On-Site Shower Trailer Rentals for Sports Camps in Portland
The Lavatory is the go-to team for crew shower trailer rentals in Portland. We own our units, we stage them close, and we set one up ready to use the day it lands. That goes for a bridge job off I-5, a crew camp out in Rivergate, or a race finish at Waterfront Park. Call us now and we will hold your dates, or ask for a free quote and you will get a real delivery window instead of a maybe.

Portland’s go-to source for on-site shower trailer rentals
Go get a second quote. We mean it. Send it over and we will read it with you and tell you what it leaves out. Usually that is the hot water. Sometimes it is the service visits, or who actually holds the license to haul the waste away. We own over 250 units, the largest luxury trailer fleet in the Western U.S., and we are not a broker, so our number is never a guess about somebody else’s trailer. Thirty years in event and equipment rental, and eight years staging crew shower trailers in this market. Licensed and insured. Call us or request a free quote and we will tell you straight what your site needs from our Oregon shower trailer rental fleet.
We read the other quote with you
Send us the competing number and we will go through it line by line. Most of the time the gap is hot water recovery or how many service visits are really included. You get a straight answer either way, even when the answer is that their quote is fine.
Locking rooms, not curtains
A curtain across a shared bay is not privacy, and crews treat it that way. Every room we deliver is its own enclosure with a door, hot and cold controls, and gel-coated fiberglass that wipes down in minutes. People actually use it, which is the only measure that counts.
Hot water that survives the eighth person
Plenty of units heat water fine for the first four showers. Ours are built around metered heads and real tank volume, so the last person in line gets the same water as the first. On a 16 hour shift rotation that is not a comfort question.
We know which Portland sites a 35 ft rig can actually reach
There is a real difference between a Rivergate apron and a school yard gate off SE Powell. We walk the turn, check the gate width and pick the pad before the truck rolls, so nobody is backing a 35 ft rig into a corner at 6 a.m. That is the kind of thing you only learn by doing it here for years.
“We had an abatement phase with nowhere for the crew to clean up and a neighborhood that notices everything. The unit showed up clean, stayed clean, and the service truck never missed a morning. Nobody complained once, which on that job is high praise.”
“Two days of rain and my venue restrooms were already losing. They set two units where I asked and moved one when I changed my mind. Easy.”
“Mutual aid crews came in from three states at midnight and I needed hot water before the next shift. Their unit was heated and ready and the pump-out hit at four in the morning like they said it would.”
The hot-water shower trailers that get booked again and again
The companies that could rent anything still call us, because a bad shower at a base camp or a film set becomes the story of the whole job. The Lavatory has provided trailers for names like Google, Tesla, BMW, Mercedes, eBay, and Target, for hospitality at Caesars Palace, and for pro sports including the Golden State Warriors, Oakland A’s, and Las Vegas Raiders.

The reason those bookings repeat is simple. A hot shower at the end of a long day is the one thing a crew remembers about the camp. A fire agency near Portland once called on a Thursday because the unit another company promised for a weekend base camp fell through, and we had a fully stocked trailer set and heated with hours to spare. A production running a long shoot outside town needed showers that held up day after day for cast and crew, and the same trailer stayed spotless through the whole schedule because our team serviced it. That standard travels to every Portland booking, from a two-week jobsite to a festival campground. For a site about 145 miles north of Portland, see our page for Seattle.
Three decades in event and equipment rental, running the largest luxury trailer fleet in the Western U.S. Every unit ours, never a broker’s.
Portable shower trailers for Portland race weekends and mud runs
Around Portland we keep the 8-Station set up for the long jobs. That covers bridge and harbor work and fire camps. Waste capacity is what decides how often a truck has to come back. For a short street job in the Pearl or a tight lot on Swan Island, the 11 ft combo is usually the smarter call.

