Why The Lavatory

Why Texas planners book our luxury restroom trailers

A Lavatory crew member gesturing toward a freshly set restroom trailer with both stair units deployed on a paved lot under a clear blue sky

Texas is too big for one kind of restroom plan. A Houston gala in a downtown parking garage, a Hill Country wedding on a ranch with no sewer line, a stadium tailgate lot in Arlington and a pipeline crew west of Midland all need clean restrooms, and every one of them has different ground, different access and different weather. A trailer that only works on a mild spring afternoon is the wrong trailer for this state.

We built our Texas program around that spread. Every unit carries its own fresh water tank, a large waste tank and a built-in air conditioner with heat, so it runs on a paved lot with hookups or on gravel or packed dirt with nothing nearby. One dispatch team plans the Gulf Coast, North Texas, Central Texas and West Texas routes, and the crew that sets your trailer knows the unit before it rolls up to your gate.

Texas also asks for speed. Plant shutdown dates move, and storms knock out water service with no warning. Because we own the fleet and run our own trucks, we can usually answer those calls with a confirmed trailer and a delivery window in the same conversation, instead of a promise to check with a subcontractor and call back.

A fleet we own outright

Every restroom trailer on your site comes from our own fleet of over 250 units. We never hand a Texas job to a stranger or send a unit we have not inspected. You deal with one team and one phone number from the first quote to the final pickup.

Restrooms guests actually like

China toilets with foot flush, stainless sinks with hot and cold running water, framed mirrors, bright LED lighting and doors that lock. Guests walk in expecting a porta potty and walk out asking who supplied the trailer.

Cool in July, safe in a freeze

Each unit runs air conditioning and heat on a thermostat. On a 104 degree afternoon in Dallas the inside stays comfortable, and on the rare night a hard cold front drops the temperature below freezing, the cabin stays above it.

Want the floor plan and tank sizes first? Each unit has its own spec page, starting with the 5-Station luxury restroom trailer most Texas receptions book and the ADA + 2 accessible restroom trailer for public events and job sites.

The companies that could rent anything still call us for restrooms, because a cheap plastic unit at a launch party or a shareholder event ruins everything the day is meant to say. The Lavatory has provided luxury restrooms for names like Google, Tesla, BMW, Mercedes, eBay, and Target, for hospitality at Caesars Palace, and for pro sports including the Golden State Warriors, Oakland A’s, and Las Vegas Raiders.

Statewide coverage

Where we set restroom trailers across Texas, region by region

We work the whole state, not just the I-35 and I-45 corridors. These are the regions that keep our Texas calendar full, each with its own traffic, ground, weather and kind of event. Tell us the address and the date, and we will route the right luxury bathroom trailer and plan the delivery window around it.

Houston and the Gulf Coast

Greater Houston keeps more restroom trailers working than any other part of Texas. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo fills NRG Park every March, the George R. Brown Convention Center books shows all year, and the petrochemical plants along the Ship Channel run turnarounds that bring in hundreds of contract workers at a time. Flat ground helps, while summer rain and soft lots mean we check drainage and set units on firm pads before every delivery. See our luxury restroom trailer rentals in Houston.

Dallas, Fort Worth and Arlington

The Metroplex draws big crowds all year. The State Fair of Texas takes over Fair Park each fall, the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo fills Will Rogers Memorial Center and Dickies Arena every winter, and the Arlington entertainment district around AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field hosts game days, concerts and the matches that made it a 2026 World Cup city. Suburban growth from Frisco to Mansfield adds a steady line of construction sites and backyard receptions. See our luxury restroom trailer rentals in Dallas.

Austin and the Hill Country

Austin City Limits fills Zilker Park every October, SXSW turns downtown into a two week event site each March, and Circuit of the Americas in Del Valle hosts races and concerts on a campus of about 1,500 acres. Out in the Hill Country, from Dripping Springs to Fredericksburg, ranch and vineyard venues rarely have restrooms sized for a full guest list. Gravel drives, low water crossings and gated ranch roads are part of the route plan. See our luxury restroom trailer rentals in Austin.

