Why choose The Lavatory

Reno’s go-to source for private restroom trailer rentals

Nobody drives home from a reception talking about the linens or the chair covers. They do talk about the restroom, good or bad, because it is the one thing every single guest uses. The Lavatory builds its whole service around that fact, and we are the largest luxury restroom trailer fleet in the Western U.S., with over 250 units we own outright, so the trailer on your lawn is ours and never a broker’s rental. We are licensed and insured, SAM.gov registered for public work, A+ BBB rated, and backed by more than 30 years in event and equipment rental. Call us with your date or request a quote, and we will tell you which unit keeps your guests comfortable from the first toast to the last song.

Our trailers, our crews

We own every unit in the fleet and never hand your order to another company. The people who deliver it are the same people who answer when you call.

A quote that lists everything

Delivery, setup, stocking, service visits and pickup are written into the quote. You will not get a surprise bill for a pump visit after the party.

A real bathroom inside

Flushing toilets, running water sinks, mirrors and locking doors give guests the feel of a nice home bathroom. Guests never have to hold their breath or hurry out.

Routes planned around the road work

Lane shifts on US 395 in the North Valleys and heavy traffic on I-80 change week to week. We check current closures before every delivery so your trailer arrives when we said it would.

“We used The Lavatory for a company event in Reno, and it went smoothly from delivery to pickup. The crew showed up on time and knew exactly where the trailer should sit. Inside it was spotless and felt like a hotel bathroom, and several guests asked who we rented it from. I would book them for any event where the details count.”

“Our first rental company fell through right before our special event, and The Lavatory stepped in and saved us. The trailer they brought was beautiful and very clean, and it fit our Reno backyard perfectly. We are truly grateful for the help.”

What holds up

Proof from the production teams who have booked our bathroom trailers

The companies that could rent anything still call us for restrooms, because a cheap plastic unit at a launch party or a shareholder event ruins everything the day is meant to say. The Lavatory has provided luxury restrooms for names like Google, Tesla, BMW, Mercedes, eBay, and Target, for hospitality at Caesars Palace, and for pro sports including the Golden State Warriors, Oakland A’s, and Las Vegas Raiders.

The reason those bookings repeat is simple. A luxury restroom is the one vendor a guest uses and remembers, for better or worse, so the trailer has to be stocked, clean and working from the first guest to the last. That is how we run every unit in the fleet, and it is the same standard behind every Reno booking, from a backyard engagement party to a festival gate.

Three decades in event and equipment rental, running the largest luxury restroom trailer fleet in the Western U.S. Every unit ours, never a broker’s.

Inside the trailer

Executive restroom trailers for data center and highway crews around Reno

For a Reno wedding of 150 to 250 guests, the 5-Station is the unit we plan around most, since it needs just one standard 20 A 120 V circuit within 100 feet. From November through March we set its heat before the first guest walks up the steps.

A Lavatory 2-Station restroom trailer parked on the paver drive of a large home, with a SUV beside it

The biggest build in Northern Nevada right now sits east of Sparks along I-80 at the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center in Storey County. At 107,000 acres, it is often called the largest industrial park in the country. Several data center campuses are going up there at once, and a 2 million square foot campus broke ground along USA Parkway in 2026. Peak crews on those projects are expected to reach 1,000 to 1,500 trades workers.

Portable toilets usually cover the trade crews on sites like these, while our trailers go where the project managers, owner’s reps and inspectors spend their day. A general contractor with a field office complex that will stand for two years wants a real bathroom with running water and heat beside the conference trailer. A plastic unit that freezes in January does not fit that picture. A 2-Station or 3-Station at the end of the office row does, and it tells a visiting client the site is run well.

Road and housing work adds to the list, since the US 395 North Valleys Phase 2 project started construction on July 13, 2026, from Golden Valley Road north to Stead Boulevard. Inside city limits, the Reno Housing Authority is building 199 apartments on the former Hawk View site, and the city council approved a master plan for the 712 unit Clear Acres Commons. Field offices on jobs like these need a clean executive restroom for months, so we set service visits on a fixed weekday and keep the tanks well short of full.