Hood to Coast is the one that taught us the most. It runs 196 miles and 36 legs from Timberline Lodge down to the beach at Seaside, with about 20,000 runners and walkers across the two events, and it went off August 28 and 29 in 2026. Teams of eight to twelve trade legs for a day and a half. Start times spread from 2 a.m. to 2 p.m. The three exchanges with roped-off sleeping fields are 18, 24 and 30, and those are the spots where a hot shower changes somebody’s night. Runners come in caked, sleep two hours in a van, then run again.
Downtown races are a different problem. Shamrock Run Fest brought more than 19,000 people to Tom McCall Waterfront Park on March 15, 2026, in its 47th year, starting at Naito Parkway and Pine. Mid-March here means cold rain, so getting people warm is half the job. The Portland Marathon finished at Naito and Salmon on October 4 with about 9,000 runners and four bridge crossings. Both events put us on city pavement under a street permit, which we handle rather than hand back to the race director.
What every shower unit comes with
Private rooms with a lockable door
Every shower is its own room with a door that locks, a bench and a hook, so a crew or a camp showers with real privacy instead of a curtain in a row.
Hot and cold water controls
A water heater and onboard tanks feed hot and cold controls in each room, with 1.5 GPM shower heads so the hot water lasts through a full shift of people.
Air conditioning and heat
Climate control in every trailer, so a shower in a July heat wave or a January storm response feels like the one at home.
One-piece gel-coated fiberglass
Walls, ceiling and floor are one molded fiberglass surface with no seams, which is why the rooms clean fast, stay clean and never smell like a locker room.
Runs with or without hookups
Fresh and waste tanks on board, a generator when the site has no power, and the option to tie into on-site septic on a long deployment.
Serviced, stocked and pumped
We deliver the trailer stocked and come back to pump, restock and clean on longer jobs, so day twelve looks like day one.
Then there is mud. Cyclocross Crusade ran the Coyote Run at Portland International Raceway on October 11 and the Heron Lakes round there on October 18, then finished at McMenamins Edgefield in Troutdale on Halloween. PIR sits on Columbia Slough flatland that holds water all fall, and Edgefield is a hotel on a slope with restrooms that were never sized for a race-day crowd. Mud Factor put a 5K course through Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm in Woodburn on June 28. Gorge Waterfalls staged 30K, 50K and 100K fields at Marine Park in Cascade Locks in April, about forty minutes east of town, where the nearest real shower is a long drive. Our drivers run the same power and water checks for mobile shower units in Tacoma, 120 miles north of Portland.
Crews and teams need this as much as the field does. The Grand Prix of Portland ran at PIR August 7 through 9, and a three-day race weekend means paddock staff, safety crews and vendors living on site from Thursday. We have learned to set the unit where the generator noise does not land on the timing trailer, and to pick a spot a service truck can reach at 5 a.m. without crossing the course. Small thing. It decides whether the rental works.
Full specifications for every unit are on the 8-Station spec page and its four sister pages, or call and we will spec it to your Portland head count.
Every configuration lives on the shower trailer service page. Here is how we match one to an Oregon site.
The multi-station shower trailers we stage for Portland, size by size
Five shower units cover everything from a single ADA-compliant room to a camp that showers two hundred people a day. Every one has hot water, private rooms and climate control. Tell us the head count, how long the job runs and what the site has for water and power, and we will size it.

8-Station Private Shower Trailer
Eight completely private shower rooms in a 29-foot box, built for crews, camps and relief sites of up to about 200 people a day. Hot and cold controls, 200-gallon fresh and 950-gallon waste tanks, an exterior four-sink hand wash bank under the roof line, and it can tie into on-site septic for long deployments. CAL FIRE approved for wildfire camp service, the spec incident teams ask for in every western state.

ADA + 2 Private Shower Trailer
Two standard private shower rooms plus one ADA room with a self-contained ramp, built to federal ADA requirements. The right unit when a site needs accessibility without giving up capacity, with 210 gallons of fresh water on board.

4-Station Shower, Restroom and Laundry Combo
Four private bathrooms, each with a toilet, sink, shower and power outlet, plus a washer and dryer in a separate room. A self-contained hygiene block for a crew of up to about 30 on a remote or long-term job. For a longer job in Portland, take a look at our notes on renting laundry trailers the right way.

2-Station Shower and Restroom Combo
Two private bathrooms with a toilet, sink and shower each, in a compact 11-foot box. The pick for a small crew, a ranch job or a production base that needs both functions in one footprint.

Single-Station ADA Shower and Restroom Combo
One fully accessible room: ADA china toilet with grab bars, roll-in shower with a seat and hand wand, ADA-height sink and vanity, and a ramp that deploys in minutes. It pairs with any other unit so every person on site is covered.
Bigger jobs run several trailers side by side, and long deployments get a service schedule instead of a one-time drop. If you are between sizes, we spec it to the head count rather than nudge you into more trailer than the job calls for.
For sites beyond this city, our Oregon shower trailer service area lists every region we deliver to.