San Antonio and South Texas

Fiesta San Antonio brings parades and street events every April, and the downtown core around Hemisfair and the River Walk calls for tight placement and careful timing. Joint Base San Antonio, the manufacturing on the South Side and the data center growth on the far West Side add long term job site work, while ranch weddings and quinceañeras keep weekends busy from New Braunfels to Laredo. See our luxury restroom trailer rentals in San Antonio.

El Paso and West Texas

El Paso sits in the Chihuahuan Desert at the foot of the Franklin Mountains, a long way from the rest of Texas. Sun Bowl Stadium seats about 51,500, Fort Bliss covers roughly 1.2 million acres of training land, and desert weddings and trail races run on ground with no water line in sight. These jobs run self-contained, with water and pumping scheduled before the trailer leaves the yard. See our luxury restroom trailer rentals in El Paso.

The Permian Basin, Panhandle and East Texas

Midland, Odessa and the oil field towns bring energy crews and remote pads with no utilities at all. Lubbock and Amarillo add football weekends, county fairs and ag shows on the High Plains, and East Texas from Tyler to Beaumont adds pine forest weddings, church events and storm recovery work. Long rural routes are booked ahead so the trailer arrives on the day you need it.

Corpus Christi and the Rio Grande Valley

Corpus Christi, Port Aransas and the Coastal Bend bring beach weddings, fishing tournaments and port and refinery work, while McAllen, Harlingen and Brownsville add large family celebrations, school events and border infrastructure projects. Salt air, sand and summer storms shape where we park a trailer, so we set units on firm ground back from the dunes and plan around the tide and the forecast.

The fleet

Restroom trailer sizes we rent in Texas, from 2 to 9 stations

Seven luxury restroom trailers handle almost every Texas request, from a backyard party of 80 to a fairground crowd in the thousands. The guest counts below assume an event of about four to five hours. Hot afternoons, an open bar and long job site shifts all push the count up, so we size with you instead of guessing.

The 2-Station Restroom Trailer, available for rent across Texas

2-Station Restroom Trailer

A women's suite and a men's suite in a compact box that serves up to about 150 guests. It backs into a driveway, a side yard or a small venue lot, which is why it is the common choice for home receptions in the suburbs and small company gatherings.

The 3-Station Restroom Trailer, available for rent across Texas

3-Station Restroom Trailer

Two women's suites and a men's suite for up to about 225 guests. Texas hosts book it for milestone birthdays, church picnics, graduation parties and golf tournament overflow near the clubhouse.

The 5-Station Restroom Trailer, available for rent across Texas

5-Station Restroom Trailer

Three stalls and two sinks on the women's side, plus a stall, a urinal and a sink on the men's side. It handles 150 to 450 guests with 200 gallons of fresh water and a 520 gallon waste tank, and it is the unit most Texas wedding receptions end up booking.

The 8-Station Private Stall Deluxe Restroom Trailer, available for rent across Texas

8-Station Private Stall Deluxe Restroom Trailer

Eight unisex private rooms, each with a toilet, a urinal and a sink, for 400 to 600 guests. Each room opens directly outside, so lines keep moving at a gala or corporate event and nobody shares a stall wall.

The 9-Station Restroom Trailer, available for rent across Texas

9-Station Restroom Trailer

Five stalls and two sinks for women, two stalls, two urinals and a sink for men, sized for 400 to 900 guests. Two air conditioning units and a 750 gallon waste tank carry it through a long festival day in the heat.

The ADA + 2 Restroom Trailer, available for rent across Texas

ADA + 2 Restroom Trailer

A women's suite, a men's suite and an accessible unisex suite with its own ramp. It fits events up to about 200 guests or job sites up to about 30 workers, and it carries 210 gallons of fresh water.

The ADA + 6 Restroom Trailer, available for rent across Texas

ADA + 6 Restroom Trailer

Four men's stations, two women's stations and an accessible unisex room with a ramp, built to federal accessibility standards. It serves public events and crews up to about 300 people when access is part of the permit.

Not sure which size you need? Send us the guest count, the hours, the forecast if it is summer and whether alcohol is served. We will size it honestly, even when that means a smaller trailer than you expected.

