Why The Lavatory

Why choose The Lavatory for portable laundry trailer rentals in Colorado

laundry trailer set up for a crew in Colorado

The Lavatory puts a full commercial laundry on your Colorado site in one delivery. The 8-Station runs eight washers and eight dryers under one roof, with a large basin sink, a folding table and LED lighting, so eight loads wash and eight more dry at the same time, all day, without anyone leaving the site. A smaller group that also needs bathrooms can take the 4-Station Combo, with four private baths, hot showers and a separate laundry room in one footprint.

Clean clothes get hard fast once people live on a site for more than a few days. In much of Colorado the closest coin laundry is an hour away, too small for a crew, or closed by the time the shift ends. A laundry trailer parked right on the site fixes that.

You work with one company for the whole job. The Lavatory quotes it, sizes it, delivers it, levels it, hooks it up, services the tanks and hauls it away when the work is done. Call for a free quote and a straight answer on which unit fits.

Our trailers, our people

Every mobile laundry unit on a Colorado site belongs to our own fleet, and our own team sets it. One phone number carries the job from the quote to the last pickup. Your order never gets handed to a stranger with a truck.

Built for heavy loads

These are commercial machines made for hard use day after day, from soot and mud to drilling dirt and wet winter gear. A long job on a busy site does not wear them down the way it would a pair of home machines.

Clear answers at the quote

You get a plain answer on unit size, power, water and service visits before anything is booked. If a site is too tight or too steep for a trailer, you hear it on the first call, not on delivery day.

Want the full specs before you call? Look over the 8-Station commercial laundry trailer for Colorado job sites and the 4-Station restroom, shower and laundry combo for long stays in Colorado, each with dimensions, tank sizes and power needs.

Large companies book our laundry trailers again and again for long jobs. The Lavatory has provided trailers for names like Google, Tesla, BMW, Mercedes, eBay, and Target, for hospitality at Caesars Palace, and for pro sports including the Golden State Warriors, Oakland A’s, and Las Vegas Raiders.

Statewide coverage

Where our mobile laundry trailers work across Colorado, region by region

We serve the entire state. Send us the address, the head count and how long the unit stays, and we will match the trailer and the delivery plan to the place.

Denver and the Front Range

Denver, Aurora, Lakewood, Arvada, Westminster, Thornton, Boulder, Longmont and Colorado Springs hold most of the state's people and most of its large construction. Long builds such as the National Western Center and the airport's capital program keep crews on site for months, and an 8-Station at the laydown yard saves them the evening laundromat run. Denver gets about 60 inches of snow a year, so shelters and warming centers often add a laundry unit in the yard for the winter.

Northern Colorado and the DJ Basin

Fort Collins, Loveland and Greeley anchor the north, and Weld County sits over the DJ Basin oil and gas field. Drilling and pipeline crews rotate in for long stretches and come off shift in dirty work clothes. Sites out east are mostly open farm ground, so placement is simple, and we set the water and pumping schedule around the distance between stops.

Pueblo and Southern Colorado

Pueblo, Cañon City and Trinidad make up the south. Maintenance outages at the Pueblo steel mill and road and utility work along I-25 and US-50 bring extra crews for a few hard weeks. An 8-Station near crew parking handles their work clothes on site instead of across town.

The Western Slope and the resort towns

Grand Junction, Glenwood Springs, Durango, Vail, Aspen, Breckenridge, Steamboat Springs and Telluride sit on or past the Continental Divide. Resort housing is tight, so seasonal staff often live in shared quarters with too few machines, and a combo unit at the staff house covers baths and laundry at once. This is also wildfire country, and steep passes on I-70 and US-50 mean we confirm the route before the truck leaves.

The San Luis Valley

Alamosa and Monte Vista sit in a high, wide valley at roughly 7,500 feet, with long drives between towns and few public laundromats. Potato harvest crews, road projects and fire season support bring commercial laundry trailers here, and the flat valley floor makes placement easy.

The fleet

Self-contained laundry units for rent anywhere in the state

Two units cover nearly every laundry request we get in Colorado. The 8-Station is the main unit for big camps, industrial crews and relief sites. The 4-Station Combo is the pick when a smaller group living on site needs bathrooms, hot showers and a washer and dryer in one trailer. Either one can sit on the same site plan as our restroom and shower trailers.

The 8-Station Laundry Trailer, available for rent across Colorado

8-Station Laundry Trailer

Eight industrial washers and eight dryers running a full wash and dry cycle, plus a large basin sink, a folding table, LED lighting and two HVAC units. The box measures 8 feet 5 inches by 21 feet, and the unit runs 26 feet 4 inches long with the tongue and 12 feet 4 inches wide with stairs. It holds 750 gallons of waste and needs two 50 amp, 240 volt circuits within 100 feet, or a generator plan we arrange.