From your call to a multi-station shower trailer running in Portland
Booking should be the easy part of running a site. Four steps, a straight answer, and one team that owns the whole thing.
Tell us about the site
Share the dates, a rough head count and where the trailer will sit. That is enough for us to point you to the right unit and count.
We match the trailer and the hookups
We confirm whether the site has water and power or needs a generator and a supply, and pin the exact spot so delivery is one clean trip.
Delivery and setup
We arrive on your schedule, level and set the trailer, connect it, heat the water and stock every room so it is ready before the first shift ends.
Use it, we handle service and pickup
The trailer holds up through the whole deployment while our line stays open. When you are done, we come back and take it away.
Hot-water shower trailer rentals for line crews working Portland outages

The January 2024 ice storm is the job everybody in this business measures against. It came in on January 12 with freezing rain and wind, dropped limbs across more than 816 PGE distribution lines, and knocked out power to 440,000 PGE customers that week. Pacific Power lost about 146,000 more. PGE had nearly 400 people in the field on the 13th, over 1,100 by the 14th, and roughly 1,623 crews and support staff by the following Tuesday as mutual aid rolled in from other Oregon utilities and from California, Idaho and Washington. Some neighborhoods went four days dark. Four.
Sixteen hundred people is a small town, and a lot of them arrive towing their own trucks from out of state with no hotel room waiting. Staging ends up in substation yards, fairground lots and park-and-rides. Power source, gravel, nothing else. A crew that has been on a bucket in freezing rain for sixteen hours needs to get warm and clean before they sleep, or the next shift is slower and less safe. Our units carry AC and heat with a smart thermostat, and they are winterized, which is the whole ballgame in an ice event. An unheated trailer is a burst line by morning.
Summer work is the mirror image. PGE is putting about seven miles of distribution line underground near Government Camp across the summers of 2026 and 2027 to cut wildfire risk, and the Oregon Public Utility Commission signed off on the utility’s 2026 through 2028 wildfire plan. Government Camp has a handful of lodges and no room for a contractor crew for two seasons. There is no water line at a trench at 4,000 feet. So that job runs on hauled water and a generator, and the 8-Station Private Shower Trailer is the unit we send because the 8-Station also brings the exterior four-sink hand wash bank for quick cleanups between hole shots.
Fire adds another layer. The Grasshopper Fire on the east side of Mount Hood reached 34,659 acres with more than 1,000 people assigned in early August 2026, and Clackamas County held the Mount Hood corridor from Rhododendron through Government Camp at Level 1. The Emergency Conflagration Act had already been invoked eleven times that year, which puts the State Fire Marshal in charge of moving task forces in from other states. Those camps stand up fast and move. We keep CAL FIRE approved units staged for exactly that call, and we answer the phone at 2 a.m.
Where private shower trailers can sit on a Portland site
If the unit sits in the public right-of-way, the City of Portland handles it through Temporary Street Use Permitting. That office issues the permits to reserve parking, close a travel lane, close a sidewalk or close a street, and the City Traffic Engineer has to sign off on any work in the right-of-way. The City also wants a certificate of liability insurance and an additional insured endorsement on file before it issues the permit, with commercial general liability at a million dollars per occurrence and two million aggregate on street closures. Vehicles have to carry the company name on both sides. Ours do, and our certificate is already on file, so a street job does not stall while paperwork catches up. Coverage around Portland extends to hot showers for crews in Eugene, about 105 miles south.
Waste is where a cheap quote usually falls apart. Oregon requires a license to pump, transport and dispose of the contents of any septic system, and the rule names graywater tanks and portable units directly. Septage can only go to a disposal facility the state has approved. Haulers have to carry origin and destination records for every service visit and produce them on request, and they have to hold a current septage management plan. So when you compare numbers, ask the other vendor who holds that license and where the water ends up. Graywater reuse and disposal sits under its own state rules on top of that. Coverage continues on our Salem page, about 45 miles southwest.
Two more sets of rules shape these jobs. Federal lead in construction standard 29 CFR 1926.62 calls for shower facilities where feasible when airborne exposure runs above the limit, plus clean change areas with separate storage so work clothing never touches street clothes, and on Portland’s bridge and retrofit work that is a live question every season. Oregon OSHA’s heat rule starts at a heat index of 80 degrees and tightens above 90, and the state’s wildfire smoke rule kicks in when fine particulate hits the level that puts the air quality index at 101. Public works jobs past the state cost threshold also carry prevailing wage and certified payroll, and two changes took effect in 2026 that widened who is on the hook. We carry SAM.gov registration and the documentation those jobs ask for, and the ADA + 2 Private Shower Trailer covers the accessible room most agency counts require.

