Why choose The Lavatory

Albuquerque’s clear choice for hot-water shower trailer rentals

Every job we set up gets planned so each person on the crew can use the showers. So the ADA plus 2 shower trailer sits in our standing inventory, not on a maybe list. It has a ramp and a roll-in stall with a seat and a wand, and it pairs with any trailer we send. We own the largest luxury trailer fleet in the Western U.S., and we have spent eight years staging portable shower trailers in this market. Our New Mexico shower trailer rentals are licensed and insured, with 30 plus years in event and equipment rental behind every delivery. Call us or get a free quote and we will hold the units you need.

Real rooms with real hot water

Every station is a deluxe shower room with its own hot and cold controls, not a stall in a plastic box. People close a door behind them. On a crew that has been in the sun since sunrise, that is the difference between a shower they use and one they skip.

We own all 250 plus units

We are not calling another company to find your trailer. The fleet is ours. The trucks are ours. The service techs work for us. When a job changes on a Tuesday, we are moving our own equipment instead of renegotiating with a broker.

Station count built from your head count

Tell us how many people and when they finish, and we do the math backward from that. A 200 person site with two shifts is a different plan from a 200 person tournament that empties in an hour. We would rather get that right than sell you extra rooms.

We stage units here before the seasons that need them

Before the summer lightning window and before monsoon season, we position units in the metro rather than waiting for a call. Pre-staged equipment is the only honest way to answer a fire camp in hours instead of days.

What holds up

Proof from the sports camps we have served with shower trailers

The companies that could rent anything still call us, because a bad shower at a base camp or a film set becomes the story of the whole job. The Lavatory has provided trailers for names like Google, Tesla, BMW, Mercedes, eBay, and Target, for hospitality at Caesars Palace, and for pro sports including the Golden State Warriors, Oakland A’s, and Las Vegas Raiders. For fields and race routes outside Albuquerque, we also offer hot-water showers in Santa Fe.

The reason those bookings repeat is simple. A hot shower at the end of a long day is the one thing a crew remembers about the camp. A fire agency near Albuquerque once called on a Thursday because the unit another company promised for a weekend base camp fell through, and we had a fully stocked trailer set and heated with hours to spare. A production running a long shoot outside town needed showers that held up day after day for cast and crew, and the same trailer stayed spotless through the whole schedule because our team serviced it. That standard travels to every Albuquerque booking, from a two-week jobsite to a festival campground. After a disaster, clean clothes matter, which is why we wrote about laundry for evacuees.

Three decades in event and equipment rental, running the largest luxury trailer fleet in the Western U.S. Every unit ours, never a broker’s.

Inside the trailer

Private shower trailer rentals for Albuquerque tournaments and team camps

At 35 feet with the tongue, the 8-Station still drops into a fenced staging lot downtown as long as a tow rig can get in and back out. On the open pads at Mesa del Sol we set it so the afternoon wind pushes grit away from the door.

An 8-Station private shower trailer parked on the gravel edge of a turf soccer complex at sunset, athletes in uniform walking toward it, Sandia Mountains in the background

Bernalillo County finished phase three of the Mesa del Sol Sports Complex in January 2026, adding four turf fields for a total of 12. Twelve fields at one site means a Saturday tournament can run several hundred athletes through a campus with no permanent shower building on it. The NM Youth Soccer Complex runs 22 fields and holds whole club tournaments in one place. Out in Bernalillo, the State Farm Bernalillo Soccer Complex has lights, so games end after dark and teams clean up later than the schedule says.

We have learned to plan these weekends around one hour, not one day. Twenty teams finish inside the same hour on a 95 degree August afternoon. A row of private rooms with metered heads moves that crowd. One restroom block does not. Athletes rinse, change, and get in a van, so we set the unit close to the parking lot rather than close to the field.

Inside the trailer, item by item

Private rooms with a lockable door

Every shower is its own room with a door that locks, a bench and a hook, so a crew or a camp showers with real privacy instead of a curtain in a row.

Hot and cold water controls

A water heater and onboard tanks feed hot and cold controls in each room, with 1.5 GPM shower heads so the hot water lasts through a full shift of people.

Air conditioning and heat

Climate control in every trailer, so a shower in a July heat wave or a January storm response feels like the one at home.

One-piece gel-coated fiberglass

Walls, ceiling and floor are one molded fiberglass surface with no seams, which is why the rooms clean fast, stay clean and never smell like a locker room.