Long jobs out here often need more than toilets, because crews working 10 hour shifts in summer dust or winter wind want a place to clean up before the drive home. Our Reno shower trailer rentals can sit next to the restroom unit on the same service route, so one call covers both. Send us your crew size, shift length and office layout, and we will send back a plan the same day.

What you find inside the restroom trailer

Flushing china toilets

Real porcelain toilets with a foot flush, the same fixtures your guests use at home, not a chemical tank.

Running-water sinks

Stainless steel sinks with real running water, hand soap, and towels, fed by onboard water tanks so you are covered even without a hookup.

Climate control

Air conditioning for a summer afternoon and heat for a cold evening, so the trailer stays comfortable no matter the season.

Framed mirrors and lighting

Oversized framed vanity mirrors, warm interior lighting, and finished flooring that reads like a venue restroom, not a jobsite.

Fully stocked, always fresh

Premium toilet paper, towels, soap, and fragrance, restocked and pumped so the unit stays fresh from the first guest to the last.

Power and water handled

Onboard water tanks plus a generator when your site has no hookup, so the trailer runs anywhere from a vineyard to an open field.

Full specifications for every unit are on the 5-Station spec page and its four sister pages, or call and we will spec it to your Reno guest count.

Every configuration lives on the luxury restroom trailer service page. Here is how we match one to a Nevada event.

An 8-Station Private Stall Deluxe and an ADA + 6 configuration are also in the fleet for big productions and larger guest counts. If you are between sizes, we spec it to your guest count rather than nudge you into more trailer than the day calls for.

For events beyond this city, our Nevada restroom trailer service area lists every region we deliver to.

Private restroom trailers for film, TV and commercial crews on location

A Lavatory restroom trailer parked on open graded dirt at a high desert job site, with low mountains in the distance

Nevada’s state film office, Film Nevada, has promoted the state since 1982 and names Reno as one of its two main production centers, along with Las Vegas. The office runs the state film tax incentive, helps with permits and connects productions with local crews. That brings shoots of every size to the area, and many of them work outdoors far from any building with plumbing.

Location work around Reno can mean a desert road east of Sparks at dawn or a quiet street downtown after midnight. Base camp has to move whenever the company moves, and our mobile 2-Station and 3-Station units tow easily and set up fast, so a crew can shift base camp between locations without losing half a day to logistics.

A private restroom trailer with a locking door, a big mirror and good light also works as a quick touch-up spot between takes. On larger shoots we often place a 5-Station for the crew and a separate 2-Station near talent holding, so the two groups never share a line. Clients visiting set get a clean place to go that does not involve a plastic door.

Production schedules change by the hour, so we keep our side simple. Give us the location address, the call time and the expected wrap, and we will set delivery before the trucks roll in and pickup after the last company move. On multi-day shoots we service the unit before crew call so the pump truck never lands in a take. When a location has no power, we bring a quiet generator and park it well away from the sound department.

Luxury bathroom trailer rentals for ranch, arboretum and backyard weddings

A Lavatory 2-Station bathroom trailer on a gravel lot with pine trees and a clear blue sky behind it

Many Reno wedding venues are gardens and lawns first and buildings second. The Wilbur D. May Arboretum inside Rancho San Rafael Park holds up to 200 guests among its gardens and ponds. The Elm Estate sits along the Truckee River near I-80, with an event center listed for up to 300. Tannenbaum Event Center in the foothills handles about 200, and past those, a long list of ranches, barns and mountain properties within an hour of Lake Tahoe host weddings all summer.

At a lot of these places, the ceremony lawn sits a long walk from the nearest restroom. That restroom was built for a small office or a gift shop, not 200 guests after an open bar. A luxury trailer placed near the reception tent fixes both the walk and the line. We look at your site plan first and put the doors where guests can see them from the dance floor, with the service side facing away.