Pad prep covered before the truck leaves
- ADA-compliant shower units with a ramp, roll-in shower, seat, hand wand, grab bars and an ADA-height sink.
- Guidance on where to place the trailer so it is easy to reach, easy to service and level.
- Water and power sorted before delivery, with a generator and a water supply staged when the site has neither.
- Licensed and insured on every unit we put on the road.
One thing we always say plainly: some sites, agencies and city permits have their own rules on placement, accessibility, greywater and temporary hygiene facilities. Tell us the site and we will help you plan around them, but confirm any permit requirements with the property or the agency as well.
Crew shower trailer rentals for Portland construction and industrial sites

This metro is in the middle of the biggest run of heavy civil work in its modern history. Phase 1A of the I-5 Rose Quarter project started in August 2025 and runs through fall 2026, with full completion not expected until 2029. Crews measured the old bracings on the I-5 bridges over NE Oregon St to spec new seismic braces, stripped lead paint, and set anchor bolts. Southbound I-5 between I-405 and I-84 went to a round-the-clock closure for up to five weeks starting September 11. Work like that leaves paint and grit on people who cannot carry it home to their kids.
North Portland broke ground on the Jefferson High School rebuild on May 29, 2026, funded by the 2020 and 2025 school bonds, with Cleveland and Ida B. Wells in design behind it. Down south, the I-205 Abernethy Bridge between Oregon City and West Linn is the largest highway job ODOT has run in more than 45 years and is still going. On the river, the Portland Harbor cleanup covers about ten miles of the Willamette from the Broadway Bridge to the Columbia, with roughly 3 million cubic yards of sediment to dredge and a construction phase expected to take 13 years. In-water work means crews come off contaminated ground in gear, and that is a decontamination sequence, not a nice-to-have.
Industrial work in Portland depends on shutdowns. Swan Island packs about 170 businesses onto 430 acres, Daimler Trucks and Vigor Industrial among them, and Rivergate spreads 2,800 acres and more than 14 million square feet of buildings next to Terminal 6. When a plant or a yard takes a two-week turnaround, headcount triples and the locker room that was built for normal staffing stops working by the second shift. Out in Hillsboro, the expansion at Intel’s Gordon Moore Park campus is adding thousands of construction jobs on a site with badge gates and strict protocols. We have set units on all of those kinds of sites, and our mobile shower trailer rental service plans the placement before the truck leaves.
What we have learned here is mostly about winter and mud. A gravel pad that drains in August turns to soup in December on 37 inches of annual rain, so we bring plate or mats instead of finding out. We ask about gate width early, because a 35 ft rig with the tongue does not turn in a school yard the way it turns in Rivergate. Measure the gate. And we put the unit away from the lunch trailer and downwind, every time.
More Portland work our portable shower trailer rentals cover
Three jobs make up most of what we deliver in this metro. Races and mud runs that end with a few thousand filthy people and no plumbing. Construction and industrial camps that run for months. And line crews who have been out in freezing rain since before dawn. Each one asks something different from the trailer, and we plan each one differently.

Film and TV base camps
Oregon pays a cash rebate on production spending with in-state vendors, which is a real reason to rent here rather than truck units up from out of town. We set base camp units on closed streets and gravel lots, and we place the generator where sound can live with it. Wet work and Gorge location days are the ones that get booked first.

Festival camping
Pickathon puts four days of campers on 80 acres at Pendarvis Farm in Happy Valley, with tent, RV and glamping areas and a zero-waste policy. Metered 1.5 GPM heads and a closed waste tank fit that kind of site, because nothing soaks into a field. We coordinate pump-outs around the music schedule.

Hygiene services for outreach crews
Portland’s standing programs run on two-stall volunteer trailers doing 15 to 20 showers a day. Eight private locking rooms is a different order of magnitude for a program director, and the exterior hand wash bank on the 8-Station Private Shower Trailer lets people wash up without burning a shower slot. We service daily and restock towels and soap.

Agency and military field ops
We are SAM.gov registered, insured, and used to certified paperwork on public jobs. Guard and agency exercises around the metro and the Gorge get self-contained units that do not need a host facility. Accessible rooms are in the count from the start, not promised later.