Sizing guide

Sizing a restroom trailer for a Texas event: the numbers we use

A Lavatory restroom trailer with women's and men's doors parked on a gravel lot under strings of colorful festival pennants

Every Texas quote starts from the same handful of numbers: guest count, event length, whether alcohol is served, the season and how long the trailer stays. These are the working figures behind our recommendations.

Up to about 150 guests

The 2-Station unit holds 105 gallons of fresh water and a 300 gallon waste tank and runs on one 20 amp, 120 volt circuit. It covers home receptions and church or company gatherings of 80 to 150 people over four or five hours.

150 to 450 guests

The 5-Station unit measures 14 feet 6 inches in the box and about 20 feet with the tongue, with 200 gallons of fresh water and a 520 gallon waste tank. Most Texas receptions of 200 to 350 guests are a fit here.

400 to 900 guests

The 9-Station unit runs two air conditioning units on two 20 amp circuits and holds 750 gallons of waste. The 8-Station Private Stall carries 400 gallons of fresh water and a 1,000 gallon waste tank for 400 to 600 guests who want a private room.

Crowds in the thousands

For a rodeo, fair or festival we line up two or more large units so the crowd splits across them, then pump between peak sessions. A weekend event with 5,000 guests usually needs several trailers and scheduled service, not one oversized unit.

Job sites and long stays

Federal rules under 29 CFR 1926.51 require one toilet for 20 or fewer workers and more as the crew grows. The ADA + 2 covers crews up to about 30, and we set a weekly or twice weekly pumping schedule for jobs that run 30, 60 or 90 days.

Space and access

Plan on about 12 to 14 feet of width with stairs or ramps out, and 20 to 35 feet of length depending on the unit. Every unit needs firm, level ground and a clear path wide enough for a truck to back in.

Hot weather adjustments

Heat changes the math. On a July afternoon guests drink more water and more of everything else, so lines get longer and tanks fill faster. For an outdoor event above 95 degrees we move up one size or add a pump-out, and we never size a summer festival from a spring guest count.

Where they work

Weddings, festivals and job sites: how Texas uses our restroom trailers

Most of our Texas bookings fall into six kinds of work. Each one sets its own demands for trailer size, placement, water and service.

Weddings, receptions and quinceañeras

Texas weddings run large, and the venues people love most are often barns, ranches and family land with one small restroom or none. A 5-Station or 8-Station Private Stall trailer placed near the reception tent gives the guest list real restrooms with air conditioning, which matters a great deal at an outdoor reception in June.

Rodeos, fairs and festivals

The Houston rodeo drew about 2.6 million visitors in 2026, and the State Fair of Texas, Fiesta San Antonio and Austin City Limits each draw crowds that overwhelm permanent restrooms. For big events we set several units in a bank so the lines split, then schedule pumping between peak sessions so nothing fills up mid-show.

Stadium, tailgate and sports events

Game days in Arlington, College Station, Austin and Lubbock bring tens of thousands of people into parking lots for hours before kickoff. Premium tailgate areas, hospitality tents and team staging lots book our larger units, and we time delivery around lot access windows and road closures.

Construction, plants and energy work

The Gulf Coast refineries, the Samsung fab in Taylor and the Permian Basin all run large crews far from a permanent building. Federal rules under 29 CFR 1926.51 set toilet and handwashing requirements by crew size, and a clean, air conditioned restroom with running water helps a contractor keep good workers through a hot summer.

Hurricane, flood and freeze response

Hurricane Harvey in 2017 and Winter Storm Uri in 2021 both left Texas shelters, hospitals and staging yards without working restrooms. Our 24/7 line takes emergency orders, self-contained units run when city water is down, and the accessible trailers give relief sites the access they need.

Film sets, corporate events and churches

State film incentives have pulled more productions to Texas, and a base camp on a ranch or an industrial backlot rarely has plumbing. Corporate picnics, product launches, church revivals and school events fill the rest of our calendar, usually on sites with plenty of parking and not nearly enough restrooms.

