The Lavatory: Boulder’s go-to source for temporary bathroom rentals
Get another quote first if you like. Then send it to us, and we will go through it line by line for free and tell you what is missing. We see the same games every season in Boulder County. A low number that leaves out delivery, setup and pickup. A “luxury” unit that turns out to be a plastic stall with a sink bolted on. A three-day festival quoted with no restocking, so the paper runs out on day two. A broker who never owns the trailer and hands your date to whoever is free. Every quote we write spells out which unit you get and when it arrives, along with how often we service it and where the power comes from. We own every trailer we send, we run the largest luxury restroom trailer fleet in the Western U.S. with over 250 units and 30+ years in event and equipment rental, and we carry an A+ BBB rating and 5-star Google reviews. Call now for same-day delivery, or request a free quote and we will match the right unit within the hour.
Ready for altitude and wild weather
Heat, air conditioning and protected plumbing come standard. A frosty October morning or a 95 degree July day does not shut the unit down.
Fast when plans change
Units are staged across the Front Range, so we can often be there within 1 to 2 hours. Our dispatch line answers 24/7.
A quote you can read
Delivery, setup, service visits and pickup are written into the quote. No surprise line items after the event.
We plan for Boulder ground
Irrigated lawns, sloped meadows and gravel drives are normal here. We bring leveling blocks and plywood, keep the unit off soft turf and never park under a cottonwood limb.

“Our house party in Boulder outgrew the two bathrooms we have, so we rented a trailer from The Lavatory. Booking took one short call, a heads-up text told us when the truck would arrive, and every question got a quick, kind answer. Easy to recommend for a party of any size.”

“The Lavatory has covered extra bathrooms for us at a handful of events now, and the trailers arrive spotless every single time. Replies come fast and nothing gets missed. Our wedding near Longmont used one too, and guests kept telling us it was the nicest restroom they had seen outdoors.”

“When our son married his sweetheart in our North Boulder yard, we parked a luxury bathroom trailer by the garden gate. Clean, bright and truly upscale, it put every plastic toilet I have used to shame. A perfect score from our whole family.”
Companies that have booked our portable restroom trailers
The companies that could rent anything still call us for restrooms, because a cheap plastic unit at a launch party or a shareholder event ruins everything the day is meant to say. The Lavatory has provided luxury restrooms for names like Google, Tesla, BMW, Mercedes, eBay, and Target, for hospitality at Caesars Palace, and for pro sports including the Golden State Warriors, Oakland A’s, and Las Vegas Raiders.

The reason those bookings repeat is simple. A luxury restroom is the one vendor a guest uses and remembers, for better or worse, so the trailer has to be stocked, clean and working from the first guest to the last. That is how we run every unit in the fleet, and it is the same standard behind every Boulder booking, from a backyard engagement party to a festival gate.
Three decades in event and equipment rental, running the largest luxury restroom trailer fleet in the Western U.S. Every unit ours, never a broker’s.
Private restroom trailer rentals for Boulder graduations, fundraisers and community days
For most Boulder weddings, grad parties and school fundraisers between 150 and 450 guests, the 5-Station is the trailer we send. A race finish area or a stadium-size crowd gets one or more 9-Stations, and a backyard party under 100 guests is a great fit for the 2-Station.