Backyard weddings are their own kind of job, because homes in Caughlin Ranch and Somersett often sit on slopes with tight drives and narrow gates, and the only flat spot is usually the one the caterer wants. We ask for photos of the drive, the gate width and the spot you have in mind before we book the truck. A 2-Station fits most driveways, while for 150 guests or more, a 5-Station on a leveled pad keeps guests out of the house and off your carpet.

On the wedding day, our crew delivers the day before or early that morning, levels the trailer, fills the fresh tank and stocks paper, soap and towels. We show your planner the light switches and the thermostat before we leave. After the last guest leaves, we pick up on the schedule you choose, often the next morning, so nobody backs a truck across a dark lawn. Couples who plan wine country weddings will find our Santa Rosa wedding restroom trailers handled the same way.

More event restroom trailer rentals on the Reno and Sparks calendar

Most calls from the Truckee Meadows fall into three groups: big construction jobs out past Sparks and in the North Valleys, weddings on ranches and in backyards, and film or commercial crews shooting on location. Each one has a different clock and its own site problems. Tell us which one you are planning, and we will tell you which unit fits and where it should sit.

Hot August Nights hospitality lots

Hot August Nights marks its 40th year from July 31 to August 9, 2026, with about 6,000 registered classic cars across Reno and Sparks. Sponsor tents and private car club lots use a VIP restroom trailer, often a 3-Station, so members skip the public lines.

Balloon Race mornings at Rancho San Rafael

The Great Reno Balloon Race grew to four days in 2026, with launches that start before sunrise. Hospitality groups want lights and heat on at five in the morning, so we set both the night before.

Reno Rodeo week on Wells Avenue

The Reno Rodeo fills the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center for ten days each June. Sponsor suites, private barbecues and ranch parties that week are a good fit for a 2-Station or a 5-Station.

Artown stages and river concerts

Artown packs July with hundreds of events across the city, and the Reno River Festival moved to Idlewild Park in 2026 while Wingfield Park is closed for bridge work. Donor areas and backstage spaces at events like these call for a clean, lockable room close by.

The 5-Station Restroom Trailer, available for Reno-area events

Remodels in Midtown and Old Southwest

When a restaurant or office shuts its restrooms for a rebuild, a compact unit by the back door keeps the business open. Older homes use the same setup during a full bathroom remodel.

What ties these together is the guest experience. Nobody remembers a restroom that worked, but everybody remembers one that did not. Because our units sit staged across the region instead of a couple counties away, getting a luxury trailer to a Reno date, even a last-minute one, is an ordinary ask here, not a scramble.

When to call

Placement and access rules for luxury bathroom trailers on Reno events

On private property for a private event, a trailer usually needs no city permit. Public property is different, and the City of Reno asks for a special event permit application at least 90 days before the event, and its Special Event Review Committee reviews each one. The city also wants a certificate of insurance naming the City of Reno 30 days out, and a site map about a week before the committee meets. Put the restroom unit on that map at its exact spot, and we will send you the dimensions to draw it.

Health rules come from Washoe County, now handled through Northern Nevada Public Health. The county regulates toilets and hand washing at temporary food setups and special events. It reviews restroom counts for each event case by case, rather than from one published table. If your event sells food or drinks, ask about restrooms and hand washing when you file, and we will size the units to what the county approves.

Job sites follow the federal construction rule, OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51. It calls for at least one toilet for 20 or fewer workers, then one toilet seat and one urinal per 40 workers above that, and one of each per 50 workers once a crew reaches 200. A unit that is dirty or broken does not count toward the minimum, which is why we set service visits by crew size. Tell us the head count for each shift, and we will show you how many stations the plan needs.

The ADA + 6 Restroom Trailer, available for Reno-area events

Ramps, suites and setup on the site

  • ADA-accessible units with a self-contained ramp, wide door, grab bars, and turning room.
  • Guidance on where to place the trailer so it is easy to reach and easy to service.
  • Water and power sorted before delivery, with a generator staged when the site has no hookup.
  • Licensed and insured on every unit we put on the road.

One thing we always say plainly: some venues and city permits have their own rules on placement, accessibility, and event restrooms. Tell us your venue and we will help you plan around them, but confirm any permit requirements with the venue or the city as well.