4-Station Restroom, Shower and Laundry Combo

Four private baths, each with a toilet, sink, shower and outlet, and a separate laundry room with a stacked washer and dryer. It is sized for long-stay groups and crews up to about 30 people. The combo runs 26 feet 4 inches long with the tongue, 12 feet 4 inches wide with stairs and 11 feet 4 inches tall with its AC. It carries 105 gallons of fresh water and 750 gallons of waste, with 1.5 GPM metered shower heads on hot and cold water and one AC unit on a smart thermostat. Power is one 220 volt, 50 amp circuit or two 110 volt, 20 amp circuits within 100 feet.

Not sure which one fits? Tell us how many people live on site, for how long and what they are washing. We will size it honestly, and if the site also needs restrooms or showers, those come from the same fleet on the same delivery plan.

Sizing guide

How to size a temporary laundry setup for a Colorado site

laundry trailer sized for a Colorado job site

Every Colorado quote starts with a handful of numbers: head count, length of stay, how dirty the work is, the elevation and what the site has for power and water. These are the working figures behind our advice.

Small groups, up to about 30 people

The 4-Station Combo gives a small team four private baths with showers and a stacked washer and dryer. It suits a survey party on a remote Western Slope lease or a ranch crew living on site through a summer.

Large camps and big crews

For a big camp, figure loads per person per week, then add more for soot, drilling mud or gear that has to be washed after every shift. We work that number out with you and add a second 8-Station when one cannot keep up.

The rush after a shift ends

Nobody does laundry at noon on a drilling pad or a fire line. The machines sit quiet most of the day, then everyone shows up within the same hour. Plan for that rush, not for the daily total. A camp that rotates two shifts spreads the load well; a camp where all hands quit at dusk may need more machines than the weekly math suggests.

Short jobs versus long jobs

A ten-day storm cleanup and a nine-month pipeline job call for different service plans. A short rental may need only a couple of pump visits. A long rental gets a standing weekly schedule that we revise whenever the crew size changes or the work moves.

Power at elevation

The 8-Station needs two 240 volt, 50 amp circuits close to where it parks. Many mountain sites have no grid power, and a generator loses about 3.5 percent of its output for every 1,000 feet of climb. At 9,000 feet that adds up to nearly a third of its rated output, so we size the generator for the real altitude, not the sea-level rating.

Water and waste

The 8-Station holds 750 gallons of waste. The 4-Station Combo carries 105 gallons of fresh water on board and also holds 750 gallons of waste. Where a water line and a sewer hookup are on site, we connect to them. Where they are not, we bring water and pump waste on a set schedule, and the tank size plus your head count set how often we come.

Space, ground and access

Both units need firm, fairly level ground and a clear route for the truck to back in. Keep the spot out of low ground that holds snowmelt, and leave room on the door side for the stairs and for people carrying full baskets.

Winter gear and wet loads

Snow pants, insulated coats and soaked boot liners take far longer to dry than summer work shirts. A winter camp needs more dryer time per person than the same camp in July, so we count the season into the load math.

Laundry plus showers and restrooms

People who need clean clothes almost always need hot showers and clean restrooms too. We pair the laundry unit with shower and restroom trailers from the same fleet, on one site plan and one service schedule.

Where they work

Top industries we serve with mobile laundry trailers in Colorado

Laundry trailers serve people who live on a site for days, weeks or months. These are the uses we see most across Colorado, each with its own sizing, placement and service plan. For the sleeper trailers side of the job, see The Lavatory’s Colorado on-site workforce housing trailer rental service.

Wildfire camps and disaster recovery

Record-low snowpack in 2026 left Colorado's forests dry, and the Aspen Acres Fire burned 102,004 acres. Fire camps run long rotations, and firefighters come off the line with soot in every layer. Contracted shower and laundry units let each shift start in clean clothes. After a fire, flood or major storm, displaced families need the same help while homes and laundromats are without water or power. Our paperwork for agency orders is already on file, so an incident team can order without starting from scratch.

Oil, gas and pipeline work

Drilling, completion and pipeline crews in the DJ Basin work long rotations and wear flame-resistant work clothes that need washing every day. A portable laundry trailer at the yard or the crew housing saves a long evening drive into Greeley or Fort Morgan, and it keeps dirty gear out of trucks and rooms.

Large construction and infrastructure

Stadium, airport and campus builds in Denver, water projects in Greeley and steel work in Pueblo keep large crews on site for months. When contractors house workers near the job, a commercial laundry trailer at the camp or the laydown yard is a simple fix for a daily headache. It also helps with hiring, since a camp with clean laundry on site is an easier place to live for a long job.