May is graduation month here, and most of the big ceremonies land on the same two or three weekends. CU Boulder holds its university commencement at Folsom Field, and in 2026 that was Saturday, May 2, at 8:30 in the morning. The stadium has its own restrooms. The trouble starts after, when every college and department holds its own recognition ceremony across campus, and families head off to lunches, lawn tents and backyard parties in Table Mesa, Martin Acres and Gunbarrel.
High school season follows right behind. In 2026 Arapahoe Ridge High School graduated outdoors at Christian Recht Field on Arapahoe Avenue, while Boulder High used the CU Events Center. Outdoor ceremonies on a field are where a temporary restroom trailer earns its keep, because the nearest school building is often locked or far away. Grandparents do not want to walk a quarter mile to a locker room, and a line of plastic stalls in the sun is not how anyone wants to remember the day.
Fundraisers and community days are the other half of this work. School carnivals, church festivals, charity golf days and nonprofit galas often land on a lawn or a course where the clubhouse restrooms are far away or too small. City park rules list the restrooms at each event park, and some list none at all. Central Park at the Civic Area has zero permanent restrooms, so any event there brings its own.
Our approach is simple: we look at the peak crowd, not the total, because a graduation crowd hits the restrooms all at once right after the last name is read. We park on pavement or plywood near the action and run power from an approved outlet or a fenced generator. If you are also planning events closer to the city, our deluxe bathroom trailer rentals in Denver, CO come from the same crew and the same fleet.
Standard on every restroom suite we send
Flushing china toilets
Real porcelain toilets with a foot flush, the same fixtures your guests use at home, not a chemical tank.
Running-water sinks
Stainless steel sinks with real running water, hand soap, and towels, fed by onboard water tanks so you are covered even without a hookup.
Climate control
Air conditioning for a summer afternoon and heat for a cold evening, so the trailer stays comfortable no matter the season.
Framed mirrors and lighting
Oversized framed vanity mirrors, warm interior lighting, and finished flooring that reads like a venue restroom, not a jobsite.
Fully stocked, always fresh
Premium toilet paper, towels, soap, and fragrance, restocked and pumped so the unit stays fresh from the first guest to the last.
Power and water handled
Onboard water tanks plus a generator when your site has no hookup, so the trailer runs anywhere from a vineyard to an open field.
Full specifications for every unit are on the 5-Station spec page and its four sister pages, or call and we will spec it to your Boulder guest count.

Picking between our upscale restroom trailers for a Boulder booking
Five sizes cover everything from a single ADA-compliant suite to a festival crowd. Every one has flushing china toilets, running water and climate control. Tell us your guest count and how long the event runs, and we will size it.

2-Station Restroom Trailer
One women’s suite and one men’s suite for up to about 150 guests, in a compact box that fits into a driveway or garden path. 105 gallons of fresh water, a 300-gallon waste tank and a single 20A/120V circuit make it the pick for backyard weddings and engagement parties.

3-Station Restroom Trailer
Two women’s suites and one men’s suite for up to about 225 guests, sized for the everyday mid-size gathering, from a milestone birthday to a company off-site. 200 gallons of fresh water, a 400-gallon waste tank, one 20A/120V circuit.

5-Station Restroom Trailer
Women’s side with 3 stalls and 2 sinks, men’s side with 1 stall, 1 urinal and 1 sink, built for 150 to 450 guests so a full reception never waits. 200 gallons of fresh water, a 520-gallon waste tank, one 20A/120V circuit within 100 feet.

9-Station Restroom Trailer
Women’s side with 5 stalls and 2 sinks, men’s side with 2 stalls, 2 urinals and 1 sink, sized for 400 to 900 guests so hundreds of people can move through the line at once. Two AC units, two 20A/120V circuits, a 750-gallon waste tank.

ADA + 2 Restroom Trailer
One women’s suite, one men’s suite and one ADA unisex suite with a self-contained ramp, built to federal ADA requirements. Sized for events up to about 200 guests or job sites up to about 30 crew, with 210 gallons of fresh water on board.
An 8-Station Private Stall Deluxe and an ADA + 6 configuration are also in the fleet for big productions and larger guest counts. If you are between sizes, we spec it to your guest count rather than nudge you into more trailer than the day calls for.
For events beyond this city, our Colorado restroom trailer service area lists every region we deliver to.
How far ahead to book portable restroom trailers in Boulder
Booking should be the easy part of planning an event. Four steps, a straight answer, and one team that owns the whole thing.
Tell us about the event
Share your date, your rough guest count, and the venue. That is enough for us to point you to the right size trailer.
We match the trailer and site
We pair you with a unit, confirm whether the site has water and power or needs a generator, and pin the exact spot so delivery is one clean trip.
Delivery and setup
We arrive on your schedule, level and set the trailer, connect it, and stock it so it is ready and fresh before the first guest.
Enjoy it, we handle pickup
The trailer holds up through your whole event while our line stays open. When you are done, we come back and take it away.
Setup and pickup of mobile restroom trailers in Boulder