Schools, universities and graduations

Graduation ceremonies at football stadiums, band competitions, homecoming tailgates and campus construction all need extra restrooms for a day or a semester. School districts and universities across Texas book the ADA units most often, because one accessible room is usually part of the plan.

Tell us what kind of event or job you are running. Call (737) 250-8098 or request a quote, and most quotes go out the same day.

Weather plan

Built for Texas heat, Gulf storms and the occasional hard freeze

An interstate highway curving through dry desert grassland toward rugged mountains near El Paso under a bright summer sky

Heat is the everyday design question in Texas. Houston humidity regularly pushes the afternoon heat index past 105 degrees in July and August, and North Texas routinely sees stretches of triple digit days. Every one of our trailers runs a built-in air conditioner on a thermostat, and we start it well before guests arrive so the interior is already cool. For long summer events we also plan extra water, a shaded spot when the site allows it and a pumping schedule that accounts for heavier use.

Hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30 on the Gulf Coast. When a storm is forecast we pull units off exposed sites, secure them or move them inland, and then return them to work at shelters and recovery yards once the roads open. Self-contained trailers matter most when the power or water system is down, which is exactly when a city needs restrooms.

Freezes are rare, and they can be severe. Winter Storm Uri in February 2021 left more than 12 million Texans under boil water notices, and ice storms have hit Central Texas since then. Our trailers carry heat as well as air conditioning, so the cabin stays above freezing overnight. On a hard freeze we protect or disconnect the site hose, drain the waste line between services and run the unit fully self-contained with water delivery and scheduled pumping.

Spring brings a different risk: hail, high wind and tornado warnings across North and Central Texas from March through June. Our trailers are built for road travel and stay level on their own stabilizers, and for multi-day events we watch the forecast and will reposition or secure a unit before severe weather arrives, then return it before guests come back.

Booking for July, hurricane season or a cold snap? Call (737) 250-8098 or request a quote and we will plan the trailer around the forecast.

How it works

How booking a Texas restroom trailer works

A Lavatory 2-Station restroom trailer with stairs at both doors, set on a cleared dirt lot beside a small storage building and leafy trees

1. Call or request a quote

Give us the date, the address, the guest count and the hours. Our phone is answered 24/7, and most quotes go out the same day.

2. We size it and check the site

We match the trailer to your crowd and look at ground, slope, gate width, power and water. For a ranch road, a tight downtown lot or a plant site with badge access, we ask for photos or visit before committing to a spot.

3. Delivery and setup

Our crew delivers, levels, connects power and water where available, starts the air conditioning and stocks the unit with paper, soap, towels and fragrance. Setup is finished well before the first guest arrives.

4. Service and pickup

For multi-day events and long term job sites we restock and pump on a set schedule. When the work wraps up, we pull the trailer and leave the site as we found it.

Before delivery day

Permits, health rules and placement in Texas

Downtown Dallas skyline seen from above, with the glass towers of the central business district and the red sandstone Old Red Courthouse in the foreground

A trailer on private property usually needs no permit of its own. Public land and streets are different. Austin routes special events through the Austin Center for Events, Houston handles them through the Houston Permitting Center and the fire marshal, and Dallas and Fort Worth run their own special event and right of way permits. Austin's guidance recommends about one toilet for every 50 people at peak attendance and requires the restroom to be accessible when only one is placed, which is a good planning rule for any Texas event.

Waste handling follows state rules. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality requires anyone hauling chemical toilet waste to register as a sludge transporter under 30 TAC 312.142, and long term holding tanks on unincorporated land fall under the county on-site sewage rules in 30 TAC Chapter 285. We handle all pumping and disposal at approved facilities, so you never need to hire a separate hauler. Local health departments oversee temporary events that serve food, and a trailer with running water and hand sinks makes their handwashing checklist simple.

Some sites carry extra rules. Refineries, chemical plants, airports and military installations such as Fort Bliss and Joint Base San Antonio require badges, escorts and safety orientations, which changes when service trucks can come and go. Ranch venues often have gates, cattle guards and low water crossings that limit trailer length. We plan around all of it before delivery day.