Runs with or without hookups

Fresh and waste tanks on board, a generator when the site has no power, and the option to tie into on-site septic on a long deployment.

Serviced, stocked and pumped

We deliver the trailer stocked and come back to pump, restock and clean on longer jobs, so day twelve looks like day one.

Indoor events load the same way for different reasons. The Rio Rancho Events Center hosted NMAA state wrestling on February 20 and 21, 2026, and the NMAA powerlifting championship on April 10 and 11, 2026. Wrestlers weigh in, compete, and then face a long drive home. And in February the parking lot is cold, which is why heat and a smart thermostat matter more at a winter tournament than most people expect.

Road races spread the need out instead. The Duke City Marathon runs Sunday, October 18, 2026, with a 7:00 a.m. start from Civic Plaza, then Historic Route 66 and the paved Paseo del Bosque Trail beside the Rio Grande. Staging areas along the bosque sit a long way from any building with plumbing. Team camps are the other half of this work. A camp that sleeps on site needs showers every day, not once, and that is a laundry conversation too. Hookup and delivery rules outside Albuquerque are covered under portable restroom trailer rentals throughout New Mexico.

Full specifications for every unit are on the 8-Station spec page and its four sister pages, or call and we will spec it to your Albuquerque head count.

Five sizes of portable shower trailers, and how to pick one for Albuquerque

Five shower units cover everything from a single ADA-compliant room to a camp that showers two hundred people a day. Every one has hot water, private rooms and climate control. Tell us the head count, how long the job runs and what the site has for water and power, and we will size it.

Bigger jobs run several trailers side by side, and long deployments get a service schedule instead of a one-time drop. If you are between sizes, we spec it to the head count rather than nudge you into more trailer than the job calls for.

Statewide coverage runs through our New Mexico shower trailer hub, with units sized to the head count.

Skip the guesswork

Four steps to a crew shower trailer on an Albuquerque site

Booking should be the easy part of running a site. Four steps, a straight answer, and one team that owns the whole thing.

1

Tell us about the site

Share the dates, a rough head count and where the trailer will sit. That is enough for us to point you to the right unit and count.

2

We match the trailer and the hookups

We confirm whether the site has water and power or needs a generator and a supply, and pin the exact spot so delivery is one clean trip.

3

Delivery and setup

We arrive on your schedule, level and set the trailer, connect it, heat the water and stock every room so it is ready before the first shift ends.

4

Use it, we handle service and pickup

The trailer holds up through the whole deployment while our line stays open. When you are done, we come back and take it away.

Plan around it

Real numbers

What one shift without a mobile shower unit costs base camps

Hot-water shower trailer staged outside Albuquerque

Think about what an Albuquerque deployment actually costs to run. Wages, lodging, fuel, the schedule pressure, the people you are asking to work long days away from home. Then picture the end of that shift with nowhere to get clean. A shower is the one thing every person on site uses, and it is the detail they quietly judge the whole camp by.

A private shower trailer protects everything else you are spending. Crews sleep better and stay on the job, a production keeps cast and crew comfortable through a long schedule, and a relief site gives people back a piece of normal. Set against the cost of the deployment, it is a small line item that carries a lot of the morale, which is why the managers who have run a camp without one book the trailer first the next time.

In real terms

What happens after crew shower trailers land on an Albuquerque site

Delivery and service visit on the middle Rio Grande valley shower trailer job

We handle the whole thing, not just the drop-off. Our team delivers the trailer, levels and sets it, connects water and power or stages a generator and a water supply, fires the heater and stocks every room before the first person needs it. When the job wraps, we come back and haul it away.

On longer or higher-traffic bookings in Albuquerque, we pump and restock on a schedule, and an on-site attendant is available for camps and productions where the trailer runs all day. That always-clean standard is the difference between a shower people use once and one they are glad to use every night of the job.

More Albuquerque work our shower trailers cover

Three kinds of jobs make up most of what we deliver in this valley. Tournament and race weekends. Construction and industrial camps. Harvest and ranch crews out in the fields. Some need a temporary shower setup for one weekend. Others run for years. Each one loads a bank of stations differently, and we plan for that before the trailer leaves the yard.

Film and TV base camps in Albuquerque

Film and TV base camps

Albuquerque ranked second on MovieMaker’s 2026 list of best big cities for film, and local shoots put base camps on dirt lots well outside town. A crew on a 12 hour call needs somewhere to clean up before the drive home. We place units out of frame and off the generator run, and we move with the company to the next location.