Sports camps and athletics
Summer camps and tournament weekends fill fields from Beaverton to Gresham with athletes who have nowhere to rinse off. A small combo with private bathrooms handles a single field, and we scale up when a tournament takes over a complex. Everything locks, which matters with kids on site.

Glamping and remote hospitality
Ranch and forest sites east of the metro book guests into canvas tents with no plumbing within a mile. A deluxe unit with private locking rooms reads as an amenity rather than a compromise, and it runs on hauled water. We set the pad away from the guest tents so service visits are not part of anybody’s morning.
What ties these together is that a hot shower changes how a long day ends. Because our units sit staged across the region instead of a couple of states away, getting a shower trailer to a Portland site, even on a short-notice call, is an ordinary ask here, not a scramble.
The service behind every one of our mobile shower units in Portland

We handle the whole thing, not just the drop-off. Our team delivers the trailer, levels and sets it, connects water and power or stages a generator and a water supply, fires the heater and stocks every room before the first person needs it. When the job wraps, we come back and haul it away.
On longer or higher-traffic bookings in Portland, we pump and restock on a schedule, and an on-site attendant is available for camps and productions where the trailer runs all day. That always-clean standard is the difference between a shower people use once and one they are glad to use every night of the job.
What one shift without a private shower trailer costs productions

Think about what a Portland deployment actually costs to run. Wages, lodging, fuel, the schedule pressure, the people you are asking to work long days away from home. Then picture the end of that shift with nowhere to get clean. A shower is the one thing every person on site uses, and it is the detail they quietly judge the whole camp by.
A private shower trailer protects everything else you are spending. Crews sleep better and stay on the job, a production keeps cast and crew comfortable through a long schedule, and a relief site gives people back a piece of normal. Set against the cost of the deployment, it is a small line item that carries a lot of the morale, which is why the managers who have run a camp without one book the trailer first the next time.
What three recent jobs with crew shower trailers near Portland looked like

Project manager, seismic retrofit crew on an inner bridge deck
Paint abatement pushed the crew into full gear on a deck with no plumbing anywhere near it. We set a multi-station unit on a permitted lane closure two blocks off, ran it on a 50 A feed from the contractor’s panel, and split the change area so dirty gear never touched street clothes. The crew showered at shift end for the rest of the phase and the abatement sub stopped losing an hour a day to a drive.
Safety lead, mutual aid staging after a January freeze
Out-of-state crews landed in a gravel park-and-ride at 11 p.m. with nothing but a generator and a light tower. We had a heated unit on the pad before the second wave arrived and held a pump-out at 4 a.m. so the morning shift walked into full tanks. The lead told us the shower line was the quietest part of that week.
Race director, fall cyclocross round on soaked flatland
Two inches of rain the night before turned the course into mud and the venue restrooms were never built for it. We put a combo unit with private bathrooms at the team parking end and a second one near the officials’ tent, and we timed service for the gap between the masters and the elite fields. Riders loaded their bikes clean, which is not how that day usually ends.
Portland districts we keep mobile shower trailers close to

We deliver across the whole metro, from the Columbia up to the Mount Hood corridor and out to the coast range foothills, and our service area covers every state for long-term and emergency work. Units are staged close enough that a same-week delivery is normal and an emergency call is not a miracle. Tell us the cross streets and we will tell you what fits.
We cover Portland shower trailer rentals across Oregon. Towns and job corridors we serve include St. Johns, Kenton, Overlook, Swan Island, Northwest Industrial, Guild’s Lake, Pearl District, Old Town, South Waterfront, Lloyd District, Hollywood, Montavilla, Lents, Hazelwood, Sellwood, Parkrose, Gresham, Troutdale, Fairview, Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tigard, Tualatin, Lake Oswego.
Jobs outside town are covered too; the Oregon shower trailer coverage map shows every corridor.

St. Johns and the Rivergate district
Port terminals, two Class I railroads and bulk cargo make this the easiest industrial delivery in the metro. Aprons are wide, power is usually close, and a service truck can get in at any hour. Turnaround and longshore work here books multi-unit orders more often than single trailers.

Swan Island
About 170 businesses sit on 430 acres, with shipyard and heavy manufacturing among them. Shutdown work here spikes headcount fast and the internal streets are tight with parked equipment. We pick the pad in advance so the unit is not blocking a crane path on day two.