Why event hosts budget for a luxury bathroom trailer first in Reno

The 8-Station Private Stall Deluxe Restroom Trailer, available for Reno-area events

Think about what a Reno event actually costs to put on. The venue, the catering, the flowers, the photographer, the hours of planning. Then picture a guest walking out of a hot plastic box in the middle of all of it. Nobody plans for that. The restroom is the one vendor every single guest uses, often more than once, and it is the detail they quietly judge the whole event by.

A luxury restroom trailer protects everything else you spent on. It reads like an extension of the venue, holds up through a full day of guests, and gives people one less thing to remember for the wrong reason. Set against the total cost of the day, it is a small line item that quietly carries a lot of the impression, which is exactly why the hosts who have been burned once book the trailer first the next time.

How it works

A closer look at our restroom trailers near Reno

Our restroom trailers, and the kinds of events we set them up for. Backyard weddings, vineyard receptions, corporate lots, film sets, and the festival gates where the lines have to move.

Simply this

Four steps to a VIP restroom trailer on a Reno event

Booking should be the easy part of planning an event. Four steps, a straight answer, and one team that owns the whole thing.

1

Tell us about the event

Share your date, your rough guest count, and the venue. That is enough for us to point you to the right size trailer.

2

We match the trailer and site

We pair you with a unit, confirm whether the site has water and power or needs a generator, and pin the exact spot so delivery is one clean trip.

3

Delivery and setup

We arrive on your schedule, level and set the trailer, connect it, and stock it so it is ready and fresh before the first guest.

4

Enjoy it, we handle pickup

The trailer holds up through your whole event while our line stays open. When you are done, we come back and take it away.

In practice

Keeping VIP restroom trailers fresh through a long Reno event

A Lavatory 2-Station restroom trailer with separate women's and men's doors set up beside a white event tent

We handle the whole thing, not just the drop-off. Our team delivers the trailer, levels and sets it, connects water and power or stages a generator, and stocks it before your first guest arrives. When the event wraps, we come back and haul it away. You never touch the logistics. That part is on us.

For longer or higher-traffic bookings in Reno, we offer an on-site attendant who keeps the trailer stocked and spotless through the event, and we pump and refresh the unit so it holds up from the first guest to the last. That always-fresh standard is the difference between a restroom guests use once and one they are glad to use all night.

Typical Reno setups for our luxury restroom trailers

The 3-Station Restroom Trailer, available for Reno-area events

How we plan an executive restroom for a data center office row

When a contractor sets up a field office complex east of Sparks, we place a 3-Station at the end of the office row on a gravel pad, draw power from the office panel and book tank service on the same weekday every week. Before the first hard freeze, we add protection to the supply line and switch the heat to run all night.

How we plan a backyard wedding on a Somersett slope

When a couple plans a reception for about 180 guests behind a hillside home, we ask for photos of the drive and the gate, pick a flat spot near the tent and build up the low side with leveling blocks. We start the air an hour before the ceremony and leave the lights on for the walk back after dark. Most venues are short on restrooms, as our write-up on wedding restroom trailer rentals explains.

How we plan base camp for a desert commercial shoot

When a production books two shoot days on a dirt road outside town, we deliver a 2-Station with its own quiet generator the evening before crew call. We park it upwind of catering and away from the camera line, then pick it up after wrap on the second day.

Upscale bathroom trailer delivery in Reno neighborhoods

A Lavatory 2-Station bathroom trailer on a gravel lot with pine trees and a clear blue sky behind it

We deliver across all of Reno and out to Sparks, Carson City, Fernley, Truckee and Incline Village on the Lake Tahoe shore. Our service area covers every state, and the same fleet backs our North Las Vegas restroom trailer rentals in the south of the state and our Salt Lake City luxury restroom trailers to the east. Send us an address and a date, and we will confirm a delivery window on the same call.