Fire and flood response in Albuquerque

Fire and flood response

Lightning starts in the Sandias and the Manzanos do not give notice, and neither does a monsoon cell. We keep units staged in the metro through the summer so a crew can have hot water the same day the camp goes up. Agency paperwork is already in place on our side.

Outreach and hygiene programs in Albuquerque

Outreach and hygiene programs

The city bought three ADA shower and laundry trailers in 2026 for its own outreach teams, which tells you how real this need is here. We support programs run by shelters, health clinics and street outreach groups. ADA access and laundry pairing are the two things these deployments always ask for.

Agency and base work in Albuquerque

Agency and base work

Work on Kirtland Air Force Base and at Sandia National Laboratories comes with badging, escorts and procurement rules. We are SAM.gov registered and we handle escorted drops. Contractors on those sites cannot simply drive off for a break, so sanitation has to be inside the fence.

Festival and remote camping in Albuquerque

Festival and remote camping

Balloon Fiesta week fills RV areas and vendor lots with people who are on site before dawn for nine straight days. Glamping setups have the same shape. We treat it as a temporary shower facility for the whole run, with a daily service visit and a truck route that stays off the event footprint.

What ties these together is that a hot shower changes how a long day ends. Because our units sit staged across the region instead of a couple of states away, getting a shower trailer to an Albuquerque site, even on a short-notice call, is an ordinary ask here, not a scramble.

How we price it

Accessibility and site rules for shower trailers around Albuquerque

Shower water is a regulated class in New Mexico, and that is a good thing for anyone renting. The state’s liquid waste rule, 20.7.3 NMAC, covers on-site liquid waste systems taking 5,000 gallons or less a day. It defines graywater as untreated wastewater that has never touched toilet waste, and it names showers and bathtubs in that definition. Washbasins and clothes washers are in there too. Separate sections of the same rule govern how septage and holding tank waste get disposed of. We haul and dispose under those rules and we keep the paperwork, so the waste from your site is documented instead of being somebody’s guess.

Worker heat exposure is moving in the same direction. The New Mexico Environment Department’s Occupational Health and Safety Bureau has a Heat Illness and Injury Prevention rule in rulemaking, proposed in March 2025 and still in hearings. As written, it asks employers to assess heat exposure once the heat index hits 80 degrees, then put controls in place: rest breaks, drinking water, cooling areas and monitoring, plus a written plan in English and any other language most of the crew reads. Construction is named as one of the industries most at risk. Careful contractors here are already doing the work, and a shower at the end of a shift is part of how a crew actually cools down and recovers before the next one.

Getting water and access squared away is the last piece. The Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority runs a fire hydrant meter program for construction water, reviews applications inside three business days, and expects the meter back when the permit ends. Filming on city property needs a permit filed 72 business hours ahead with a certificate of insurance naming the City. And Stage 1 fire restrictions covered the Sandia and Mountainair ranger districts from May 8, 2026, which changes what a camp in that country can do with open flame. We work inside all of it, and we will tell you which permit is yours and which one is ours before the trailer is scheduled.

Ramps, rooms and siting on the site

  • ADA-compliant shower units with a ramp, roll-in shower, seat, hand wand, grab bars and an ADA-height sink.
  • Guidance on where to place the trailer so it is easy to reach, easy to service and level.
  • Water and power sorted before delivery, with a generator and a water supply staged when the site has neither.
  • Licensed and insured on every unit we put on the road.

One thing we always say plainly: some sites, agencies and city permits have their own rules on placement, accessibility, greywater and temporary hygiene facilities. Tell us the site and we will help you plan around them, but confirm any permit requirements with the property or the agency as well.

Mobile shower unit rentals for harvest and ranch crews in the valley

A self-contained shower trailer parked at the edge of a green chile field in the Rio Grande valley, harvest bins stacked nearby, early morning light

Chile season sets the calendar. The 2026 harvest ran from late July into early October, with green chile peaking in August and red chile in September. Growers put in close to 9,800 acres of chile in 2026, up from 8,200 the year before, and they did it through drought and a tight labor market. Picking is hand work in heat. A crew finishes coated in dust and plant residue, and August does not move for anybody.

Water is the part people outside farming miss. The Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District serves about 11,000 irrigators, and 2026 was one of its hardest spring seasons on record. Sections of the Rio Grande were drying through Albuquerque by June 5, and deliveries above Isleta Pueblo were suspended while stored water went to Prior and Paramount lands. Rain opened short windows in July and again in late August, good for two to four days at a time. When a farm’s ditch water is off, nobody wants a shower rig pulling from the same line that waters the field. So we run tanks and we truck water in.