Accessibility follows federal law. The Americans with Disabilities Act sets the requirements for accessible restrooms at public events and places of business, and many Texas permits ask for at least one accessible unit on site. Our ADA + 2 and ADA + 6 trailers include a ramp, handrails, grab bars and a turning space inside, and we place them on firm, level ground close to the main walkway so the route is usable, not just present.

For the source rules, see the TCEQ page on sludge transporter registration, the OSHA construction sanitation standard 29 CFR 1926.51, and the National Hurricane Center’s hurricane preparedness guidance.

Questions

Questions Texas hosts ask about renting a restroom trailer

How far ahead should I book a restroom trailer in Texas?

As soon as your date is set. Spring wedding season, rodeo season in Houston and Fort Worth, State Fair weeks in Dallas and fall football weekends book first. We also take short notice orders when a unit is free, and the 24/7 line handles emergencies.

Will the trailer stay cool during a Texas summer event?

Yes. Every unit has a built-in air conditioner on a thermostat, and our crew starts it well ahead of your guests. For an all day event in July or August we also plan extra water and a pumping schedule for heavier use.

Which size do I need for a 250 guest wedding reception?

For about 250 guests over four to five hours, the 5-Station Restroom Trailer is the usual fit. If the bar runs all night or the reception is outdoors on a hot evening, move up to the 8-Station Private Stall or the 9-Station so lines stay short.

What if my ranch or venue has no water or sewer hookup?

That is common in Texas and it is fine. Every trailer carries its own fresh water tank and a large waste tank. We fill it before delivery and pump it on a schedule, so it runs on open land far from any utility line.

Does the trailer need power?

Yes. A standard 20 amp, 120 volt circuit within about 100 feet runs most units, and the larger trailers need two circuits for the air conditioning. If the site has no outlet, we will plan a quiet generator setup with you.

Can you deliver to El Paso, the Permian Basin and rural Texas?

Yes. We deliver statewide, from the Rio Grande Valley to the Panhandle and from Beaumont to El Paso. Longer rural routes are scheduled ahead, and we ask about gates, cattle guards and road surfaces before the truck leaves.

What happens to my rental if a hurricane is coming?

We watch every Gulf forecast during the season. If a storm threatens your site we will call you, secure or relocate the trailer, and bring it back or send a replacement once roads are safe. Storm response orders run through the same 24/7 line.

Is an accessible restroom trailer available?

Yes. The ADA + 2 and ADA + 6 units each include an accessible unisex room with its own ramp. Many public events and job sites need at least one, and we help place it on firm, level ground close to the main walkway.

How many restroom trailers do I need for a 1,000 person event?

For about 1,000 guests over five hours, plan on at least two large units, such as two 9-Station trailers or a 9-Station with an 8-Station Private Stall. Heat, an open bar and longer hours all push that number higher, and we size it with you.

How much space does a restroom trailer need?

Most units need 20 to 35 feet of length and 12 to 14 feet of width with stairs or ramps out, plus a clear path for our truck to back in. Firm, level ground matters more than size, so a quick photo of the spot helps us plan.

Can I keep a restroom trailer on a job site for months?

Yes. Many Texas contractors keep a unit on site for the full length of a project. We set a weekly or twice weekly pumping and restocking schedule, adjust it as the crew grows or shrinks, and swap the unit if the job needs a different size halfway through.

Do you provide restroom trailers for hurricane and storm recovery?

Yes. Shelters, hospitals, utility staging yards and churches use our self-contained trailers when city water or sewer service is down after a storm. Call the 24/7 line with the address and head count, and we will tell you what we can send and when it can arrive.

Do you deliver to Hill Country ranch and vineyard venues?

Yes. Ranch and vineyard venues from Dripping Springs to Fredericksburg are some of our most common Texas wedding sites. Send us the gate width, the road surface and a photo of the spot, and we will pick a trailer length that fits the drive.

Send us your date and we will take it from there

Call us or request a quote with your date, address and guest count. We will size the trailer, confirm the delivery window and handle everything from setup to the final pickup, anywhere in Texas.