We handle the whole thing, not just the drop-off. Our team delivers the trailer, levels and sets it, connects water and power or stages a generator, and stocks it before your first guest arrives. When the event wraps, we come back and haul it away. You never touch the logistics. That part is on us.
For longer or higher-traffic bookings in Boulder, we offer an on-site attendant who keeps the trailer stocked and spotless through the event, and we pump and refresh the unit so it holds up from the first guest to the last. That always-fresh standard is the difference between a restroom guests use once and one they are glad to use all night.
Spending on portable restroom trailers in Boulder: what it covers

Think about what a Boulder event actually costs to put on. The venue, the catering, the flowers, the photographer, the hours of planning. Then picture a guest walking out of a hot plastic box in the middle of all of it. Nobody plans for that. The restroom is the one vendor every single guest uses, often more than once, and it is the detail they quietly judge the whole event by.
A luxury restroom trailer protects everything else you spent on. It reads like an extension of the venue, holds up through a full day of guests, and gives people one less thing to remember for the wrong reason. Set against the total cost of the day, it is a small line item that quietly carries a lot of the impression, which is exactly why the hosts who have been burned once book the trailer first the next time.
More Boulder jobs for our portable restroom trailer rentals
Three kinds of Boulder County jobs come up again and again for our VIP restroom trailer rentals. Each has its own crowd, ground and timing, so we plan each one a little differently.

Pearl Street Mall festivals
Arts Fest in July, the Tulip Fairy Festival in April and holiday markets in November all draw big crowds to a four-block mall with few public restrooms. A trailer at the edge of a block keeps the lines short.

Boulder County Fair week in Longmont
The fair fills the Longmont fairgrounds for five days in early August, and the rodeo nights draw the biggest crowds of the week. VIP areas and staff lots need clean restrooms until the gates close late in the evening.

Restaurant and office remodels
When a kitchen or office restroom is torn out for weeks, a 2-Station or 3-Station by the back door keeps the doors open for staff and guests.

Main breaks and power shutoffs
A water main break or a wind-driven power shutoff can close restrooms across a block. Our units carry their own water and can run on a generator, so you stay open.

Film shoots and photo days
Crews shooting near Chautauqua or out on open space need a clean base for cast and staff. We park on the approved lot and keep it stocked all day.

Job site executive restrooms
Owner and architect teams on long campus and housing projects want a real bathroom near the site office. A 2-Station fits beside a job trailer.
What ties these together is the guest experience. Nobody remembers a restroom that worked, but everybody remembers one that did not. Because our units sit staged across the region instead of a couple counties away, getting a luxury trailer to a Boulder date, even a last-minute one, is an ordinary ask here, not a scramble.
Luxury bathroom trailer rentals for Boulder County weddings at farms, ranches and backyards

Boulder County wedding venues are some of the prettiest in the state, and many of them were never built for 150 guests. Lone Hawk Farm near Longmont sits on 120 acres with a barn that seats about 150. Planet Bluegrass in Lyons hosts weddings of up to about 250 along the St. Vrain River. The Colorado Chautauqua offers lawn ceremonies under the Flatirons with receptions in the Dining Hall or the Community House.
Private land is just as popular. Families host receptions on ranch property up Lefthand Canyon, on acreage near Niwot and in big backyards in North Boulder and Mapleton Hill. A home septic system is not made for a long reception with an open bar. One trailer takes that load off the house and keeps guests out of the hallway.
Wedding season here runs from May into October. Afternoon storms roll off the foothills in July and August, hail is common, and an early snow in late September is not rare. Our units have heat and air built in, so the bathroom stays comfortable whatever the sky does. We set the doors away from the wind and keep lighted steps level for guests in heels.
For most receptions of 150 to 450 guests, the 5-Station is the right call. Smaller backyard weddings fit a 2-Station, and upscale receptions often book the 8-Station Private Stall Deluxe. Want to see every option side by side? Browse the full lineup of luxury restroom trailers and send us your guest count. We will walk the drive with you before the big day if the site is tricky.
Permits, ground and access for restroom trailers in Boulder
A private wedding or party on your own land usually needs no city permit for the restroom. Public events are different. The City of Boulder Office of Special Events takes applications up to 364 days ahead, and the handbook says a suitable number of restrooms and hand-washing stations must be provided. The city guide points to about one toilet per 100 people at peak, with at least 10 percent accessible and never fewer than one.
Placement matters too. City guidance asks for restrooms on hard surfaces like concrete, asphalt or plywood. Water and power at a park need written approval first. A generator has to be fenced off from the public and kept at least 10 feet from anything that burns. Our trailers carry their own water and can run on a generator we arrange, which keeps the permit simple.
We size every job to those rules and add margin for an open bar or a long event. Job site work follows OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51 for crew sanitation, and our ADA + 2 meets federal ADA guidance for an accessible room and ramp. Planning events in other parts of the state? We book luxury restroom trailers throughout the Colorado Front Range with the same team.