Utility, highway and mountain pass crews

Line crews, tunnel and bridge work and summer paving along I-70, US-285 and US-50 often stage in small mountain towns where motel rooms have no machines and the nearest laundromat closes early. A unit at the equipment yard lets those crews wash road grime and wet gear at the end of a shift instead of losing a day off to a drive down the canyon.

Hail and storm restoration

Colorado ranks second only to Texas in hail claims, and the Front Range sits in Hail Alley. After a big storm, roofing and restoration companies bring in out-of-state crews who live in rented lots and extended-stay setups for weeks. A temporary laundry unit at their staging yard keeps everyone in clean work clothes.

Resort staff housing and seasonal camps

Resort towns in the mountains house seasonal staff in shared housing that often lacks enough machines. Summer camps, outfitters and trail crews face the same gap. A self-contained laundry unit sized to the head count covers the whole season, and the combo adds bathrooms and showers where the housing is short on those too.

Shelters, warming centers and outreach

Long, cold winters push shelters and warming centers to add capacity, and outreach programs use a mobile laundry unit for a set season or a contract period. Clean clothes help with health, job interviews and simple dignity, and a unit on site reaches people who cannot get to a laundromat.

Film and TV wardrobe on location

Productions that shoot in the mountains or on the plains often sit hours from a studio lot. Wardrobe teams wash costumes between shoot days, and extra washers and dryers at base camp take pressure off a wardrobe trailer packed with racks and tables.

Agriculture and ranch work

Harvest in the San Luis Valley and on the eastern plains brings seasonal crews to housing far from town. A laundry unit at the housing site gives workers a place to wash after a long day in the field, and it saves the grower a weekly van run to the nearest laundromat.

Share your site, crew size and dates. Call (720) 500-6612 or request a quote, and we will size the unit to your site.

Season plan

Colorado winter, wildfire and flood plan for portable laundry units

laundry trailer ready for the season in Colorado

Winter shapes almost every Colorado site plan. Denver sees more than 100 freeze-thaw cycles in a typical year, and the high country stays cold much longer. Tanks, hoses and water lines get a cold weather plan that we build with you at the quote, matched to the site and the forecast. Before delivery we also look at how the truck will reach the spot and where plowed snow will pile up. Mountain passes such as Vail Pass and Wolf Creek Pass can close in a storm, so we build slack into the delivery plan.

Wildfire season comes next. A low-snow winter tends to mean a long, dry fire season across the mountains and the Western Slope. Smart fire season planning starts before the first camp goes up. Agencies and contractors that line up laundry early have one less thing to chase when a fire breaks out.

Spring and summer bring flash floods in canyons and burn scars. We avoid low ground and drainage paths when we place a unit, and we check in after a big storm. If a fire, flood or storm affects your site, we will call you, secure or move the unit as needed and put it back to work once the roads are safe.

Elevation runs through every season. High sites see a bigger swing between day and night temperatures and shorter work windows in the fall, so we set delivery and pickup dates with daylight and weather in mind.

How it works

Booking a mobile laundry trailer, step by step

laundry trailer delivered and set up in Colorado

1. Tell us the job details

Give us the address, the start date, the head count and how long you need the unit. Most quotes go out the same day.

2. We match the unit to your site

We match the unit to your numbers and look at ground, slope, snow, gate width, elevation, power and water. A few photos of the spot help a lot, especially on a mountain site.

3. We deliver and set it up

Our team delivers, levels the trailer, connects power, water and waste where available, starts the climate system and walks your site lead through the machines before leaving.

4. Ongoing service, then removal

On long rentals we pump waste and bring water on a set schedule and change it as the head count grows or shrinks. When the job wraps up we pull the unit and leave the ground clean.

Before delivery day

Permits, sanitation rules and placement for laundry units in Colorado

laundry trailer placed on a level pad in Colorado

A laundry unit on private property for a private job usually needs no permit of its own, though the owner, the city or the county may set conditions. Public land is different. On national forest land in Colorado, a group of 75 or more people generally needs a special use permit from the local ranger district, and the laundry unit goes into that plan. In Denver, temporary setups on public property go through the city's special events office, which asks for site plans well ahead of the date. We supply unit dimensions and power needs for any application you file.

Workplace safety in Colorado falls under federal OSHA. On construction sites, the sanitation rule 29 CFR 1926.51 covers washing facilities along with toilets and drinking water, and many contractors add a laundry unit to the same sanitation plan when crews live near the work.

Washer wastewater never goes on the ground. The 8-Station carries a 750 gallon waste tank, the combo carries its own 750 gallon tank, and waste leaves the site through licensed hauling and permitted disposal. On sites with a sewer connection we hook up where the owner allows. Recreation areas in Colorado also follow the state's sanitation rule for those sites, 6 CCR 1010-9, and your county health department has the final word on local disposal.