We cover Reno luxury restroom trailer rentals across Nevada. Neighborhoods and towns we serve include Downtown, Midtown, Old Southwest, University District, Riverwalk District, Northwest Reno, Somersett, Caughlin Ranch, Mogul, Verdi, South Meadows, Double Diamond, Damonte Ranch, Curti Ranch, Hidden Valley, Stead, Golden Valley, Lemmon Valley, Sun Valley, Sparks, Spanish Springs, Washoe Valley.

Planning an event beyond the city line? See our full restroom trailer coverage across Nevada.

Caughlin Ranch

The west foothills hold homes with big valley views and steep, winding drives. Backyard weddings are common here, and we check the gate width and the grade before we book the truck.

Old Southwest

Tree-lined streets and older homes near downtown, where one bathroom often serves the whole house. A 2-Station in the driveway helps during a remodel or a big family party.

University District

This covers the blocks around the University of Nevada, Reno and Mackay Stadium, where tailgates, graduation parties and alumni events fill the calendar in fall and spring.

Verdi

A small river town about 10 miles west on I-80 toward the California line. Ranch weddings here often need a generator because the nearest outlet is far from the lawn.

Sun Valley

An unincorporated area northeast of the city with larger lots and plenty of family events. Flat yards make placement easy, and a 2-Station fits most side yards.

Washoe Valley

This is the open land between Reno and Carson City around Washoe Lake. Horse properties and rural weddings here come with long gravel drives, so we plan the approach well before the day.

Planned rentals are usually scheduled the same week, and we do our best to cover last-minute Reno dates when a trailer is nearby.

What homeowners ask about portable restroom trailers in Reno

The 5-Station Restroom Trailer, available for Reno-area events
When should we reserve a restroom trailer for a summer wedding in the Reno area?

Reserve it as soon as you sign with your venue, and six months ahead is safer for a date between June and September. Those months are peak wedding season here, and the same weeks carry the biggest festivals of the year. Fall dates in October are a little easier to get, and winter dates are easier still. Call us with your date and we will tell you what is open right now.

How do permits, HOA rules and venue policies affect where the trailer can go?

Private property usually needs no city permit, but your HOA or your venue may have its own rules. Planned neighborhoods such as Somersett and Damonte Ranch have HOAs, and some limit how long a trailer can sit in view of the street. Venues often have a set area for vendor equipment as well. Send us whatever rules you get, and we will pick a unit and a spot that fit them.

Do you send someone to clean and restock the trailer during the event?

Every unit arrives cleaned and stocked with paper, soap and towels, and we check the supplies again at setup. On multi-day events and long jobs, our crew comes back on a set schedule to clean, restock and pump. For a one-day wedding, most couples ask the venue coordinator to glance at the paper and soap once or twice. If you want a staffed attendant for a large event, ask when you call and we will talk through what fits your day.

Will the trailer arrive the day before, and how late can you pick it up?

For most events we deliver the day before or early on the event morning, then level the unit, fill the fresh tank and stock it. We walk you or your planner through the lights, the fan and the thermostat. Pickup usually happens the next morning, since backing a truck across a dark lawn after a party is not safe. If your venue needs everything gone that night, tell us when you book and we will plan for it.

Can a luxury restroom trailer really replace porta potties at a nice event?

Yes, and guests notice the difference the moment they open the door. A porta potty is a plastic booth with a holding tank under the seat. Our trailers have flushing china toilets, sinks with running water, mirrors, lighting, and heat and air, with separate women’s and men’s rooms. The waste stays in a sealed tank under the floor, so there is no smell inside.

Is a regular outlet enough to power the trailer, or do we need a generator?

Most of our units need one standard 20 A 120 V circuit within about 100 feet, which a garage or an outdoor outlet can usually supply. The 9-Station and the ADA + 2 each need two separate circuits. If the nearest outlet is far from the lawn, as it often is on ranch and estate sites, we arrange a quiet generator and place it away from guests. Tell us what outlets you have and we will confirm before delivery.

Where should we place several trailers for a crowd of 1,000 or more?