Ramps, suites and pad prep on the site
- ADA-accessible units with a self-contained ramp, wide door, grab bars, and turning room.
- Guidance on where to place the trailer so it is easy to reach and easy to service.
- Water and power sorted before delivery, with a generator staged when the site has no hookup.
- Licensed and insured on every unit we put on the road.
One thing we always say plainly: some venues and city permits have their own rules on placement, accessibility, and event restrooms. Tell us your venue and we will help you plan around them, but confirm any permit requirements with the venue or the city as well.

Event restroom trailer rentals for Boulder races, tournaments and stadium overflow

Boulder is a race town, and the biggest races bring tens of thousands of people into a few city blocks. The Bolder Boulder 10K has drawn about 54,000 people on Memorial Day and finishes inside Folsom Field. IRONMAN 70.3 Boulder started at the Boulder Reservoir at 6:30 a.m. on June 13, 2026. Boulderthon fills downtown in late September with more than 17,000 runners and a finish on Pearl Street.
Rows of plastic toilets handle the general crowd at a start line. The places that need a real restroom are the athlete village and the VIP and sponsor tents. Race officials and the medical crew need one too, and so do families waiting at the finish. Those guests stay for hours. A trailer with sinks, light and heat is what they remember.
A 6:30 start means the trailer is placed, leveled, powered and stocked the evening before. We plan that drop around road closures and detours, then keep a crew member on call through the race. Youth tournaments at Stazio Ballfields and East Boulder Community Park follow the same plan on a smaller scale, often with an ADA + 2 near the fields.
Stadium overflow works the same way. On a home game day at Folsom Field or a big night at the CU Events Center, tailgate lots and hospitality tents fill up fast. Running events farther north too? Our crews also stage portable showers in Fort Collins for race teams and staff who need to clean up after a long day.
How restroom trailer rentals fit a typical Boulder schedule

Typical setup: an outdoor high school graduation on a field
When a school graduates on a turf field, we place an ADA + 2 and a 5-Station on the nearest paved lot the afternoon before. We run power from an approved outlet, stock both units for the full crowd and keep a crew member on call until the families head home.
Typical setup: a farm wedding north of town
When a couple books a farm meadow near Longmont or Lyons, we walk the drive first, then set a 5-Station on firm, level ground near the reception tent. We bring a quiet generator if the barn has no spare circuit, and we come back for the unit after the last guest leaves.
Typical setup: a sunrise race at the reservoir
When a race starts at dawn, we drop the trailers the evening before, level them, fill the water and leave the lights on a timer. A crew member checks paper and soap mid-race, then we pull out once the finish area clears.

Planning an event beyond the city line? See our full restroom trailer coverage across Colorado.
Mapleton Hill and Whittier
Older homes, narrow streets and mature trees. We check branch height and street parking before we back in for a garden party.
Table Mesa and Martin Acres
Grad parties and block parties on tight lots. A 2-Station fits on most driveways with the steps facing the yard.
Gunbarrel
Business parks and newer homes with room to spare. Company picnics and summer parties here often book a 3-Station or a 5-Station.
Chautauqua and South Boulder
Lawn ceremonies and gatherings at the base of the Flatirons. Placement is limited, so we plan the drop with the venue well ahead.
NoBo and Boulder Junction
Art walks, brewery parties and new apartment events. Paved lots make for quick setups and fast pickups.
Niwot
Acreage weddings and horse property parties. Long gravel drives mean we confirm the turnaround before the delivery day.
Most Boulder rentals can be delivered the same day, and our dispatch line answers 24/7 for last-minute and emergency dates.
What customers say about our VIP restroom trailers

“About sixty of our relatives pitched tents behind the house outside Boulder for seven days, and the restroom and shower trailers kept everyone fresh. My mistake put the pickup on the wrong day, so the crew arrived early. Instead of hauling it off, the driver phoned his office, got us one extra night and wished us a great last day. We are so grateful.”