Guild’s Lake and Northwest Industrial
The city has protected this as an industrial sanctuary since 2001, after decades of chemical, petroleum and metals work. That history means remediation jobs, which means decontamination showers rather than convenience showers. Streets are narrow under the hill and rail crossings shape the route in.

Lloyd District and the Rose Quarter
Seismic retrofit work on the interstate runs alongside Moda Center and convention center event load. Almost everything here happens on a street permit in a night window. We stage where a lane closure already exists rather than asking for a second one.

Columbia Corridor and the PDX area
Warehousing, airfreight and terminal build-out work fill long gravel lots with no plumbing and plenty of room. Placement is simple out here and water hauling is easy on the main routes. Long-term holds are common, so septic tie-in is worth pricing out.

Clackamas County and the Mount Hood corridor
From Milwaukie and Oregon City up through Sandy to Government Camp, the placements get steeper, farther and rougher. Line work and fire camps up here run fully off-grid on hauled water. We send heated, self-contained units and plan fuel with the site.
Planned rentals are usually scheduled the same week, and we do our best to cover last-minute Portland dates when a trailer is nearby.
What customers across the Portland area say about our hot-water shower trailers
“Our locker room was built for normal staffing, not for a turnaround. Four private bathrooms with laundry in the next room solved a problem I had been patching with a gym membership list. The washer alone was worth it.”
“They pulled the street permit, which I had budgeted two weeks of my own time for. Insurance was already on file with the city. That part alone moved my schedule.”
“We had been running 15 to 20 showers a day out of a two-stall trailer for years. Eight private rooms changed what we could offer on a single morning, and the exterior hand wash bank on the 8-Station Private Shower Trailer let people clean up without waiting in the shower line. Our volunteers stopped triaging.”
“No water line, no power, four thousand feet up. They hauled water and ran it off a generator without me having to think about it. Crews got clean every night of that assignment.”
“Base camp was a closed street with sound rolling a block away. They placed the generator where my mixer could live with it and nobody on set ever mentioned it again.”
“Demolition phase on an old building with neighbors fifty feet away. The unit was quiet, it locked, and it looked like something we were proud to have on the lot. Our board got zero calls about it.”
What work crews ask about self-contained shower units

Can we keep a private shower trailer on a Portland job site for several months?
Yes, and long holds are most of what we do here. Multi-year projects like the harbor cleanup and the bridge retrofits run in phases, so we write terms that match a phase instead of a calendar month. On a long job we usually look at tying the unit into septic, which takes the pump truck off your weekly schedule. Service stays on the same daily or every-other-day cadence the whole time.
Is a mobile shower unit going to work through a Portland ice storm or an August heat wave?
That is what these are built for. Every unit has AC and heat with a smart thermostat, and we winterize before the first freeze rather than after a line splits, which matters in a region where freezing rain does more damage than snow. The January 2024 storm put over 1,600 restoration people in the field and our units ran through it. In heat, the same AC is why crews use the trailer instead of skipping a shower.
Where does the ADA ramp need to sit on a Portland site?
The ramp on the ADA + 2 is built into the unit, so you are not sourcing one or building one. It needs a reasonably level landing at the bottom and a clear path back to the work area, which is the part people forget on a gravel lot. We walk that approach at delivery and plate it if the ground is soft. On city pavement we set the ramp away from the travel lane and inside the permitted closure.
What permits do we need to park a shower trailer on a Portland street?
A Temporary Street Use permit from the city, which covers reserving parking, closing a lane, closing a sidewalk or closing a street. The City Traffic Engineer has to approve work in the right-of-way, and the city wants a liability certificate and an additional insured endorsement on file first. We hold that certificate and we pull the permit as part of the job. If your site is private property, none of this applies and we just need the gate code.
When should we add a second or third shower trailer to a Portland camp?
Watch the line at shift change, not the headcount on paper. One 8-Station moves about 200 people a day, but if 80 of them come off the gate in the same twenty minutes you will feel short. Shift stagger is the cheapest fix, and a second unit is the next one. We can add mid-job, and on camps that grow past two weeks we usually bring in the laundry combo at the same time.
How long does the hot water last in an 8-Station Private Shower Trailer?
Long enough that the eighth person gets what the first one got, which is the real question. The heads are metered at 1.5 GPM, so the 200 gallon fresh tank goes further than most people assume, and the 950 gallon waste tank is usually what sets the service window. On a dry site the limiter is water deliveries per day, not recovery time. Tell us the shift pattern and we will give you the honest number for your camp.
Do your shower trailers meet CAL FIRE and agency requirements for fire camps?
The 8-Station Private Shower Trailer is CAL FIRE approved, and we are SAM.gov registered for agency and federal work. Oregon fire camps stand up fast, often after the Governor invokes the Emergency Conflagration Act and the State Fire Marshal pulls task forces in from other states. We keep units staged for that call and we answer the phone overnight. Documentation and certified paperwork come with the delivery, not after it.
Will a Portland site need a generator, or can we plug the trailer in?
Depends on the unit. The 8-Station wants one 50 A 220 V circuit, which most jobsite panels can feed. The ADA + 2 and the smaller combos run on two 120 V 20 A circuits, so a normal temporary panel handles them. Out on the Mount Hood corridor or a trench site with no service, we run on a generator and plan the fuel cycle with you before delivery.
Does a lead paint job on a Portland bridge need shower facilities?
The federal lead in construction standard calls for showers where feasible when airborne exposure is above the limit, along with clean change areas that keep work clothing separate from street clothes. Feasible usually comes down to whether anyone can actually get a unit to the site, and on a downtown deck that is a placement and permit question more than a plumbing one. We have set units on permitted lane closures for exactly that reason. Talk to your industrial hygienist, then call us with the site constraints.
How fast can you get a unit to a fire camp near Mount Hood?
Fast, because we stage for it. We run 24/7 emergency dispatch and we own the fleet, so nobody is calling a broker to find out whether a trailer exists. The 2026 season had the Conflagration Act invoked eleven times and the Grasshopper Fire alone had more than 1,000 people assigned, so we plan summer staging around that reality. Call and we will give you a real window for your staging area.
Where does the waste water go after you service a trailer in Portland?
To a disposal facility the state has approved, under a licensed hauler, with origin and destination records carried on every trip. Oregon requires that license to pump, transport or dispose of the contents of a septic or graywater tank, and the hauler has to hold a current septage management plan. We handle that end so you are not hiring it separately or hoping somebody else did. If a competing quote does not say who hauls and where, that is the line to ask about.
Temporary shower trailer planning guides for Portland jobs