Livestock work runs year round instead of in a window. Bernalillo County is one of the leading alfalfa counties in the state, and hay is the feed base for both beef and dairy here. Valley dairies in Bernalillo and Valencia counties are the smallest in New Mexico, averaging under 500 cows, which means family operations with small crews and no spare building. Horse properties and small ranches sit inside city limits in the North Valley and the South Valley.

Restoration and habitat crews count too. Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge in the South Valley was a dairy farm before it was a refuge, and the people working it are out in the open all day. After years of serving field crews out here, the first thing we plan for is distance. Once a site is 20 minutes past the last gas station, the shower unit has to be self-sufficient on water, waste and power, or it becomes somebody’s daily errand.

Crew shower trailer rentals for Albuquerque job sites and long camps

A crew shower trailer staged on a gravel pad at a large industrial construction site, temp power panel nearby, workers in hard hats queueing at dusk

Construction starts in this market were expected to climb 29 percent in 2026 after rising 38 percent the year before. That is two big years back to back, and it shows up on the ground as more people on site for longer. AGC New Mexico has pushed paid pre-apprenticeships and registered apprenticeships because crews are the limiting factor. Concrete, trenching and fit-out work all send people home dirty, and the last hour of a shift is worth more when there is somewhere to clean up.

The 8-Station private shower trailer is what we send to the big ones. Intel opened Fab 9 in Rio Rancho and has been running a packaging expansion that hired around 1,000 construction workers, with training funds upskilling 398 more workers in the first quarter of 2026. South of town, Meta’s Los Lunas campus carries about 1,100 construction workers, and the approved expansion adds two more buildings over roughly three years. A camp that size is a multi-unit plan from day one.

Linear work downtown is the opposite problem. The Rail Trail is a 7 mile loop being built in segments, with the Central Avenue railroad crossing and a new pedestrian bridge at First and Central replacing underpasses that had not changed in 50 plus years. There is nowhere to park a facility except a fenced lot, so placement gets decided before the contract does. The I-25 rebuild at Montgomery and Comanche started in August 2024 and runs into spring 2027 on a stretch carrying about 100,000 vehicles a day. Crews there work inside barrels with no building within reach.

Then there is the federal side. Sandia National Laboratories opened its CAMINO manufacturing center in February 2026, Pacific Fusion broke ground on a research and manufacturing campus near the labs, and work keeps running on Kirtland Air Force Base. Badged sites mean escorted deliveries and crews who cannot leave on a break. We are SAM.gov registered for that reason. And on a three year build we would rather tie into septic and hold a standing service route than book a pump truck over and over.

What happens next

How our private shower trailers handled three Albuquerque jobs

Shower trailer between deployments near Los Lunas

Field director, youth soccer tournament at a 12 field complex

Her problem was a schedule, not a crowd. Eight brackets all finished between 4:00 and 5:00 on a Saturday in August, and the nearest building was a concession stand. We set the 8-Station on the gravel strip between the fields and the parking lot, with the exterior 4-sink hand wash bank on the 8-Station facing the walkway so kids washed up without going inside. Teams cycled out in under an hour and the fields cleared before the evening games.

Superintendent, data center build south of town

He called in March about a camp that was going from 60 people to more than 200 by summer. We started with one 8-Station and a 4-Station combo with laundry, then added a second 8-Station in June as the headcount climbed. The laundry unit was the surprise win. Once the crew stopped driving home dirty, the complaints about the camp stopped too.

Ranch manager, valley hay operation during a dry season

His ditch water was shut off and he was not about to run a shower rig off his well. We delivered a 4-Station combo with full tanks, set a water delivery twice a week, and pumped on the same trip. He kept a six person crew working through the second cutting without touching his own water.

Albuquerque area districts we serve with mobile shower unit rentals

Service area map for shower trailers around Albuquerque and Rio Rancho

We deliver across Bernalillo County and into Sandoval and Valencia counties, from the East Mountains to the West Mesa. Most of the metro is a same-week drop, and emergency work is dispatched around the clock. If your site sits past the edge of this map, call us anyway, because we run mobile shower trailer rentals in all 50 states and the long hauls are routine.

We cover Albuquerque shower trailer rentals across New Mexico. Towns and job corridors we serve include Downtown, Old Town, Barelas, South Valley, North Valley, Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, Corrales, Nob Hill, Uptown, Northeast Heights, Sandia Heights, Four Hills, Mesa del Sol, Paradise Hills, Ventana Ranch, Tijeras, Carnuel, Cedar Crest, Sandia Park, Edgewood, Rio Rancho, Bernalillo, Placitas, Isleta.