“Our unit rolled in exactly when promised, spotless inside and out. The driver had a great attitude and took time to explain power, steps and lights before he left. Anyone planning an event in Boulder County should give The Lavatory a call.”

“For a backyard concert at our Boulder home we brought in one of their luxury bathroom units, and people were stunned that something on the lawn could feel so fancy. The service made the whole night feel special. Highly recommended for any celebration.”

“Courteous crews, clear answers and restroom trailers that arrive set up and spotless. Each unit is well kept and smells fresh when the doors open. Reliable people like this are hard to find, so I stick with them.”

“At a big outdoor event in Boulder we had the ADA restroom trailer on site, and it impressed me. Its ramp felt sturdy, the room inside was wide and spotless, and guests using wheelchairs got in and out with no trouble. Dependable from setup to pickup.”

“Stunning units. Guests at our event kept stopping me to say how lovely the bathrooms looked. Friendly service from the first call, and we will absolutely book this trailer company for our next gathering.”
Answers on renting luxury restroom trailers around Boulder

Is one trailer enough for a Bolder Boulder watch party or a finish-line tent, or do we need several?
It depends on the peak crowd and how long people stay, so we start with those two numbers. One 9-Station handles about 400 to 900 guests over a five-hour event. A VIP tent of 300 usually needs one 5-Station. For bigger areas we line up two or three trailers together with an ADA + 2 at the end, so lines stay short and the whole bank shares one service plan.
Where do you put an ADA restroom trailer at a Boulder park or school field?
On the closest flat, hard surface to the event, with a clear path to the ramp. The ADA + 2 has a self-contained ramp and a roomy accessible room for one guest at a time. City guidance asks for at least 10 percent accessible units and never fewer than one. We check the route from the seats to the ramp before we drop the trailer.
What size trailer do I need for 200 wedding guests in Boulder County?
For 200 guests over about five hours, a 5-Station is usually the right size. It covers about 150 to 450 guests. If the bar stays open late or the reception runs past six hours, we may suggest a 9-Station or a second unit. Under 100 guests, a 2-Station or 3-Station is plenty.
When it is 95 degrees in July or freezing in October, does the trailer still work?
Yes, because every unit has air conditioning and heat built in, and the plumbing sits inside the heated body where the cold cannot reach it. For cold-weather events we keep the heat on overnight so the water lines stay safe. In summer we run the AC before guests arrive, so the rooms are cool when the doors open.
How does restocking and cleaning work during a long event or a festival weekend?
We stock every trailer with paper, soap and towels before it leaves our yard, so it is ready the moment the doors open. For events longer than a day, we schedule service visits to pump, clean and restock, often early in the morning before crowds return. An attendant can stay on site for big weddings and VIP areas if you want one. Just ask when you book.
Do your trailers really feel different from a porta potty?
They are very different, because a porta potty is just a plastic box sitting over a holding tank. Our trailers have flushing china toilets, sinks with running water, mirrors, lighting, heat and air conditioning, and separate rooms for women and men. Guests walk up a set of steps into something that feels like a nice restaurant restroom.
Will a temporary restroom trailer fit on my sloped lawn or gravel drive in the foothills?
Usually, yes, as long as we have a fairly level spot, firm ground and a clear path for the truck to back in and turn around. On a slope we use leveling blocks, and on soft lawn we lay plywood under the wheels. Send us a photo of the spot and the road in, and we will tell you before the delivery day.
Can the trailer run without a water hookup at a farm or park?
Yes, since every unit carries its own fresh water tank and its own waste tank on board. A 5-Station holds 200 gallons of fresh water and 520 gallons of waste, which covers most one-day events. For longer events we refill and pump on a set schedule, so you never need a hose or a sewer line.
Do I need a generator for an event at the Boulder Reservoir or a city park?
You only need one if there is no approved outlet close to where the trailer will sit. Most trailers need one standard 20 amp circuit, and the 9-Station needs two. City rules say a generator must be fenced off from the public and kept at least 10 feet from anything that burns. We arrange a quiet generator and place it to meet those rules.
How fast can you deliver during a main break or power shutoff in Boulder?
We can often be there within 1 to 2 hours, and our dispatch line runs 24/7. Restaurants, offices, churches and homes call us when a main break or a wind shutoff closes their restrooms. Because our trailers carry their own water and can run on a generator, you can stay open while the city works on the problem.
How far ahead should I book for May graduation weekend or Memorial Day?
Book as early as you can, because graduation weekends, Memorial Day and peak wedding Saturdays from June to September book up first. Even so, call us if you are late. We keep units staged across the Front Range and can often handle same-day delivery when another plan falls through.
Boulder planning guides for luxury restroom trailer rentals