We run restroom, laundry and specialty trailers out of the same yard, so if your Portland site needs more than showers, it comes on one order.
How to size a shower trailer order for a Portland crew camp
Most sizing mistakes on a Portland camp come from starting with the wrong number. People start with total headcount. The number that matters is how many people hit the trailer in the same thirty minutes, and that is a shift question, not a roster question.
Start by writing down your shift pattern. A 60 person crew on two overlapping shifts behaves like a 30 person crew at the shower. A 60 person crew that all clocks out at the same gate at the same time behaves like 60. On a 24 hour restoration with three rotations, peak demand can be a third of the roster even though the site badge count looks huge. Once you have the peak number, the unit choice gets simple. Write it down.
What to ask before you sign a shower trailer rental in Portland
Two quotes for the same Portland job can look twenty percent apart and be describing completely different products. We offer to read the other quote with customers because most of the gap is not margin. It is scope that was left out.
Ask what a room actually is. A curtain hung across a shared bay gets called a shower station on plenty of quotes. It is not private, and crews treat it like it is not private, which means they stop using it by the second week. Ask whether each position is its own enclosure with a door, and ask what the walls are made of, because gel-coated fiberglass wipes down in minutes and a job with 30 days left on it needs that.
Booking shower trailers around Portland’s winter storm season
Winter here is not a snow problem. It is a freezing rain problem, and the difference decides whether your rental works in January. Portland averages about four inches of snow a year and nearly 37 inches of rain, and the damage comes from ice loading on trees and lines.
The January 2024 event is the one to plan against. Freezing rain and wind starting on the 12th brought down limbs across more than 816 distribution lines, cut power to 440,000 customers of one utility and about 146,000 of another, and left some neighborhoods dark into a fourth day. Restoration scaled from fewer than 400 field personnel to roughly 1,623 crews and support staff inside a week, with mutual aid arriving from California, Idaho and Washington.
What changes the cost of a shower trailer rental around Portland
We will not put numbers on a web page, because an honest number needs your site. But we can tell you exactly which details move a quote up or down, so you can compare two bids without guessing.
Distance from the nearest staged unit comes first. A delivery into the Columbia Corridor and a delivery up to Government Camp are not the same trip, and neither are the service runs that follow for the length of the rental. Ask how the service visits get routed. That is the recurring cost, not the drop-off.