For a site elsewhere in the state, start from the New Mexico shower trailer page.

North Valley and Los Ranchos, New Mexico

North Valley and Los Ranchos

Small farms, horse properties and orchards sit on narrow lanes along the river here. Access is the planning problem, not space. We bring a shorter unit when a driveway will not take 35 feet of trailer and tongue.

South Valley and Barelas, New Mexico

South Valley and Barelas

This side mixes working farm ground with industrial yards and the Valle de Oro refuge. Field crews and yard crews both finish dirty. Most bookings here are combos, because a restroom in the same trailer saves a second delivery.

Westside and Paradise Hills, New Mexico

Westside and Paradise Hills

New construction keeps pushing up the mesa past Petroglyph National Monument. The ground is dry and the wind carries it. We set units with the entry turned away from the prevailing afternoon blow and mats down at the door.

Northeast Heights and the foothills, New Mexico

Northeast Heights and the foothills

The I-25 rebuild at Montgomery and Comanche runs through here into 2027, and the foothills trails bring race and event work. Lots are paved and tight. We schedule drops outside commute hours so a truck is never sitting in traffic.

East Mountains, New Mexico

East Mountains

Tijeras, Cedar Crest and Sandia Park sit higher and colder than the valley floor, with about 25,000 homes along the interface with the Sandia Ranger District. Freeze protection is standard on every booking up here. So is a plan for getting a service truck up a wet dirt road.

Mesa del Sol and the airport south side, New Mexico

Mesa del Sol and the airport south side

Studio campuses, the county sports complex and industrial pads share this ground. Sites are open and flat, which makes delivery easy and dust control the real job. Film base camps here also need a unit that stays quiet and out of frame.

Planned rentals are usually scheduled the same week, and we do our best to cover last-minute Albuquerque dates when a trailer is nearby.

Our take

Answers on renting portable shower trailers around Albuquerque

Private shower trailer set up near Bernalillo for harvest and ranch crews
Do you rent shower trailers by the month for a long Albuquerque job?

Yes, and most of our local work is exactly that. Monthly terms are normal on builds like the I-25 interchange work or a data center camp that runs for years. We write rolling monthly terms so you can extend when a schedule slips, which it usually does. On anything past a few months we look at a septic tie-in and a fixed service route, because that costs you less hassle than repeat pump visits.

Will you put more than one shower unit on the same camp?

Often, yes. A camp of 200 people in the valley usually ends up with two 8-Station units rather than one, so a single breakdown never takes the whole camp down. We can share one water source between units if the supply holds, and we meter each one separately. Adding a second trailer mid-job is routine here because we run the Los Lunas and Rio Rancho corridors every week.

Can you size the station count to our head count and shift change?

That is the first thing we ask about. What matters is not how many people you have, it is how many finish at once. A 200 person site on two staggered shifts needs fewer stations than a tournament that empties in an hour. Metered heads at 1.5 gallons a minute let a 200 gallon fresh tank and a recovering heater keep up with a real line. Give us your shift times and we will come back with a count and the reason for it.

Is the greywater pumped out or tied into septic on a long job?

Both options are on the table and we pick based on how long you are there. Short jobs run on the onboard waste tank, which holds 950 gallons on the 8-Station, and we pump on a set cadence. Jobs measured in months get tied into a septic system or a cleanout after we check the system can take the added shower load. Everything we haul is disposed of under the state liquid waste rule, and we keep the records.

Where does the cost of a shower trailer rental actually come from?

Distance, duration, station count and service frequency drive most of it. Water and waste handling is the next piece, so a site with a hose bib and a sewer cleanout is simpler than a pad with neither. Power matters too, since a generator adds fuel and service. ADA needs, difficult access and peak season timing around chile harvest or Balloon Fiesta week also move the number. Send us the site details and we will quote it straight.

What is the difference between a shower trailer and a shower, restroom and laundry combo?

A shower trailer is showers only, which is what you want when restrooms are already handled. The 2-Station Shower and Restroom Combo puts a toilet and a sink in the same private room as the shower, so one trailer covers both. The 4-Station Shower, Restroom and Laundry Combo adds a washer and dryer in a separate room and suits crews up to about 30. Anything over two weeks, we push people toward the laundry version.