How to read a restroom rental quote in Boulder before you sign
Start with what the quote actually includes, line by line, before you look at the total. Look for delivery, setup, pickup, stocking and the number of service visits. If any of those are missing, ask in writing, because they are the lines that get added later. Check the unit name too. A real luxury unit lists its station count, its fresh and waste tank sizes and its power needs. A quote that only says “luxury unit” may be a plastic stall with a sink. Ask who owns the trailer. A broker will often quote low and then pass your date to whoever has a unit free that weekend.
Next, check the plan for the hard parts of a Boulder site. Who brings power if there is no outlet near the lawn? Who levels the trailer on a sloped meadow? What happens if a storm moves the event inside for an hour? A good quote answers those questions before you ask. Send any quote you have to us, and we will mark up what is missing for free. You do not have to book with us to get that help.
Planning restrooms for a public event in Boulder: a step-by-step checklist
Begin with the permit timeline, because it sets the pace for everything else on your list. The City of Boulder Office of Special Events accepts applications up to 364 days ahead, and a liquor permit needs at least 60 days. Count your peak crowd, not your total, and plan about one toilet per 100 people at peak, with at least 10 percent accessible. Then mark the restroom spot on your site plan, on pavement or plywood, with a clear path from the main crowd and a separate path for the service truck.
Then sort out water and power. Park water and outlets need written approval, so a self-contained trailer saves a step. If you need a generator, plan a fenced spot at least 10 feet from tents and hay bales. Finally, set the service plan: when we stock, when we pump on a multi-day event, and who on your team calls our dispatch line if something runs low.
Temporary bathroom trailers for long remodels and job sites in Boulder County
A long remodel is where a temporary restroom trailer pays off quietly, even though nobody at the event ever thinks about it. When a restaurant or an office loses its restrooms for weeks during a remodel, staff and guests still need a place to go. A 2-Station or 3-Station by the back door keeps the business open. On new construction, owner and architect teams want a real bathroom near the site office, not a plastic stall at the edge of the dirt.
For crews, federal rules set the floor. OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51 covers how many toilets a job site needs by crew size. Our ADA + 2 handles job sites up to about 30 crew members. We set a weekly service day that fits your schedule, swap units if your crew grows and keep the heat on through the winter months so pipes never freeze.
What to do when a main break or power shutoff closes your restrooms
Outages happen in Boulder more than people expect. In August 2026 a main break near South and Graham streets left customers without water and put part of the city under a boil advisory. In December 2025, Xcel Energy cut power to parts of the city during a Red Flag wind event, and restoring it could take a few days. Restrooms close fast when either happens, and a business without working restrooms usually has to close its doors.
Call us first and give us the street address, the number of people on site and whether you have power. Our trailers bring their own water, so a main break does not stop them. If the power is out too, we bring a generator. We can often be there within 1 to 2 hours, and we stay until the water and power are back. Keep our number with your emergency plan so the call takes a minute, not an hour.
Choosing between a 2-Station, 5-Station and private stall trailer for your Boulder event
Match the trailer to the size of the crowd and the length of the event before you look at anything else. The 2-Station has one room for women and one for men and fits backyard parties and small weddings. The 3-Station adds a second women’s room. The 5-Station covers about 150 to 450 guests, and up to about 500 for a five-hour event. The 9-Station handles about 400 to 900 guests and needs two 20 amp circuits.
Style matters for some events. The 8-Station Private Stall Deluxe gives each guest a private, lockable room, which fits black tie receptions and corporate dinners. Need an accessible room? Add an ADA + 2 or pick the ADA + 6. If you are unsure, tell us the guest count, the hours and whether there is a bar, and we will recommend the right mix.