Landowners have their own say. A ranch, a church, a school district or a shopping center that hosts the unit will usually want a short written agreement that names the spot, the hours people may use it and who covers any power or water drawn from their building. Getting that signed before the delivery date keeps setup day simple.

Fire camps and incident sites follow the incident's own layout, and we park the unit where the camp plan puts it. Ask the incident's logistics section where the laundry belongs before the truck arrives, since camps often set a wash area apart from sleeping and food tents.

For the source material, see the federal construction sanitation rule 29 CFR 1926.51, the national forest special use permit program and the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control.

Questions

Questions about renting a laundry trailer in Colorado

Can you set a laundry unit on a mountain site at 9,000 feet?

Yes. Tell us the elevation when you call, because it changes the generator size and the date window. On a high site we also confirm the road will be plowed and the last turn is wide enough before the truck goes up.

How big a crew can one 8-Station handle?

That comes down to loads per person per week and how dirty the work is. A drilling crew washing work clothes every day needs more capacity than a staff camp washing twice a week. Tell us the head count and the type of work, and we will size it, adding a second unit if needed.

Is there a unit with both showers and laundry?

Yes. The 4-Station Combo has four private baths, each with a toilet, sink and shower, and a separate laundry room with a stacked washer and dryer. It fits groups up to about 30 people.

What about water on a remote site with no hookups?

We bring fresh water by truck on a schedule matched to your head count. Where a water line exists, we connect to it instead, which cuts down on service visits.

Will the unit work through a Colorado winter?

Yes. Placement does a lot of the work: we keep the unit out of drifts, away from roof lines that shed snow and close enough to a plowed path that the service truck can reach the tanks all season.

Do you support wildfire camps?

Yes. Fire camps and incident bases are core work for our laundry units. Call with the incident location and the head count, and our dispatch team will tell you which unit is free and how soon it can head toward the camp.

How early should we reserve a unit?

For planned work, as soon as your dates are set. Fire season and summer construction fill first, and rates follow demand, so an early booking in a slower stretch gets the best rate. For emergencies we keep a reserve of large units ready at a moment's notice, though no single unit is ever guaranteed, so the sooner you call the better.

How quickly can a unit reach our site?

Planned jobs get a firm delivery date in the quote. For an urgent order, give us the address, the elevation and the head count on the first call, and you will hear right away which unit is free and when it can leave the yard.

Do we need a permit, and who gets it?

Rules change from one city, county and land agency to the next. We work through placement, utilities and the site plan with you and give you the dimensions and power specs for any application.

Can we keep the unit for a long project?

Yes. Many contractors keep one for the life of the project. We set the pumping and water schedule, change it as the crew grows or shrinks and swap units if the job changes.

Does the 8-Station have anything besides washers and dryers?

Yes. It has a large basin sink for pre-rinsing muddy or sooty gear, a folding table for sorting and folding, and bright LED lighting for night shifts. The trailer also carries two propane tanks on the tongue.

Can you place a unit in a paved parking lot?

Yes, as long as the lot is close to level and the truck has a straight line to back in. Before we pick the spot we look for overhead wires, low tree limbs, curbs and parking blocks, and we keep the unit clear of fire lanes and drive aisles.

What if our camp has to move partway through the job?

Call with the new location and the date. We drain and pump the tanks, tow the trailer to the new spot and set it up again, which happens often on pipeline jobs and fire camps that follow the work.

How do big crews avoid long lines at the machines?

Many site leads post a simple wash schedule by team or by bunkhouse, so each group gets its own window. Pairing that schedule with the right number of machines keeps the wait short even on the busiest night.

Can shelters and warming centers rent one?

Yes. Shelters, warming centers and outreach programs rent units for a winter season or a contract period. We plan the spot, the power and the service around your site and your hours.

Can a film or TV production rent a laundry unit in Colorado?

Yes. Wardrobe departments use our units at base camp for long location runs. We place the unit near the wardrobe trailer and set service visits around the call sheet so they never land in the middle of a scene.

Can we pair laundry with restroom and shower trailers?

Yes, and that is how most camps set it up. We lay out the laundry, shower and restroom trailers on one site plan so the power runs, the water and the service truck route all work together.

How should we prepare the site before the unit arrives?

A clear path for the truck, the spot marked, and someone on site who can show our team where power and water are. In winter, have the spot plowed and the path sanded if you can.

Do you rent laundry units outside Colorado?

Yes, by arrangement. We serve all 50 states, especially for emergency, disaster and long-term rentals. Call with the address and dates, or see our nationwide laundry trailer page.