When do we need a water hookup instead of the onboard tanks?

Only when the run is long and the crew is big. The onboard tanks carry a typical day for most sites, and we refill on our service visit. If you have a hose bib or a hydrant meter permit from the water utility, we will plumb into it and stop worrying about refills. Out past the last paved road we truck water in on a schedule, which is how we cover ranch ground and remote pads.

How often are the units cleaned and restocked on a long deployment?

Daily on most camps, and we set the window between shift changes so the showers are never closed when people need them. Our techs clean, restock soap and paper, check the water heater and handle the waste. On big deployments we can put an attendant on site during peak hours. The gel-coated fiberglass surfaces wipe down fast, which is why a unit on day 20 still looks right.

Can a mobile shower unit run through a freezing East Mountain winter?

Yes, with a plan. Every unit has heat and a smart thermostat, and we leave the heat on overnight instead of starting cold. Hoses and supply lines get managed every evening on sites above the valley floor, since January nights drop into the low 20s and spring nights are not much kinder. We walk your crew through the shutdown routine on delivery so the first shift is not waiting on a thawed line.

How fast can you get a shower trailer to a fire camp or a flood response?

Same day in most cases during the summer window, because we stage units in the metro before lightning season rather than waiting for the call. Small starts in the Manzanos and the Sandias do not give notice, and neither does a burn scar flood. We are SAM.gov registered, licensed and insured, so the agency paperwork is not what slows the delivery down. Call the dispatch line any hour.

Do you deliver to Los Lunas, Rio Rancho and the pueblos?

Yes, all three, and those runs are part of our weekly routing. Los Lunas and Belen get covered on the Valencia County route, Rio Rancho and Bernalillo on the north route. Deliveries onto pueblo land need coordination with the tribal government, and we handle that as part of scheduling. Tell us the access road and gate situation and we will match the trailer length to it.

How to plan shower trailers for Balloon Fiesta week in Albuquerque

The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta runs October 3 through 11 in 2026, its 54th year, with more than 500 balloons lifting off from Balloon Fiesta Park. Morning sessions run 4:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and evening sessions run 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with no evening session Monday through Wednesday or on the second Sunday. That schedule, not the crowd size, is what makes the week hard to plan for.

Start with the footprint. The park covers more than 360 acres, and the grassed launch field alone is over 80 acres, about 54 football fields, with 208 marked launch sites on it. Roughly 1,000 volunteers work the event, including the launch directors in black and white stripes that everybody calls Zebras. The event itself sets out hundreds of portable toilets for the public.

Power and water for a shower trailer on an Albuquerque job site

Two questions decide how a temporary shower trailer gets set up on a job site here. What power can you give it, and where is the water coming from. Everything else is detail. Answer those two early and the delivery is boring, which is what you want.

Power first. The 8-Station Private Shower Trailer draws power from one 50 amp 220 volt circuit. The smaller units, including the ADA plus 2 and the 2-Station combo, run on two 120 volt 20 amp circuits. If your temp power panel has a free 50 amp leg, that is the easiest path. What we push back on is sharing an already loaded panel, because a water heater cycling on while a saw station spins up is how you trip a breaker at shift change.

The waste and greywater questions to ask before you rent a shower trailer

Most people renting showers for the first time ask about hot water and stations. Almost nobody asks where the dirty water goes. That is the question that turns into a liability problem if the company you hired is casual about it.

In New Mexico, shower water has its own legal definition. The state liquid waste rule, 20.7.3 NMAC, covers on-site liquid waste systems receiving 5,000 gallons or less a day. It defines graywater as untreated wastewater that has not come into contact with toilet waste, and the definition specifically names showers and bathtubs. Washbasins and clothes washing machines are named as well. Separate sections of the same rule govern disposal of septage and holding tank waste.

Timing shower trailers around monsoon season and East Mountain fire camps

Two seasons drive emergency shower demand in this metro, and they overlap. Lightning starts come with the first dry thunderstorms in late spring and run through August. The monsoon follows, bringing the rain that puts those fires out and then floods the ground they burned. Planning around both is a yearly habit here, not a reaction.

Fire first. The 2026 season in the mountains east of town was a string of small lightning starts rather than one big event. The Sand Springs Fire was reported July 31 in the Manzano Mountain Wilderness and grew to about 30 acres, worked by a Forest Service Type 1 Hotshot crew with a drone module. The Whiskey Fire came in at 1:50 p.m. on August 21 in steep ground north of Osha Peak. Neither forced an evacuation.