Split them up instead of lining them all in one spot, because two or three units in different parts of the grounds cut the walk and the wait, and guests find the closest one on their own. Each unit needs a firm, level spot and a lane our service truck can reach without crossing the crowd. Send us a site map and the expected crowd by hour, and we will mark where each trailer should go.

What happens with the waste tanks during a three-day festival or a long job?

We plan service around the tank size and the expected crowd. The 5-Station holds 520 gallons of waste and the 9-Station holds 750, so a busy multi-day event usually gets a pump and restock visit each morning before gates open. Long job sites get service on a fixed weekday, and the schedule goes into your quote up front, so you are not paying extra for a visit you did not expect.

Does The Lavatory deliver to Lake Tahoe, Truckee and Carson City from Reno?

Yes. Carson City is about 30 miles south on I-580, Incline Village is about 37 miles away on the north shore, and Truckee is about 40 miles west over the Sierra on I-80. Winter storms can slow the climb toward Truckee, so we build extra time into cold season deliveries on that route. Lake Tahoe venues often have narrow roads, so send photos of the approach when you book.

Which unit works best for a guest who uses a wheelchair?

The ADA + 2 is the right pick for that guest, since it has a self-contained ramp and a roomy unisex room built to federal ADA guidelines, plus a separate women’s room and men’s room for everyone else. It handles events of up to about 200 guests on its own. For bigger crowds we pair it with a larger unit so every guest has a comfortable option.

Reno luxury restroom trailer guides: sizing, the summer rush, smart questions and emergencies

Deeper reading for hosts and planners, from sizing a trailer to your guest count to keeping guests comfortable through a long event. Tap any guide to open it.

How many restroom stations a Reno wedding or party really needs

Most hosts guess low when they size restrooms. They count guests, picture a restroom, and assume one small unit will do. The real number depends on how long the event lasts, whether there is a bar, and how many guests are women, since women’s rooms see longer visits. Getting it wrong shows up as a line at exactly the moment the toasts start.

Start with the guest count and the hours, because those two numbers set the size. A 2-Station works for a small backyard gathering of family and close friends. A 3-Station adds a second women’s room and handles a bigger party. The 5-Station is built for about 150 to 450 guests, and about 200 to 500 across a five hour event. For about 400 to 900 guests over five hours, the 9-Station is the right size.

Booking a restroom trailer during the Reno and Sparks summer event rush

From mid-June to late September, the valley’s event calendar barely takes a breath. The Reno Rodeo, Artown, Hot August Nights, the Nugget Rib Cook-Off in Sparks, the Great Reno Balloon Race and Street Vibrations all land inside those few months. Each one pulls tents, generators, delivery trucks and restroom units from the same local supply.

Weddings stack on top of all that, because June through September is peak wedding season here, and outdoor venues book their best Saturdays a year or more out. When a couple locks in a ranch for the second Saturday in August, they are competing for trucks and trailers with every festival sponsor and car club in town that weekend.

Seven questions to ask before you book a restroom trailer in Northern Nevada

A quote is only as good as what it actually covers. Before you sign with anyone, including us, work through a short list of questions. The answers tell you who owns the equipment, what shows up on the day, and who picks up the phone when something goes wrong late on a Saturday night.

First, ask who owns the trailer, because some rental sites that rank well online own no equipment at all. They take your order and pass it to whoever is free that weekend, which means the company you paid has never seen the unit. We own every trailer in our fleet, and our own crews deliver it.

Restroom trailers after a flood, fire or water outage in the Truckee Meadows

Most restroom trailer rentals are planned weeks ahead, but emergencies give you no warning at all. In the Truckee Meadows, the two big threats are river floods in winter and wind-driven fires in the foothills, and either one can leave a shelter, a school or a whole street without working restrooms for days.

The Truckee River has a long flood record, and the January 1997 flood was the most damaging on the region’s rivers in 150 years of records, peaking at 18,500 cubic feet per second, and a January 2017 storm pushed the river to 11,800. Flood planners group 1997, 2005 and 2017 as examples of back to back atmospheric river storms. The Truckee River Flood Management Authority keeps flood maps for the valley if you want to check a site before storm season.
