big public events. Street closures start early, so we deliver the day before whenever the permit allows.
Redwood Shores
Corporate campuses, a conference center and homes on the lagoons. Gated roads and irrigated lawns mean we plan gate times and ground protection for every job.
Emerald Hills
Large hillside lots with views and narrow, curving roads. Most of our backyard weddings here start with a site walk and a leveling plan.
Farm Hill
The inland edge of the city near Cañada College. Summer afternoons run warmer here, so AC matters more for June parties.
Friendly Acres and the Port
A mix of homes, light industry and the Port’s event lawn, all close to Highway 101. Paved lots here fit our biggest units easily.
North Fair Oaks
Busy restaurants and family homes along Middlefield Road. Renovations and family parties keep our smaller units moving here all year.
Most Redwood City rentals can be delivered the same day, and our dispatch line answers 24/7 for last-minute and emergency dates.
Five-star reviews of our temporary bathroom trailers

“A Redwood Shores lunch for our engineering team went off without a hitch thanks to the bathroom trailer we booked. Each room was spotless at noon and still spotless at four. Their attendant was polite to everyone on our staff.”

“Quick replies to every email about outlets, slope and where the restroom trailer should sit. They clearly travel all over California, yet they treated our small Redwood City party like it mattered. The two delivery guys were friendly and very careful on our tight street.”

“Courteous people who show up when they say they will. Our Woodside Plaza driveway is steep, and they leveled the restroom trailer in about twenty minutes.”

“Our sponsor tent at a downtown Redwood City festival had its own private restroom trailer, and the attendant handled every request with a smile.”

“Parents at our school trunk or treat in Redwood City loved having a clean restroom trailer outside instead of a long line inside the gym.”

“The driver who brought our trailer was a hard worker and fun to talk with. He got it level on a sloped Redwood City lot without any fuss and had the lights on well before our guests showed up.”
What wedding planners ask about deluxe restroom trailers in Redwood City

Do your luxury restroom trailers really feel different from a porta potty at a wedding?
Yes, and guests notice right away. Our trailers have flushing china toilets, sinks with running water, mirrors, lights and their own AC and heat. Each room is separate and locks. A porta potty is a plastic box with a tank and no sink, which is why we do not own any.
Will you deliver the trailer the day before my Saturday party in Farm Hill?
In most cases, yes. We like to deliver the afternoon or day before, level the unit, test the power and stock it, so you are not waiting on a truck the morning of the event. Pickup is usually the next business day. For downtown events with street closures, we set a delivery time that fits the permit.
Can someone keep the restrooms clean during a long fundraiser or reception?
Yes. We can send an attendant who stays through the event, wipes down sinks and counters, restocks paper and soap, and keeps the floors dry. For multi-day rentals, our crew comes back on a set schedule to pump the tanks and restock. Long receptions with an open bar benefit most from an attendant.
Is a permit needed for a portable restroom trailer at a Redwood City park or on a downtown street?
A park group of 25 or more needs a picnic permit from the city, and you should clear extra equipment with the picnic office. Events that close a street need a special event permit through the police department, and Courthouse Square events go through Parks, Recreation and Community Services. On your own driveway or yard, a private party usually needs nothing. Check your HOA rules in Redwood Shores before a long rental.
Where can I get an ADA restroom trailer with a ramp for older guests?
Right here. Our ADA + 2 Restroom Trailer has a built-in ramp, a large accessible unisex room, and a separate women’s and men’s room. It fits events of up to about 200 guests, or it can sit beside a larger trailer as the accessible option. For public events, plan at least one accessible unit in every bank.
What should I book for a 600 person company event on a Redwood Shores lawn?
A 9-Station handles about 400 to 900 guests over five hours, so one may be enough. On a big lawn, two 5-Station units at opposite ends usually work better because guests walk less and lines stay short. Add an ADA + 2 on the accessible path. Tell us the hours and whether there is a bar, and we will size it with you.
When does a mobile restroom trailer need a generator instead of house power?
Most of our units run on one standard 20 amp, 120 volt circuit within about 100 feet. The 9-Station and the ADA + 2 need two circuits. If the nearest outlet is too far, already loaded, or the site has no power at all, we bring a quiet generator. Hillside sites in fire season need clear ground around a generator, which we plan for.
How is the cost of a temporary restroom trailer worked out?
The main factors are the trailer size, how many units, how many days, the delivery distance and access, and extras like a generator or an attendant. Holiday weekends and June graduation Saturdays book up first. Send us your date, guest count, event hours and the address, and we will give you a clear written quote.
Can a trailer make it up a steep, narrow road in Emerald Hills?
Usually, yes. We check the route and the driveway ahead of time, including tight curves, low branches and the turnaround. Our trailers come in several lengths, so we pick one that fits the access. If the drive is too tight, we find a nearby level spot and run a lit path to it.
How far ahead should I book for the Fourth of July weekend in Redwood City?
Book as early as you can, ideally by spring. The parade, the festival and fireworks at the Port all fall on one day, and private parties across town book the same weekend. Graduation Saturdays in June fill early too. Once we confirm your date, we hold that trailer for you.
Can you help fast if a water main break or a flood leaves my home or restaurant without a bathroom?
Yes. Our trailers carry their own fresh water and waste tanks, so they work even when the building has no water. Call us with the address and how many people need it, and we will set a delivery as quickly as we can. We keep servicing it until your plumbing is fixed.
Redwood City guides for party sizing, hillside setups, festival permits and power

Deeper reading for hosts and planners, from sizing a trailer to your guest count to keeping guests comfortable through a long event. Tap any guide to open it.
How many restroom stations a Redwood City graduation party needs
Start with the busiest hour, not the total guest list. A graduation open house where people come and go over six hours might see 200 names on the list but only 90 people at once. A sit-down party where everyone arrives at 3 p.m. and stays for dinner is the harder case. A 2-Station covers about 75 guests for an afternoon. A 3-Station is the safe pick for 100 to 150, and the 5-Station takes over from there. Beer and wine push you up a size, and so do lots of small kids and older relatives.
Next, think about where it goes. Most Redwood City driveways fit a 2-Station or 3-Station, and the unit plugs into one free 20 amp circuit, usually a garage outlet. Keep the trailer close enough that guests do not walk through the house, but far enough from the food table to feel separate. Tell us if the driveway slopes, and we will bring the right blocks. If the party is in a park, get the city picnic permit first, then call us with the site.
Setting a deluxe restroom trailer on a sloped Emerald Hills or Woodside lot
Hillside sites are where most problems happen, and almost all of them are avoidable. Walk the property with your planner and look for three things. First, a spot that is level side to side within a few inches. Our jacks can handle a gentle grade front to back. Second, a clear route for a truck and trailer, with no low branches, tight switchbacks or soft shoulders. Third, an outlet within about 100 feet that has nothing else plugged into it.
If the only flat ground is far from the reception, we can run a lit path to it rather than force the trailer onto a slope. Gravel and dry grass work fine in summer. After winter rain, soft ground needs plywood or mats under the wheels and stairs. Some foothill homes sit in fire hazard zones, so if we bring a generator, we keep the ground around it clear. Send us photos of the driveway and the spot you have in mind, and we will tell you before delivery day whether it works.
Planning restrooms into a downtown Redwood City event permit
Any event that closes a downtown street needs a special event permit, and the restroom plan is part of the site map you file. Mark the busy spots first: the food row, the beer area, the stage and the kids’ zone. Then place restrooms near those spots instead of in one far corner. If food is served, San Mateo County wants one toilet for every 15 food handlers, within 200 feet of the booths, with handwashing at the restroom. File the county temporary event permit at least 14 days ahead.
Leave room for the VIP side, too. Sponsors, performers, volunteers and staff should not wait in the public line. A separate 2-Station or 3-Station behind the stage or sponsor tent is the most common way to handle it. Plan the delivery before barricades go up and the pickup after the street reopens, and note both times on the permit. The county’s forms and rules for temporary events are on the San Mateo County Health site.
Power and water for a portable restroom trailer, explained simply
People are often surprised that our trailers do not need a hose. Each one carries its own fresh water and a much larger waste tank. The 2-Station holds 105 gallons of fresh water, and the larger units hold around 200. For a normal one-day event, that is plenty. For longer rentals, our crew comes back on a schedule to pump the waste and refill the fresh water, so you never have to think about it.
Power is just as simple. Most units need one 20 amp, 120 volt circuit within about 100 feet, and it works best when nothing else is on that circuit. A coffee urn or a heater on the same line is what trips breakers. The 9-Station and the ADA + 2 need two circuits. No outlet? We bring a quiet generator. If a storm or a planned shutoff knocks out power, a generator keeps the AC, heat and lights running.
What to ask before you book any luxury restroom trailer on the Peninsula
Ask who owns the trailer. Some companies book your date and then rent a unit from someone else, which is how the wrong trailer shows up. Ask whether the price includes delivery, setup, stocking, servicing and pickup, or whether each one is added later. Ask how the rooms are cooled and heated. Ask whether the unit has real flushing toilets and running water at the sinks, or a recirculating tank.
Then ask about the day itself. Who do you call if something goes wrong at 8 p.m. on a Saturday? Will someone check the unit during a long event? What happens if your guest count grows by 50? A good company answers all of this without hedging. For a big park event, check the city picnic rules on the Redwood City site before you sign anything.
